Weapon seized following attempted theft: LPS
A London woman has been arrested after a theft and weapons report was made in west London. Around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, a call was made to 911 after a woman allegedly stole the victim's cell phone when she put it down in a business near Wonderland Road North and Farrah Road. Two bystanders tried to stop the theft, but police said the suspect pulled a knife out, before running. Another 911 call was made when the suspect went into another business near Wonderland Road North and Horizon Drive, still holding the knife. The female suspect was found by police and arrested a short time later. The knife was seized, and the victim's cell phone was returned. A 27-year-old London woman is now facing charges for theft under $5,000, possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and assaulting a peace officer.

Man charged with assault, RCMP review into excessive force underway after Fort McMurray arrest

(Google Street View) A man is facing multiple charges and an internal RCMP review is underway after the arrest of a man in his underwear in Fort McMurray. RCMP said officers were called on Sunday to reports of a man in his underwear running through traffic. When an officer arrived, RCMP said the suspect punched the officer's cruiser and started yelling. Additional Mounties were called to help and the man was arrested. During the arrest, RCMP said one officer dislocated their shoulder. No other details were given. The 45-year-old man has been charged with mischief, assaulting a peace officer and resisting arrest. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort McMurray on June 18. The RCMP said they take concerns of excessive force seriously, and an internal review is underway into the arrest.

Denver officer cut, bit during SWAT arrest
DENVER (KDVR) — An officer reportedly suffered a cut and bite injury during an arrest on Monday afternoon that followed a SWAT negotiation, according to a post on X from the Denver Police Department. Bandimere is aiming to open a new drag strip in Weld County Officers from the Denver Police Department and its SWAT team were dispatched to the area of East 14th Avenue and Vine Street, in Denver's Cheesman Park neighborhood, after a man was reportedly using a knife to menace a victim. Police said that after lengthy negotiations, the suspect was taken into custody, but allegedly bit and cut one of the officers on the scene at some point during the arrest. The officer's injuries were evaluated at the scene. The suspect was transported for evaluation of possible injuries.
