Pedestrian hit by car and swept into river found 150m from Jalan Ipoh crash site
Police has yet to confirm the victim's identity, pending post-mortem

KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 — The body of a pedestrian who fell into a river after being hit by a car along Jalan Ipoh has been found.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the body was located about 150 metres from the crash site this morning, New Straits Times reported.
'The body has been sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for post-mortem,' he was quoted as saying, adding that the victim's identity is yet unknown.
He said the case has now been reclassified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
The incident took place at about 11.45am yesterday when a Nissan Sylphy driven by a 39-year-old Bangladeshi man heading from the Batu Muda People's Housing Project lost control of the car near the Kepong roundabout and struck the pedestrian before falling under a bridge and getting caught between concrete structures and iron pipes.
The Nissan Sylphy also collided with the front right side of a Toyota Camry, driven by a 43-year-old Vietnamese woman from the direction of Batu Kentomen.
The multi-agency search was carried out by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall, police, Fire and Rescue Department, and the Civil Defence Force.

The incident in Virginia occurred as millions took part in coordinated "No Kings" protests from coast to coast, criticizing the Trump administration. The "No Kings" marches, rallies and demonstrations were organized to coincide with the Army's "Grand Military Parade and Celebration, which falls on Trump's 79th birthday and Flag Day. Several years ago, a car drove into a crowd of counterprotesters about an hour from Culpeper in Charlottesville, Virginia, killing a demonstrator. James Alex Fields Jr. was convicted of killing a woman named Heather Heyer, after intentionally driving into a group protesting a 'Unite the Right' rally in Charlottesville on Aug. 12, 2017. Fields was convicted of first-degree and eight other charges, including aggravated malicious wounding and hit and run. Heyer, a 32-year-old paralegal and civil rights activist, was killed, and nearly three dozen were injured during the attack. Officials received calls of the pedestrian crash on I-94 near East Grand Boulevard around 2:50 a.m. Investigators say the man, from Ferndale, Michigan, lost control of the Ford Mustang he was driving. The incident resulted in the vehicle blocking a lane. Police say the man then got out of his vehicle. He was standing near the trunk of the Mustang when he was hit by a 39-year-old woman driving a Ford Fusion. The impact caused the man to go over a median wall. 4-year-old suffers injuries after being struck by vehicle
A 4-year-old was struck by a driver who left the scene of the incident Tuesday, June 10, in the 1600 block of Edgewood Drive. The victim was taken to a local hospital by family members before police arrived and was listed as stable at that time, but was transferred to a hospital in Urbana. DPD Deputy Chief Terry McCord said a witness described a red SUV driving recklessly by 20-year-old Tyran A. Coe of Danville. The vehicle struck the juvenile and then left the scene of the crash. The vehicle was located unoccupied about two blocks from the scene of the incident. At around 10:50 p.m., Coe arrived at the Public Safety Building and turned himself in to the Danville Police Department. He was booked at the Vermilion County Jail on charges of Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Aggravated Reckless Driving. The Danville Police Department urges anyone with information about this incident to call 217-431-2250. The Danville Police Department reminds the public that all individuals arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
