Max Verstappen's Classy Reaction to Nico Hulkenberg's Podium Goes Viral originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Max Verstappen didn't exactly have the Sunday he was hoping for under those classic gloomy British skies, a far cry from his usual dominant race days. But even when things didn't go his way, Verstappen still found a way to put a smile on fans' faces.

While he was dealing with his own frustrations, he made sure to cheer on his friend Nico Hulkenberg, who finally got to stand on an F1 podium for the first time in his career. Verstappen's genuine reaction to Hulkenberg's big moment was pure class, and the internet couldn't help but love him for it.
The clip that's got everyone talking shows an onboard shot of Max Verstappen absolutely punching the air with excitement as he drove past Nico Hulkenberg to congratulate him on snagging third at the British Grand Prix. It was such a cool moment Verstappen celebrating Hulkenberg's huge milestone right there on track.
After 239 starts and holding that dreaded record for the most races without a podium, Hulkenberg finally got his trophy, and you could feel how special it was. Seeing a fellow driver and friend like Verstappen cheer him on made it all the more heartwarming for fans and the paddock alike.

Verstappen recently took over the title of the only dad in the paddock from Hulkenberg, and honestly, these two get along really well. There's a ton of mutual respect between them, both on and off the track.
After Verstappen bagged his fourth title, Hulkenberg had nothing but praise for him, saying, 'He's just so strong, so quick all the time, no matter the conditions or temperature. He barely makes mistakes and always squeezes out every bit of performance, even if he doesn't have the best car.' It's clear these two genuinely appreciate what the other brings to the grid.

As for Verstappen, well, the race was definitely one he'd like to forget. After starting on pole, he ended up crossing the line in fifth, not exactly what you expect from a four-time world champ. A mix of a rough car setup and a few uncharacteristic mistakes made it a pretty frustrating day at the office for him. Now, he's sitting 69 points behind Oscar Piastri in the drivers' championship, so he's got some serious ground to make up.

Lena Dunham on fatphobia, dating advice and her new London rom-com

Lena Dunham is almost synonymous with New York City. The US actress, writer and director rose to fame with her award-winning semi-autobiographical series Girls, which followed four 20-something women as they navigated love, life and friendship in the Big Apple. But her latest project - a Netflix rom-com loosely based on her life over the last few years - is set on the other side of the Atlantic. Too Much follows Jessica (Megan Stalter), who moves from New York to London after breaking up with her boyfriend, and falls in love with punk musician Felix (Will Sharpe). Just as Dunham did when she moved to London in 2021, Jessica quickly learns the important things about the UK: everybody loves Paddington, the Jaffa Cake debate is highly contentious (it's definitely a biscuit) and a "housing estate" isn't the sprawling gardens of a lavish manor house. Dunham tells the BBC that while Too Much has "superficial similarities" to her life and is "about 5% autobiographical", she didn't see herself ever playing the show's protagonist in the way she did in Girls. "I didn't consider Jessica to be me - she's inspired by my life but is her own character and was written with Megan in mind," she says. Megan Stalter says Girls "was all about sex and Too Much is about falling in love", which is a similar to how Dunham sees the show. There was also another reason she chose to step away from the spotlight. While filming Girls, in her 20s, Dunham's body was heavily scrutinised and last year, she told the New Yorker she "was not up for having my body dissected again". She explains that body shaming was part of the reason she stepped further behind the camera. "Just being perceived was overwhelming," she says. Dunham has spent the past few years focusing on writing projects that don't centre her as an actor. She believes society has made some strides towards being more body positive, but says the culture we live in is still "so deeply fatphobic, misogynistic, racist and ageist and that informs our dynamic with our body". The 39-year-old has been vocal about challenges she's faced with her health, particularly her endometriosis, which led her to have a hysterectomy aged 31. Asked how her relationship with her body has changed since then, she says she's developed a new love for how she looks. "I've been able to have a relationship with my body that exists outside of the cultural pressures and I feel lucky for that." As well as reflecting on how her self image has changed, Dunham also says she's learned a lot since her 20s. Having been in the spotlight for more than decade, the actress has had her fair share of controversies. In 2017, she defended Girls writer Murray Miller when he was accused of sexual assault. Dunham later apologised, saying it was "absolutely the wrong time" to share her perspective. Miller vehemently denied the claims and was not charged. She also apologised for a "distasteful joke" she had made on a podcast saying she wished she'd experienced a termination when discussing the US abortion. "I thought, back then, it was important to just keep going and be tough no matter what happened," she reflects. "I was so focused on work and not letting any of the noise in but I wish I had allowed myself to take more time and space. We all have to acknowledge our own complexities and sensitivities but it's hard to wrap your head around that when you're in your 20s." Dunham's new 10-episode series stars Hacks actor Megan Stalter and Will Sharpe, best known for playing Ethan Spiller in The White Lotus and films such as A Real Pain. Sharpe, 38, says he relates to the challenges his character faces, as "everyone carries baggage from their previous relationship" and feels vulnerable when they enter a new one. Stalter relates to her character too. The 34-year-old says she often "felt like she was too much" in her 20s but with time, has come to be proud of her who she is. Written with Dunham's husband, musician Luis Felber, Too Much focuses on the evolution of one romantic relationship. It's refreshing in its realness - from serious conversations between Jessica and Felix to the fact Jessica's media salary stretches to a housing estate in east London rather than a Bridget Jones-esque flat in Borough Market. I ask Dunham if she has any dating tips for women in their 20s, given she's been through the rollercoaster of trying to find a life partner. She says the concept of dating has changed over the years, and back in the late noughties, it was "considered a last resort or a strange thing to meet someone online". Looking back, Dunham wishes she would have allowed herself to understand what she really wanted rather than just seeing the cultural expectations that were placed on her. "If I was letting myself understand my own desire, my 20s would have looked really different romantically." Too Much is released on Netflix on 10 July. Way More Women Love Formula 1 Than Ever Before

For the first time in history Formula 1 says around a quarter of its current fanbase is female, growing from just 10% in 2017. The sport is currently in a massive growth phase, particularly in North America and among Gen Z viewers, and this is borne out in the data of the recent Motorsport Formula 1 Fan Survey conducted among over 100,000 self-identified F1 fans. With the sport pushing new boundaries on streaming and social media, the perception of F1 being an Old Boy's Club is diminishing. Fans now have greater access to the machinations of the F1 paddock than ever before, seemingly proving that if you break down the barriers to entry and create initiatives to promote the involvement of women in the sport like F1 Academy (42% of women surveyed follow F1 Academy) or initiatives to promote women within the staff of racing teams, the fans will follow. Formula 1 and its American owner Liberty Media have reaped the benefits with attendance and viewership records breaking seemingly every week and more sponsorship dollars than ever. Among all self-proclaimed new fans included in the survey, 3 out of 4 of them are women. This indicates to me that F1's initiatives to reach young women are working. Women in younger generations are even more enthusiastic and involved with the sport as well, with a full half of Gen Z responses coming from women fans. That Gen Z group is increasingly important for F1's growth and success as more than 70% of Gen Z respondents say they engage with F1 content every single day. This is particularly true in Liberty's home country, the United States, which is riding a wave of F1 momentum right now, accounting for the largest share of respondents from any of the 186 individual countries represented. Read more: Every 2025 Formula 1 Livery, Ranked From Worst To Best The full results of the survey are out now and you should take some time to scroll through all of the amazing factoids that it has brought to bear. According to the survey, just 10% of new fans found the sport through Netflix's "Drive to Survive," while the largest driver of new fan involvement is getting involved through friends and family. Liberty's full-court-press to attract younger viewers and women to the sport is a dramatic difference from what F1 was just a decade ago. Former elderly billionaire sport owner Bernard Charles Ecclestone claimed that F1 didn't need to chase younger viewers. During a 2014 interview, Ecclestone said "We should use social media to promote F1, I just don't know how." He later offered that F1 didn't need to attract a younger audience, because "Young kids will see the Rolex brand, but are they going to go and buy one? They can't afford it." He preferred to chase an older audience because "I'd rather get to the 70-year-old guy who's got plenty of cash." Ecclestone closed his argument by telling advertisers hoping to reach a young and diverse audience to take their advertising dollars to Disney instead. In a somewhat ironic twist of fate, F1 recently inked a multi-billion dollar co-branded licensing deal with Disney, and F1 broadcasts on Walt Disney Company-owned ESPN in the U.S. Want more like this? PSG Plot Major Move for €80M-Rated Arsenal, Al-Nassr Target Amid Real Madrid Doubt

Rodrygo's future at Real Madrid is drawing plenty of interest from top European clubs, with PSG keeping tabs on the situation. Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City are also following the Brazilian winger closely amid growing uncertainty over his role at the Bernabeu. The 23-year-old has started to attract serious attention, especially with Real Madrid expected to make several changes this summer. Advertisement According to a previous report from Sports Zone, the club no longer considers Rodrygo untouchable. His representatives have already held talks with Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool. PSG have also made contact, though their interest appears more cautious for now. More recently, TBR Football reported that Arsenal are becoming increasingly confident about their chances of signing him. Rodrygo is expected to clarify his position after the Club World Cup. Could PSG be preparing for move on Real Madrid star?PSG have reportedly made contact with Rodrygo's representatives in case the Brazilian decides to leave Real Madrid, according to ESPN Brasil. The update comes shortly after Sky Sports reported that Al-Nassr are also pursuing Rodrygo and have already approached his camp. Cristiano Ronaldo—one of Rodrygo's idols—is said to be encouraging the move. Advertisement Despite the Saudi interest, Rodrygo is currently prioritizing a potential move to the Premier League and isn't considering a switch to the Saudi Pro League at this time. Still, Al-Nassr are ready to put a lucrative offer on the table and plan to keep tabs on the situation. Real Madrid are reportedly open to offers, as is often the case, but any deal would need to meet their €80 million valuation. That said, MARCA notes that no club has submitted a formal bid or shown concrete interest so far.
