Selena Gomez reveals unexpected reaction to first kiss with fiancé Benny Blanco ahead of wedding
Selena Gomez has opened up about the beginning of her relationship with fiancé Benny Blanco, sharing a candid moment from their early days as a couple.
Speaking on the latest episode of the Table Manners podcast with Jessie and Lennie Ware, Gomez and Blanco reflected on their first kiss, which took place during their second date.
'We were sitting in the living room on the couch and playing 'We're Not Really Strangers,'' said Blanco. 'There was a card that said 'Take a selfie with the person next to you.' She got on my chest to take the photo and right after, I said, 'I got to kiss this girl.' And I kissed her right away.'
Gomez, 32, described the moment as both exciting and embarrassing. 'It was a very good kiss,' she said, before revealing how her nerves showed physically. Blanco added, 'Right away, her heart started beating quickly, she started getting a rash on her face and she was so nervous.'
Gomez said the moment was meaningful because she had not felt that way about anyone in years. 'Some kisses are for fun and then when you feel something behind the kiss it's completely different,' she said. 'I didn't want to be like, 'I like you, I really like you.''
The couple confirmed their relationship in December 2023 and announced their engagement a year later, with Gomez posting a photo of her diamond ring and writing, 'Forever begins now.' They first met in 2013 through Gomez's mother and later worked together on tracks from her 2015 album Revival.

Benny Blanco dreaming of kids with Selena Gomez amid health challenges
Music producer Benny Blanco has opened up about his desire to start a family with partner Selena Gomez, even as the couple keeps wedding plans private. In a recent InStyle interview, Blanco said he's 'dreaming and praying' about becoming a father. 'I love kids; I love being an uncle. I want to be a dad, though, God willing,' he shared. Gomez has previously spoken candidly about her challenges with motherhood. In a Vanity Fair interview, she revealed she is unable to carry children due to medical complications stemming from lupus and bipolar disorder. Pregnancy could pose serious risks to her health and the baby's. 'That was something I had to grieve for a while,' she admitted. Still, Gomez remains determined to become a mother, considering adoption and surrogacy as meaningful alternatives. Her own mother was adopted, a fact she's called a 'blessing' in their family. Despite medical challenges, the couple is building a future together—starting with their $35 million Spanish-style estate in Beverly Hills, which Blanco has been filling with 'creativity and heart.' 'I love making a house my own,' he said, emphasizing the importance of comfort and authenticity. Blanco also reflected on his emotional growth, shaped by his upbringing with a single mother. He credits her with helping him understand women's emotional needs. 'A woman will tell you exactly what she needs,' he noted, emphasizing the value of listening and mutual respect. Reflecting on past relationships, he added that learning through trial and error taught him what not to do—and ultimately led him to Gomez.

Hailey Bieber addresses Selena Gomez stalking rumors with joke in Vogue interview
Rumors of tension between Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez have circulated for years, fueled by fan speculation surrounding their respective relationships with Justin Bieber. Online theories and social media scrutiny have long linked the two stars, often amplifying unfounded narratives. Recently, Hailey Bieber addressed one such rumor — that she has been "stalking" Gomez — with humor during a Vogue interview. "admitting" Bby she's making fun of you and we're right here laughing WITH her 💀 — ☆🫧☆ (@jbiebersstan) May 20, 2025 Appearing in Vogue's 'In the Bag?' segment, Bieber lightheartedly responded to ongoing fan theories while showcasing what she carries daily. After pulling out her phone featuring the newly launched Rhode lip case, she revealed five more phones from her bag. 'I really just use them for a lot of the simple stuff, like surfing anonymously, commenting, stalking, viewing girls' pages, making multiple accounts,' she said playfully, seemingly referencing the long-standing rumors of her monitoring Gomez's activity online. During the segment, Bieber also unveiled a 'tincture potion' she claimed was gifted by a witch when she was 12. She joked that the potion made 'a young Canadian pop star fall in love' with her — another likely nod to her husband, Justin Bieber, and the media's obsession with his past relationship with Gomez. The online tension resurfaced again in March, when a content creator claimed that Bieber had liked a TikTok video mocking Gomez and her fiancé, Benny Blanco. Bieber's representative denied the claim, calling it 'fabricated by a content creator looking to capitalize off of an old, tired narrative.' Elsewhere in the interview, Bieber dismissed recent divorce rumors and candidly discussed her postpartum experience following the birth of her son, Jack Blues Bieber.

Selena Gomez unfollows best friend Theresa Marie after dinner sighting with fiancé Benny Blanco
Selena Gomez has unfollowed her longtime best friend, Theresa Marie, on Instagram, prompting speculation among fans about a possible falling out. The move comes after fans spotted Theresa dining with Gomez's fiancé, music producer Benny Blanco. The unfollow was first noticed by a fan on Twitter, who pointed out Theresa's absence from Gomez's following list. Theresa, however, continues to follow the singer. She was last seen on Gomez's Instagram in March, when the two appeared together at a birthday party with mutual friend Anna Collins. A fan shared footage on TikTok of Theresa and Blanco dining together. The post quickly sparked speculation in the comments section. While some questioned the nature of the dinner and whether it hinted at issues in Gomez and Blanco's relationship, others suggested it could have been an innocent or even thoughtful meeting. As of now, Gomez's representatives have not issued a comment on the matter. Gomez and Theresa's friendship dates back at least five years. In 2019, the singer posted a heartfelt tribute to Theresa on Instagram, crediting her with bringing positivity and strength into her life. 'She has taught me how to see life in a fun, carefree and uplifting way… She is beautiful, kind and smart,' Gomez wrote. The development follows Gomez's recent comments on the Table Manners podcast, where she revealed she had felt 'alone' for years after her breakup with Justin Bieber. She said she hadn't liked anyone in a long time until meeting Benny Blanco, which made their first kiss feel deeply emotional.
