Raegan Beers again scores 30 as No. 16 Oklahoma women crush Arkansas 94-54 for 5th straight victory
Beers scored a career-high 30 three days earlier in a 101-81 victory over Vanderbilt. She became the first Sooner to reach 30 points in back-to-back games since Courtney Paris accomplished the feat as a sophomore in 2007. The junior made 12 of 14 shots against Arkansas, including a career-high three 3-pointers without a miss and added seven rebounds.
Sahara Williams finished with 15 points and six rebounds for the Sooners (21-6, 9-5 Southeastern Conference). Skylar Vann had 12 points, six rebounds and five assists. Payton Verhulst totaled 12 points, four assists and three steals.
Izzy Higginbottom, fifth in the nation with a 23.6 scoring average, had 22 points on 8-for-21 shooting for the Razorbacks (9-20, 2-12), who have lost six in a row and 10 of their last 11.
Beers had nine points and Vann scored eight as Oklahoma took a 23-15 lead after one quarter. Higginbottom had three of Arkansas' four baskets and scored nine.
Higginbottom had back-to-back baskets to get the Razorbacks within 25-21 early in the second quarter, but Verhulst buried a 3-pointer to cap a 7-0 run and the Sooners led by double digits with 5:50 left. Jenna Lawrence hit a 3-pointer in the final minute and Arkansas closed to within 40-32 at the break.
Beers scored 10 in a 17-3 run to close out the third quarter and Oklahoma led 72-48. The Sooners ended the game on a 9-0 run, outscoring the Razorbacks 54-22 in the second half.
Oklahoma plays at Florida on Thursday. Arkansas will host Missouri on Thursday.

ATU alum returns to student affairs as recreation director ahead of new facility opening
Pete Kelly, a longtime faculty member and former student affairs leader at Arkansas Tech University, has been appointed director of campus recreation, effective Aug. 19. Kelly will continue teaching in the Department of Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science through the fall 2025 semester before transitioning full-time into his new role on Dec. 18. His appointment comes ahead of the spring 2026 opening of the 70,000-square-foot Ferguson Student Union, where campus recreation facilities will be a central feature. 'I am humbled and honored to work again within student affairs,' Kelly said. 'How amazing it is that I get to work with so many outstanding individuals who will be a part of this new era of Tech with the opening of the Ferguson Student Union? I am extremely blessed.' A 1988 graduate of Ola High School, Kelly enrolled at Arkansas Tech as a first-generation student from a low-income background, often walking or hitchhiking from his Yell County home to classes. He earned his bachelor's degree in health and physical education in 1993 and a master's degree in 1996 before beginning his career in student affairs. Through the years, Kelly oversaw intramural sports, advanced to associate dean of students and director of student life, and later moved into full-time teaching in 2011. He currently serves as senior instructor of health and physical education. His return to student affairs places him at the helm of a department that aims 'to provide opportunities for a diversified population to recreate, exercise, and socialize' through programs such as intramural sports, fitness, outdoor recreation, club sports and special events. Until the Ferguson Student Union opens, Kelly's office will remain in the current campus recreation building at 513 W. L Street. The new facility will feature basketball courts, fitness rooms, a spin class studio, free weights, multiple cardio areas, semi-private workout spaces, a turf training area and locker rooms. Outdoor recreation also will have a dedicated space in the union, offering equipment such as bikes, canoes, kayaks, hammocks and tents, along with guided excursions. Kelly said the new role is an opportunity to honor mentors who shaped his early career, including the late Travis Adams and Steve Lawrence, and Jimmy and Cindi Ferguson, for whom the new student union is named. 'Those three guys were so supportive in my career from day one,' Kelly said. 'They were all about getting our students more involved, more connected to each other, and more connected to our campus. I am grateful to be a part of continuing their legacy and working with my colleagues across campus to make Arkansas Tech the place of choice for even more students.' OKC Thunder unveil 2025-26 City Edition uniform and alternate court
Back by popular demand, fair to say the Oklahoma City Thunder have nailed their 2025-26 City Edition uniforms and alternate court. The NBA and Nike themed this upcoming season with a throwback design of previous fan-favorite jerseys over the years. For the Thunder, they went back to their 2018-19 City Edition uniform, which honored the state's Native American heritage. Russell Westbrook and Paul George wore the uniform that was quickly beloved by OKC fans. Now, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren will do the same with their spin on it, as it has a different shade of blue as its main color. The Thunder will debut the uniform during their annual Native American Heritage Night game on Wednesday, Nov. 19, against the Sacramento Kings. The Thunder also released a 2025-26 City Edition alternate court design. It will be paired with the uniform. Starting on Dec. 5, each Friday home game will be designated as a City Nights game. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has NBA 2K26's 2nd-highest rating at 98 overall
The NBA has gone on vacation, which means NBA 2K has taken advantage of the lack of news cycle. In anticipation of the NBA 2K26 Sept. 5 release, the annual video game slowly rolled out the top 100 rated players. It's a tradition that sparks conversations as fans across the league argue their guy should be higher. After winning an NBA championship, the Oklahoma City Thunder are prominently featured in the list. They have five players among the top 100. That shouldn't be a surprise. After all, they had one of the greatest seasons ever with a historic 68-14 regular-season record and a Larry O'Brien trophy. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had one of the greatest individual seasons ever seen. He won about every award imaginable. From MVP to NBA Finals MVP. After capturing a championship, the accolades piled on into the summer. One was being the NBA 2K26 cover athlete. Now, we know what his rating will be. Gilgeous-Alexander has the second-highest NBA 2K26 rating at 98 overall. Nikola Jokic also has a 98 overall rating to round out the top two players. The Thunder have five players in the top 100. Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein and Lu Dort. That's expected for a team widely viewed as the title favorite for the upcoming season, as they run it back with the same roster.
