Palestinian Media Forum: Israeli enemy deliberately blocks media coverage to conceal its crimes in Gaza
Mohammed Yasin, Director of the Palestinian Media Forum, criticized on Wednesday the practices of the Israeli enemy, describing them as a systematic attempt to cover up the crimes committed in the Gaza Strip by restricting press freedom and preventing media outlets from reporting the truth about the ongoing destruction and humanitarian suffering.
In a statement to the Palestinian news agency "Saba," Yasin said this policy represents a "double crime," as the Israeli enemy not only commits violations against civilians but also seeks to obscure the truth and prevent the world from seeing the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe.
Yasin emphasized that press freedom is a right guaranteed under international law, including the Geneva Conventions, which explicitly protect journalists during armed conflicts. He stressed that restricting this right constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.
He called on international media institutions, human rights organizations, and the United Nations to take immediate action to stop these repressive measures and ensure freedom of media work in Gaza.
Yasin also saluted Palestinian journalists who continue to carry out their duties despite threats and dangers, urging the international community to provide them with real protection to ensure the truth continues to reach the world.

Slovenia Announces Ban on Arms Trade with Israel
Ljubljana - Saba: Slovenia announced Thursday evening that it will ban all arms-related trade with Israel due to the war on the Gaza Strip, a move described as the first of its kind by a European Union country. A statement issued by Prime Minister Robert Golube's office confirmed the decision, which he initiated during a government session held earlier Thursday. Under the new decision, all weapons and military equipment sent from Slovenia to, imported from, or transited through Israel are prohibited. This move comes amid growing criticism of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and as a result of the European Union's inability to take concrete action regarding Israel. The statement added: "Due to internal disagreements and divisions, the European Union is currently unable to fulfill this task." Earlier Thursday, the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Israeli ambassador to protest the dire humanitarian catastrophe caused by the restrictions on urgent humanitarian aid access to Gaza. Prominent German Figures Call on Chancellor to Stop Deaths in Gaza
Berlin - Saba: More than 200 prominent figures in Germany called on Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Thursday evening to stop the deaths in the Gaza Strip. More than 200 prominent figures, including actors and musicians, published an open letter to Merz on the Avaaz platform titled "Don't Let Gaza Die," according to the Palestinian Safa News Agency. The letter highlighted "the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza, from hunger, disease, bombing, and daily death." It noted that Merz had recently taken a position criticizing the Israeli government, but "it is clear that words alone do not save lives." On Tuesday, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stressed the need for Israel to act quickly to improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and provide humanitarian aid to the suffering citizens there. He stated that he has been dissatisfied for weeks with the Israeli government's practices in the Gaza Strip, including the establishment of a so-called "humanitarian city" in the city of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip. The letter called for "following words with action," halting arms exports to Israel, supporting the suspension of the EU-Israel partnership agreement, and insisting on an immediate ceasefire and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid.
