A man is facing multiple charges and an internal RCMP review is underway after the arrest of a man in his underwear in Fort McMurray.
RCMP said officers were called on Sunday to reports of a man in his underwear running through traffic.
When an officer arrived, RCMP said the suspect punched the officer's cruiser and started yelling. Additional Mounties were called to help and the man was arrested.
During the arrest, RCMP said one officer dislocated their shoulder. No other details were given.
The 45-year-old man has been charged with mischief, assaulting a peace officer and resisting arrest. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort McMurray on June 18.
The RCMP said they take concerns of excessive force seriously, and an internal review is underway into the arrest.
