SEGA has teamed up with Limited Run Games to launch a premium Collector's Edition of Sonic Racing CrossWorlds for the Nintendo Switch. Set at a price of $249.99, pre-orders will open soon via the Limited Run Games website and remain available until Sunday, July 6, 2025.
This special edition comes packed with a mix of digital content and physical collectibles. Buyers will receive a Season Pass and a code to unlock Sonic the Werehog, complete with a themed vehicle and decal. Also included are a Sonic and Shadow Racing Statue, a SteelBook case, a hardcover art book, a two-disc soundtrack, and an IDW tie-in comic featuring exclusive cover art.
The collection also features a Sonic-themed rear-view mirror dangler, a King Boom Boo keychain, foil trading cards showcasing the game's racers and their vehicles, and a chrome stick-on car emblem with game-inspired iconography.
Beyond the physical extras, Sonic Racing CrossWorlds expands the franchise's gameplay with new features and its most ambitious scope to date. Classic multi-terrain racing across land, sea, and air returns, enhanced by a new mechanic called Travel Rings, which transport players to alternate tracks mid-race, creating dynamic race environments.

Free post-launch updates will bring additional racers, including fan-favorite characters from franchises like Persona 5 Royal and Like a Dragon, as well as guests like Hatsune Miku.
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds launches worldwide for Nintendo Switch on September 25, 2025, both at retail and on the Nintendo eShop. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is in development, with a paid upgrade path available for early adopters.

Pokémon Legends Z-A introduces four-player Z-A Battle Club with ranked Link Battles

Pokémon Legends: Z-A will introduce a new multiplayer feature called the Z-A Battle Club, allowing up to four Trainers to compete in fast-paced battles when the game launches on October 16 2025. Available in both the standard Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 editions, the mode offers players a new way to test their skills online or locally. In the Z-A Battle Club, Trainers face off in three-minute Link Battles, aiming to defeat as many Pokémon as possible within the time limit. Each defeated Pokémon earns a point, and these points contribute to rankings. All participating Pokémon can make use of a wide variety of moves, and Trainers will also be able to Mega Evolve their Pokémon using Mega Power orbs that appear during battles. Matches begin with Trainers positioned across the stage, sending Pokémon into the fray. If a Pokémon faints, its Trainer returns to their starting point, where their team is fully restored before rejoining the battle. Items that temporarily boost stats can also be collected throughout the match. The battle system combines real-time movement with strategic use of attacks. Moves vary in their effects, with some covering a fixed radius to strike multiple targets and others travelling in straight lines to reach distant opponents. Trainers are encouraged to adapt their strategy to maximise their advantage. Players can compete in Ranked Battles, starting from Rank Z and climbing to Rank A by earning points through victories and performance. Private Battles are also available, allowing friends to play together using Link Codes and customised rules. The Z-A Battle Club is featured in the latest trailer for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, giving fans a first look at the competitive four-player format ahead of the game's release in October.

UFO 50 launches on Nintendo Switch 2 after surprise Indie World Showcase reveal

Nintendo's latest Indie World Showcase included a surprise announcement as Mossmouth's UFO 50 arrived on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 immediately after the event. The game is available now for $25 via the Nintendo eShop. Originally released on PC in 2024, UFO 50 was recognised by CNET as one of the year's standout indie titles. The game is notable for featuring 50 different retro-inspired 8-bit style games spanning genres such as platformers, shooters, and role-playing games. Each title was created by a different independent developer but is tied together by the fictional backstory of UFOSoft, a make-believe studio that supposedly produced the games decades ago without releasing them. Some of the included titles are designed for single-player experiences, while others support multiplayer gameplay. Although the collection draws heavily on the look and feel of classic NES-era games, Mossmouth has incorporated modern design elements to ensure the games appeal to contemporary audiences. In addition to UFO 50, the Indie World Showcase revealed more than a dozen other indie titles. Highlights included Little Kitty, Big City, Content Warning, Winter Burrow, and Mina the Hollower. Release dates vary, with some arriving in the coming weeks and others scheduled for 2026. A physical edition of UFO 50 is also available for preorder through Fangamer for $35. Players can choose to experience the collection on either the original Nintendo Switch or the newer Switch 2, with both versions offering the full set of games. Nintendo's presentation once again demonstrated its commitment to bringing a wide range of independent titles to its consoles, with UFO 50's surprise launch standing out as one of the event's most unexpected announcements.
