Bills' Josh Allen 'Starting Over' After MVP Win
Bills' Josh Allen 'Starting Over' After MVP Win originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen had his breakthrough year in 2024 as he won his first NFL MVP award, with the former first-round pick having one of his most consistent seasons since entering the league.

But that was last year.
As Bills OTAs begin, Allen isn't getting the MVP treatment from his coordinator, Joe Brady; it's back to square one. That might sound a little odd given what Josh has accomplished in his career, but Brady wants to continually push his quarterback to greater heights.
'Every year is a new year, we haven't done anything this year, so our approach is you don't get to pick up where you left off,' Brady said. 'Josh embodies that, we're starting over, install one, it's the basics, and we have to master the system at every level.
"Sometimes you think you know everything, and then if you really humble yourself, there's always little things that you can pick up. With a guy like Josh, you get the MVP, you're trying to just continue to challenge him. He wants it all, but every year is a new year, we just start over, and he embraces that and rolls with it.'

So Allen's MVP win is now in the rearview mirror with the new season getting closer.

Defense's will be trying to find any weaknesses in Josh's game from last season, but with Brady's way of doing things, Allen will be a different version of himself, which makes stopping him even more challenging.
With the Bills seen as one of the Super Bowl favorites, Allen will be central to anything the offense does well, and having him work on his game in the offseason, and not just "bank" on him being able to replicate his MVP season of last year puts the franchise in a good position moving forward.
No one is above learning something new.
Even the NFL's Most Valuable Player.

Eagles' Fullback Comments Take New Light in Waiver Claim
Eagles' Fullback Comments Take New Light in Waiver Claim originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie turned heads during league meetings this offseason when he declared that the organization hoped to bring back the fullback position in 2025. Advertisement Their latest pickup may not be a true fullback, but he certainly sheds new light on the comment about change in general. The Eagles claimed running back/return specialist Keilan Robinson off waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars. Robinson was a fifth-round pick in the 2024 draft and recorded just five offensive snaps during his rookie campaign. So what's the big deal? The Alabama and Texas product recorded over 900 kick-return yards in college while adding over 1,100 yards from scrimmage on the offensive side of the ball. At 5-9 and 183 pounds, Robinson is hardly a fullback; he's the farthest thing from that. Advertisement He is set up to compete for a spot on the practice squad. ... but his experience as a returner could also help the team. The organization signed Avery Williams in the offseason, which could be seen as adding competition to the role. Hypothetically, though, let's say Robinson can earn a spot on the game-day roster. Can he add a wrinkle as an extra back? This waiver claim of Robinson isn't specific to the fullback position ... but it does show Philadelphia's continuous pursuit to run the football is never-ending. And it's not just because of Saquon Barkley's excellence, either. The organization has truly committed to bringing players who can operate a run-first offense. ... with more news about what can be done with a fullback maybe on the horizon. Now or Never For Eagles' Young Cornerback
Now or Never For Eagles' Young Cornerback originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Philadelphia Eagles have spent plenty of draft capital on defensive players out of the University of Georgia. Jalen Carter, Nakobe Dean, Jordan Davis, Nolan Smith, and Smael Mondon Jr. are just some of the more recent names who have been selected by Philadelphia in the draft process recently. Advertisement And there is one more Georgia player who was a part of their National Championship defense ... Cornerback Kelee Ringo was Georgia's top defensive back during their title-winning days. He was taken by the Eagles in the fourth round of the 2023 draft and has sat behind veterans like Darius Slay and James Bradberry for the last two years. With both veterans gone, it is in a sense "now or never'' for Ringo to prove he can be a starter in the league. In limited action, Ringo has been pretty good at the cornerback position. Pro Football Focus graded out his sophomore season at a respectable 65.8. That is considered above average for the cornerback position. Advertisement Philadelphia will not simply give Ringo a starting role. He will be competing with veteran Adoree Jackson for that key role opposite second-year corner Quinyon Mitchell on the outside. It seems silly to think that a player in just his third year in the league is in a "do or die" situation. Especially one as young as Ringo. Despite his two years in the league, he is still just 22 years old. But Ringo isn't just looking to find a home on special teams. He may be Philadelphia's top special-teams player, but Ringo has far bigger goals. Ringo wants to start on the outside. If he can't beat out a player like Jackson—someone who has never played in the Vic Fangio system—then when will it happen? Advertisement He may have a spot on the roster as a special-teams ace, but if he wants to make his mark as a starter, his approach needs to be of the "now or never'' variety.
