Innis & Gunn crowned at World Beer Awards as Scotland's best beers revealed
Innis & Gunn has once again brought home top honours on the world stage, securing double gold at the World Beer Awards and retaining its title as Scotland's best for the second consecutive year.
The World Beer Awards, an annual international competition judged by global beer experts, recognises the finest brews in each style and country.
This year, Innis & Gunn's flagship Original claimed gold in the Wood Aged category, while Lager Beer maintained its crown in the Classic Pilsener category. Both beers were also named Country Winners for Scotland.
Lager Beer, crafted with naked golden oats and zesty aromatic hops, is praised for its crisp, refreshing flavour and continues to outperform major international brands in blind tastings.
The Original, first launched in 2003, remains the beer that put Innis & Gunn on the map.
Matured in hand-selected single malt whisky casks, it develops a smooth, rich character with layered notes of vanilla, toffee, citrus and subtle oak, complemented by a honey-gold colour and velvety mouthfeel.

The World Beer Awards celebrate outstanding flavour, quality and innovation, with breweries from across Scotland and beyond competing in categories ranging from lagers to wood-aged and speciality beers.
This latest recognition comes after a banner year for Innis & Gunn. The brewery transformed a site in Edinburgh into Stockbridge Social, an open-air food and drink destination on Raeburn Place, coinciding with the Fringe.

The venue, which opened last month on the former Neighbourhood Market site, has quickly become a festival hotspot.
Innis & Gunn also returned with its popular pop-up, The Mound, showcasing Scottish talent during the Fringe.
Beyond the festival scene, the brewery has strengthened its ties to Scottish culture, becoming headline partner of the Celtic Connections folk music festival in a landmark five-year deal.
It continues to serve as official beer partner for major events including the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.

The Scottish beer giant has seen its Ellon brewery's famous Punk IPA to bars is said to have dropped by more than half during that time. The figures come just weeks after the firm announced the closure of 10 bars across the UK including in Scotland. The closure plans, which are part of a fresh strategy for the brewing firm's hospitality arm, have put close to 100 jobs at risk. The numbers have been revealed to The Telegraph by an industry insider using confidential pub industry data, with claims BrewDog is losing to rival brands like Camden Town and Beavertown 'like you wouldn't believe'. For the fourth year in a row the firm posted significant pre-tax losses. While it recorded a losses of £12.5m in 2020, £9.4m in 2021, and £30.5m in 2022, last year's losses are more than those three years combined. BrewDog said every independent brewer is affected and claims it anticipated the decline. According to the industry insider, the axing may see BrewDog more reliant on the 794 JD Wetherspoon pubs which are a key segment of its remaining distribution, 'If they ever lost the JD Wetherspoon deal, then that's Punk IPA done as a [pub trade] product,' they said. Lauren Caroll, BrewDog's chief operating officer, said: 'Independent brewers across the board have felt the squeeze from the economic pressures hitting the pub trade. With costs rising and consumers watching their spend, pub groups have been narrowing their ranges, and brewery-owned pubs are putting more emphasis on their own brands. 'It's not just us – every independent brewer has been affected. We saw the trend coming, which is why we've shifted focus to high-impact channels like festivals, stadiums, and independent [pubs].'
