‘Alia took Ahaan-Aneet's numbers and…': Mohit Suri reveals Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's first reaction to Saiyaara
In a recent chat with NDTV, Mohit Suri revealed that he had invited Alia Bhatt to the screening of Saiyaara, but she was adamant to watch it in theatres after release. Mohit was quoted saying, 'Yes, she went to watch it in the theatre. I was inviting her to a trial screening, but she said no, she would watch it in the theatre. After watching it in the theatre, she praised it a lot. She took the numbers of both actors and spoke to them.' He went on to add, 'She also showed the film to Ranbir. Alia has been supporting this film from the beginning because she felt it carries the same emotional depth that I often infuse in my own films. She has been very supportive throughout my career, actually.'
After watching Saiyaara with Alia, Ranbir personally called Mohit and praised the film. Mohit revealed how Ranbir told him to take it easy for now because the filmmaker still has to make a lot of films. We are sure fans, who are eagerly waiting for Mohit's next, would agree with Ranbir. For now, the team is enjoying the love received by Saiyaara, with lead stars Aneet and Ahaan blowing off steam on their respective vacations.

Son of Sardaar 2 box office collection day 4: Devgn's film sees a drop
Son of Sardaar 2, a comedy film starring Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur, is up against fierce competition at the box office. The movie is struggling to keep up with box office titans like Dhadak 2, Saiyaara, and Mahavatar Narsimha. Weekdays have caused a significant drop in the movie's box office collection. The original release date of Son of Sardaar 2 was July 25. However, the movie's release was delayed for unspecified reasons. On August 1, it had its big-screen debut. Both reviewers and viewers gave the movie mixed reviews. Son of Sardaar 2 box office collection • Day 1 (Friday): ₹7.25 crore • Day 2 (Saturday): ₹8.25 crore • Day 3 (Sunday): ₹9.25 crore • Day 4 (Monday): ₹2.50 crore (early estimates) • Day 5 (Tuesday): ₹0.01 crore (estimated live data). Total Net Collection (5 Days): Approximately ₹27.26 crore The total amount collected worldwide was ₹34.75 crore. On day three, the Indian box office was ₹29.75 crore, while the overseas collection was ₹5 crore. Son of Sardaar 2 box office 'occupancy' On Day 4 (August 4, 2025), the movie's Hindi occupancy rate since its premiere was 11.81%. Compared to the first weekend, when the movie had an overall Hindi occupancy of 34.90% on Sunday (Day 3), this is a notable decline. While attendance was moderate in Chennai, Pune, and Bengaluru, the NCR region also did well. The occupancy rate for morning shows on day four was only 10.24%, but it increased steadily to 17.88% in the afternoon, 21.84% in the evening, and 40.27% at night. According to Mint, Jaipur and Lucknow had high occupancy rates on Sunday. While large metros like Delhi-NCR (30.50%) and Mumbai (20.25%) had significantly lower turnout, Tier-2 cities like Lucknow (39%) and Jaipur (37%) led in occupancy on Day 4. About Son of Sardaar 2 The plot of the sequel to the 2012 smash film Son of Sardaar centres on Ajay's character, Jassi, who is summoned to London by his wife (Neeru Bajwa), only to be taken by surprise when she demands a divorce. He meets Rabia (Mrunal Thakur), a lively member of an all-girl wedding dhol band, while stranded and devastated. Saba (Roshni Walia), Rabia's younger sister, is in love with the son of the strict and conventional Raja (Ravi Kishan), who demands that she visit her parents before approving her. The issue? Saba's parents had passed away. Rabia plays the mother, and Jassi agrees to pretend to be her father, an ex-army colonel, to maintain the romance. The rollercoaster of twists, emotional beats, and drama that follows is both amusing and crazy. Critics gave the movie mixed reviews. Nonetheless, both reviewers and viewers praised the comedic timing and performances of Deepak Dobriyal, Sanjay Mishra, and Ravi Kishan.

Mohit Suri, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's ‘Saiyaara' becomes 16th biggest hit of Hindi cinema surpassing Salman Khan's ‘Sultan' and Deepika Padukone's ‘Padmaavat'
Saiyaara, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda and directed by Mohit Suri, has achieved remarkable success, grossing Rs 302.25 crore in 18 days. The romantic drama has surpassed blockbusters like Padmaavat and Sultan, becoming the 16th highest-grossing Hindi film. This triumph marks a significant comeback for Suri and establishes Panday and Padda as promising talents in Bollywood. In what can only be described as a dream launch for Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda and a triumphant comeback for director Mohit Suri , Saiyaara has stormed its way into Bollywood's elite box office club. With a staggering Rs 302.25 crore in just 18 days, the romantic drama has now become the 16th highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, surpassing even blockbuster biggies like Padmaavat and Sultan. Mohit Suri Spills On 20 Years In Bollywood - Ahaan & Aneet, Alia Bhatt Dream Collab & More The film opened to a solid Rs 21.5 crore on its first Friday, but it was the weekend that truly catapulted its fortunes. With Rs 26 crore on Saturday and a staggering Rs 35.75 crore on Sunday, Saiyaara raked in Rs 172.75 crore in its opening week — one of the most impressive debut weeks in recent memory. While the second week did witness a typical drop, the collections remained steady with Rs 107.75 crore coming in. The third weekend showed resilience, with strong Saturday (Rs 6.75 crore) and Sunday (Rs 8 crore) numbers, and even Monday held with Rs 2.5 crore, taking the 18-day total to Rs 302.25 crore. By crossing the Rs 300 crore mark, Saiyaara has dethroned blockbusters like Ranveer Singh , Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor's Padmaavat ( Rs 302.15 ) and Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma led Sultan ( Rs 300 .45 ) crore. If the film holds steady into its fourth weekend it can challenge films like War, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Tiger Zinda Hai. The film's success also marks an emphatic return to form for director Mohit Suri, whose previous outings had seen lukewarm receptions. With Saiyaara, he revisits the emotional storytelling that once defined hits like Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain.
