GURNEE, Ill. — Charges have been brought against a 36-year-old man in connection with a road rage shooting that killed a Southern Illinois Student in 2021.
22-year-old Daniel Lobo was home for Thanksgiving break when he was shot and killed just after 12 a.m. on Nov. 20, 2021.
A road rage incident near the intersection of Waveland Avenue and Grandview Avenue escalated when an occupant of one vehicle opened fire.
Lobo, who was a passenger in the second vehicle, was struck in the back. He was transported to Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan, where he later died.
'Daniel Lobo was preparing to graduate later that spring. His life was senselessly cut short in a moment of violence that shocked the community,' the Gurnee Police Department said.
The Gurnee Police Department, along with the Lake County Major Crime Task Force, launched an investigation into the incident. Criminal charges against Llovani Gomez in connection to the shooting were approved.
Gomez, a 36-year-old from Chicago, is currently in custody for an unrelated offense. He has been charged with the following:
First Degree Murder
Attempt First Degree Murder
Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm
'This marks an important step in pursuing justice for Daniel and his family,' Gurnee Police Chief Brian Smith said. 'From the moment this tragedy occurred, our department has been committed to uncovering the truth and holding those responsible accountable.'

14 Stories About People Who Slept With Their Friend's Mom

I came accross this Reddit thread where u/keyjeyelpi asked "People who've had sex with their SO/ex/friend's parent, how the hell did you get to that point? What happened after?" Me being a nosy nelly had to, of course, read the stories. And they were JUICY. Here are the most scandalous ones about people who slept with their friend's mom: "A friend's mom, going through some tough times with her husband, 'accidentally' added one of our friends on Facebook. She started flirting with him, and eventually they hooked up. After this kept going on for a couple of months, the dude decided to tell his friend (her son) about it at his house. The son cried, they threw hands at each other, and everything was alright moments later. I don't really know what happened after that—I lost contact with both of them." "My brother's best friend from high school dated my mom in his 30s. She had my brother really young, when she was barely 15, so when his friend was in his 30s, she wasn't yet 50. I will always remember the night he found out. They fought, and my brother's friend left the house and got into his car. My brother followed him out and punched him in the head through the driver-side window. He managed to go through the window and still connect with enough force to knock him out cold." "In my late 20s, I had a friend in a small mountain town in the western U.S. His mom got separated and moved in with him. She was mildly flirtatious with me—no big deal. Not enough to raise any red flags. I changed jobs and moved to the city, 90 miles south. He came on weekends to party a few times—normal stuff. Then he came to the party and brought her. At her request, we had sex all night while he was passed out in the next room. Major violation of bro code by me, but she asked nicely. No surprise we weren't friends after that." "A friend of mine's mom basically hit on a number of us in the group, and sadly, it just became kind of a matter of time before one of us caved—and it eventually happened. He saw it coming. I feel bad for him. Recently divorced, mid-30s, hot mom, and a group of 18-year-olds. It wasn't me who did it." "I went over to apologize for divorcing her daughter. She was single and a habitual flirt who had divorced her husband after their marriage fell apart. I kinda got a vibe I could sleep with her, and when she answered the door wearing only a long T-shirt—even though she knew I was coming over— one thing led to another. She was a far better lay than my ex-wife. And that was it. Haven't spoken to her since." "I had sex with one of my best friend's moms. It was Thanksgiving, and I was driving her back home when she confessed that she hadn't had sex in years since she was a widow. I told her I hadn't had sex in months since I was moving. We talked a bit more, and we sorta flirted. Once we got to her house, she asked me to come inside, and we did the deed." "My coworker that I slept with set me up with her mom. This is kind of an awkward one. I helped a coworker move. After all was said and done, we had a drink and got to talking. She ended up going down on me, and we slept together a couple of times after. We eventually stopped and had almost no contact for about a year. I made a satirical post on Facebook about the dating pool being, quote, 'a pond of acid full of robot piranha with lava for piss,' and she messaged me saying her mom was looking for a guy. I figured, okay, screw it—why not? I like cougars. I started talking to her mom, we hit it off, and she asked me to come over. I had no idea my former coworker lived with her. So—awkward. After a couple of hours hanging out, her mom invited me into the bedroom. Still awkward. Next thing I know, I'm fucking her mom while she's out in the other room watching TV." "I went to a party with a friend who introduced me to a young lady a couple of years older than me. We kinda hit it off through conversation. She explained how she and my friend knew each other and how frequently he'd hang out at her house. She also explained how she and her mom basically lived alone because her dad was bedridden on a machine in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Long story short, she came home early one day to find that my friend was there, having relations with her mom. That pretty much ended our newly budding romance, and my friend is now heavy into the church." "My partner had sex with her friend's mom. This was years before we met, but the way she tells it is that she was basically propositioned by her friend's mom, who had never been with a woman and wanted to give it a go. My partner obliged and said that her friend's mom was cool with it, but realized she was definitely straight. They said goodbye, it never happened again, and her friend will never know." "I was flicking through a hookup app—might have been Tinder, maybe Badoo or Bumble, I can't remember. I didn't have a face photo on my profile, and I matched with someone nearby who also didn't have a photo up. She said she was living with someone, but it wasn't going anywhere, and she was looking for NSA hookups. I said that was all I wanted—just a new FWB. She dropped a pic, and I recognized her immediately. I play in a band, and sometimes a young guy fills in for us if someone can't make a gig. It was his mom. While I didn't know him that well, I still considered the guy a friend—and this was his mother. I'm in my late 20s, he's 17. She's in her late 40s. I explained that it might be a little awkward and that we knew each other, then told her who I was. She didn't seem to mind. She just said, 'Well, I can keep a secret as well as you can,' and sent me a bunch of nudes. That was it—I was in." "I had casual sex with one of my friend's moms and one of my guitar students' moms when I was in my early 20s. The friend's mom was a bit odd, and it only happened once. The friend doesn't know. His father had died recently, and his mom was lonely, and I was helping out with things around the house. Like many of the other stories here, we had a drink after working on some projects, and next thing you know—we're in the bedroom." "My friend, who was in his 20s, slept with our friend's mum, who was in her late 40s. She goes for young lads. She was a mother figure to me. Her son has never liked the guy since, and he told him never to do it again. It's not spoken of often. I think it's hilarious." "My ex-husband cheated on me with my mother. I question the same thing: how the hell did either of you ever think for one minute that was okay? They didn't think." And finally, "I went home with an older lady from a bar in college. Smoking hot. In the morning, I was looking at pictures on the wall and realized she was the mother of a girl I had dated briefly. She had been divorced for 5–6 years. They actually thought it was funny that they had both hooked up with me. I tried so hard for the threesome, but it never happened." How did you end up sleeping with your friend's mom or dad? One of NE Ohio's most notorious killers wants out of prison — again

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — One of Northeast Ohio's most notorious killers is making a bid to get out of prison, again. Doug Prade, a former Akron police captain convicted of killing his ex-wife, Dr. Margo Prade, will have his first parole hearing Wednesday, June 4. Ground beef sold nationwide possibly contaminated with E. Coli Prade is serving 20 years to life at the Marion Correctional Institution. He was convicted of his-ex-wife's murder in 1998. Last week, Fox 8's Dave Nethers, spoke with one of the Prades' dearest friends. Donzella Anuszkiewicz, who also is a former federal investigator said, 'There's no doubt in my mind that he did it.' Woman dies from brain-eating amoeba in tap water The Prades had divorced, but friends, family, and court testimony show he continued to harass and threaten his ex-wife. 'We were very afraid for Margo,' said Anuszkiewicz. On the day before Thanksgiving 1997, Margo was shot six times inside her minivan parked outside of her Akron medical office. Doug Prade has maintained his innocence and in 2013 his conviction was overturned. Your Ohio electric bills are probably going up in June He was released from prison based on DNA evidence related to a bite mark on Dr. Prade's lab coat. Eighteen months later, he was back behind bars. That evidence was rejected. Wednesday, Prade will go before a parole committee, a small group of parole board members, who will hear his plea for release. Within days, they will make a recommendation to the full board. If they recommend parole, there will be a full hearing with lawyers and victims permitted to speak. Six years ago, when Doug Prade's appeals were rejected by the Ohio Supreme Court, then Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh said the former police captain was right where he belonged. 'It was just a vicious murder and he deserves to serve a very long time in prison,' said Walsh. 'He had been harassing her, He had been illegally wiretapping her phone, threatening her, and assaulting her. She was terrified of him.' Traditionally, the inmate is allowed to have an attorney present at the parole committee hearing, however, only Doug Prade will be permitted to speak. The committee will then make a recommendation to the full parole board in the coming days. If they favor release, they'll hold the larger hearing before making a final decision. Davenport man sentenced for eluding

A Davenport man who spent Thanksgiving 2024 in the Scott County Jail after police say he led them on a chase at over 90 mph has been sentenced. Court records show Treveon Slater entered guilty pleas to charges of eluding speed over 25 mph over the limit and operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent in early February 2025. A Scott County judge sentenced him on May 29 to a period of five years in the Iowa Department of Corrections for a period of five years, with credit for time served in the Scott County Jail. He was fined $1,025 plus a 15% crime surcharge. He was sentenced to a period of two years in the Iowa Department of Corrections, with credit for time served. He was also fined $855 plus a 15% crime surcharge. The sentences were suspended, and Slater was placed on probation for three years. He must obtain a mental health evaluation and complete any recommended treatment, complete the Residential Corrections Facility program and complete the Victim Impact Panel through QCALM. A high speed chase in November 2024 On November 22, 2024 at about 1:30 a.m., Davenport Police saw a Dodge Durango with no license plates and heavily tinted windows traveling east on East Locust Street from Bridge Avenue. Officers tried to initiate a traffic stop but the SUV began accelerating away from them. The SUV reached reported speeds of 90+ mph in a 35 mph zone and ran multiple stop signs. The driver was identified as Slater, who drove the wrong way on Bridge Avenue and the Centennial Bridge. It then struck a 'pedestrian vehicle' at West River Drive and Bridge Avenue, and left off.
