Joe Rogan is linked to shocking new role despite previously tearing it apart

Daily Mail13-05-2025

Joe Rogan has been linked to the looming return of Fear Factor - despite consistently slamming the show since he last hosted it.
Fox is reworking the iconic NBC program for a modern audience, and when asked whether Rogan will reprise his original role, the network's entertainment president said 'it's too early for us to say.'
Fox Television President Michael Thorn did not deny reaching out to the old show's 'major talent', however - saying the new show was still in its earliest stages.
'We just ordered the series and we are just in the process of hiring showrunners and talking about hosts and everything right now,' Thorn said during a press conference revealing Fox's 2025-2026 schedule Sunday.
'Obviously he's major talent tied to the show, but it's too early for us to say how we're going to move forward right now.'
Thorn, Formerly president of scripted at Fox Entertainment, was also asked why the series was ripe for revival.
After nearly 20 years off the air, Thorn said the series - where contestants battle it out over a series of terrifying stunts - is simply 'a phenomenal title.'
'It's visceral storytelling at its best,' he insisted, despite Rogan saying otherwise. 'And that visceral storytelling really - just as you know, across scripted and unscripted - really works with our audience.
'And the chance to reinvent it with a reality element honestly was a no-brainer.'
Rogan - currently the host of one of the most lucrative podcasts in the world - has yet to comment on the series pickup.
A little-known comic when the old Fear Factor aired, he has an estimated net worth of $200million and a lucrative contract as a commentator with the UFC.
He hosted the NBC version of the show for its duration from 2001 to 2006 - a stint he has spoken of in a negative light
When asked about his time hosting Fear Factor in 2008, Rogan panned the show's concept as 'mindless', telling the Denver Post: 'I enjoyed the money, but I didn't enjoy doing the show.
'It was boring, and after a while, it was mindless. It's not something I would look forward to, but it was a great paycheck.'
When asked he would ever consider again doing a reality show, Rogan did not reject the idea.
Then, in 2011, he rejoined as host for the ill-fated first Fear Factor reboot, which was canceled after just one season.
He later expressed regret over the decision on his eponymous podcast, admitting 'I didn't have as much money back then.
'Also, it was a lot more money than I got the first time.
'It was a big deal that it was gonna come back, but I immediately regretted it,' He added.
'After a while it was like, Jesus Christ, how many animal d**ks can you serve people?'
The show - in its original form - was notorious for its disgusting stunts, which included serving contestants cow testicles.
The new version - which does not have a firm release date - is being billed as 'bigger, bolder and more daring'.
At the scheduling event Sunday, Fox also revealed it had bought the rights of another 2000s game show, The Weakest Link.
The details of both transactions remain under wraps.

Dakota Johnson reveals surprising A-list support after her embarrassing Razzie win for box office disaster Madame Web

Dakota Johnson received the Razzie Award for Worst Actress in 2024 for her role in box office flop Madame Web. And now the 35-year-old actress is opening up about the embarrassing career moment, sharing which A-list star showed her support. Johnson — who is the nepo baby of Melanie Griffith — revealed on Amy Poehler 's Good Hang podcast that Sandra Bullock reached out to her about the disaster. Bullock received the same Worst Actress dishonor in 2010 for her role in All About Steve. In a show of good humor, she attended the event to collect the award. '[She] sent me a voice note being like, "I heard you are in the Razzie club and we should have brunch, we should have a monthly brunch,"' Dakota spilled on Tuesday's episode of Amy's show. The Lost Daughter star also recalled how she reacted to Sandra's voice note. 'I freaked out getting this message from her because she's so iconic to me, as like a movie star. I was like, "Oh my God." I was just crazy,' she said. Last year Dakota was said to have infuriated her Madame Web bosses by making multiple public digs at the Marvel movie amid its poor performance. She played the titular superhero in the $80million production, which was ripped to shreds by critics and viewers alike following its Valentine's Day 2024 release. About a month into its theatrical premiere, it had only grossed $40 million domestically. It had one of the lowest superhero debuts in recent history, taking in a modest $15.1 million in its opening weekend. Elsewhere in the Good Hang appearance, the silver screen siren chatted about the franchise that launched her to fame — Fifty Shades of Grey. She told Amy she is 'always psyched' to shoot the movies' steamy moments. When asked how she hypes herself up for portraying the act on camera, she answered: 'I don't have to. I'm, like, always psyched up for sex.' She noted that lessons she learned from her mother have spilled into her entertainment career. 'I want to feel good in my body,' she said. 'If I'm showing my body... my mom raised to me to be really, really proud of my body and love my body, so I've always felt so grateful for that, especially in my work, because I can use it and it feels real.' Johnson added, 'She also talked to me about sex and how precious and important [it is]. 'So I guess in my work... it's something that I feel brave with and that I feel when it's used the right way in a story, it's important.'

WNBA star Cameron Brink issues furious response to fan who accused her of prioritizing 'red carpets' over ACL injury rehab

Cameron Brink offered an angry response to a fan who accused the WNBA player of prioritizing 'red carpets and schmoozing' over her injury rehab. Brink, the No. 2 pick in last year's WNBA Draft, has been sidelined since she tore her ACL in a game last June. And with the forward yet to play for her LA Sparks this season, one fan suggested on social media that her focus was in the wrong place. 'She should've been back on the court now, and something tells me that if she put as much work into rehab as she puts into walking down red carpets and schmoozing, she'd be back by now,' the fan wrote in the comment, which Brink shared to her Instagram story on Monday. The commenter also wrote that Brink made 'public appearances with no brace, crutches or anything' after her left ACL procedure last year. And while the former Stanford star claimed she 'usually' doesn't 'give energy to this type of stuff,' she wrote to her 1.4million followers that the commenter was 'not a real fan.' 'I'm working INCREDIBLY hard every day,' Brink wrote. 'I would give anything to be out on the court right now. Basketball is my passion and everything to me… to say this you aren't a real fan. 'Thank you to those who understand ACLs can take a year & giving me grace. I cannot wait until I get to play again.' Brink, who became a massive beneficiary of the new NIL rules while in college, has kept busy off the court while recovering from her injury. Last year, she posed for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit's 2025 issue and also went to France for Paris Fashion Week. More recently, she graced the cover of PLAYERS magazine, as she donned a black suit and opened-up grey undershirt with a cigarette in her mouth. Skims also modeled for SKIMS last year alongside fellow WNBA players like Skylar Diggins-Smith and Kelsey Plum. Although Brink has missed her team's first 10 games of the season, she has traveled with the team and cheered them on in some eye-catching outfits. Her coach, Lynne Roberts, said after a practice earlier this month that Brink was doing on-court work, but added that there was no date set for her return. The Sparks lost in overtime on Monday to the Valkyries to fall to just 3-7 on the year. Their next game is at the Aces on Wednesday.
