Dallas Wings' Strong Statement on Paige Bueckers Amid Rookie Season
She struggled in her WNBA debut on Friday by going 3-of-10 from the field and scoring just 10 points. But in the first half of Monday's game versus the Seattle Storm, she scored 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field and added four assists, two rebounds and one block.

On their official X account, the Wings reminded the rest of the league that Bueckers will be an issue for many other teams for a long time.
"We've got Paige... you've got problems :)" the caption read.
Less than two months ago, Bueckers led the UConn Huskies to the women's NCAA championship over South Carolina. For the season, she averaged 19.9 points, 4.6 assists and 4.4 rebounds a game while shooting 53.4% from the field and 41.9% from 3-point range.
The guard won the Wade Trophy, the Big East Player of the Year and Nancy Lieberman Award in 2025, and she was the No. 1 pick in last month's WNBA draft by Dallas.

Dallas, a franchise that won three league championships in 2003, 2006 and 2008 when it was known as the Detroit Shock, has fallen upon hard times in recent years. It went just 9-31 last season and has had a winning record just once in the last nine seasons.

But in Bueckers, it could have the WNBA's next superstar to build around moving forward.

Indiana Fever provide new Caitlin Clark injury update
This post has been updated with new information The Indiana Fever and coach Stephanie White provided an update on Caitlin Clark's injury status on Monday. White was asked if Clark has progressed beyond her recent reported full-court conditioning activity. "No return to practice. She's been able to get a little bit more in her full-court running with all of her body weight. It's really building up from doing minimal to then building some endurance to do longer periods of time. Indiana Fever reveal crushing Sydney Colson, Aari McDonald injury updates
After Thursday night's disastrous 95-60 blowout loss at Phoenix, the Indiana Fever were also licking their injury wounds. Fever guards Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald both exited the game with serious-looking injuries. Unfortunately, the initial worst fears for both have been confirmed. On Friday afternoon, Indiana updated the status of both Colson and McDonald. The Fever revealed the duo will miss the remainder of the WNBA season. Per the Fever's release, Colson suffered a torn left ACL and McDonald broke a bone in her right foot. Indiana's backcourt depth was already thin as star guard Caitlin Clark continues to rehab a right groin injury that has sidelined her for each of the Fever's past nine regular-season games. Clark has missed 18 regular-season games and 19 contests overall with various injuries this season. Fever guard Sophie Cunningham also briefly exited with an apparent left ankle injury during Indiana's loss at Phoenix. However, Cunningham returned and led the Fever in scoring with 18 points, including five made 3-pointers. Now that the WNBA trade deadline has passed, Indiana will most likely resort to the use of hardship waivers to add depth at the position as it attempts to earn a berth in the 2025 WNBA playoffs. According to Indy Star reporter Chloe Peterson, the injuries to Colson and McDonald will force Indiana to play with only nine healthy players in Saturday's game against the Chicago Sky. Under the terms of the league's collective bargaining agreement, injured players must miss at least one game before the team can qualify for a hardship waiver and sign a replacement. With all three of the team's natural point guards out with injury, it will be interesting to see who Stephanie White inserts at the position and how she intends to manage playing time across the shorthanded roster on Saturday. Another key Indiana Fever guard suffers injury
What seemed like the soft underbelly in the WNBA schedule for the Indiana Fever has now turned into a nightmare for the team as guard Sophie Cunningham suffered an apparent knee injury just minutes into Sunday afternoon's game vs. the Connecticut Sun at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. On the play, Suns guard Bria Hartley was driving the left side of the lane, where she was met by the double-team defense of Kelsey Mitchell and Cunningham. As Hartley made the pass out to the perimeter, the former UCONN guard's momentum took her into Cunningham's lower right leg as she was sliding over to seal the back side of the double-team. Cunningham immediately reacted in significant pain by clutching at her right knee and screaming in agonizing pain, where she was helped off by trainers into the locker room with a towel over her head after the team collectively surrounded her. The Fever would rule Cunningham out for the remainder of the game shortly after, signaling even more damage to an already extremely thin lineup impacted by Caitlin Clark's now month-long right groin setback and the two season-ending injuries to Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald. The potentially catastrophic injury obviously did not sit well with the Fever crowd on social media as today is another game where at least one player has been injured while playing against the Sun. On the immediate play before the injury, Cunningham was wrestled to the ground for a jump ball, which could and probably should have have been whistled for a foul on Connecticut. However, like many physical altercations this season, no foul was assessed by the officials. Cunningham has been one of the most vocal players in the league as it pertains to criticizing the inconsistencies by officials and the WNBA's inability to hold them of accountable. So far, Cunningham has been fined twice for a combined total of $2,000 as a result of her opinions on the WNBA's officiating. Sophie Cunningham's sister even chimed in by accusing the WNBA of ignoring the officiating inconsistencies on physicality and instead fining those who speak out against them, as the former Missouri guard's injury proves to be another example of that point. Obviously, an exact determination of Cunningham's injury status moving forward will be provided once the medical team evaluates her in the coming hours after the game, as the team returns to Indianapolis following the game.
