Larry Lamb says he's not averse to penning poems
Gavin and Stacey star Larry Lamb is having the rhyme of his life after taking up poetry following a gap of several decades. The actor, who has also written a novel and autobiography, started scribbling stanzas in 1983, but started again after a poet friend encouraged him to do so. Larry, who says he is 1% Welsh, said he loves the process of writing as he gets to be in charge. "I started writing poetry in the 80s, it just came right out of the blue. A whole string of poems about my life and the way I saw things," the 77-year-old said. He said that in 2020 he found a file of them in the attic and showed them to a poet friend. "And he was really impressed and said, 'We have got to do something with these'. "So cut to quite recently and I started to write poems again. A lot of them about the same period in my life." On 27 September he will be reading his work for the first time, along with some of his favourite poems from his childhood, at Hereford Military History Festival. "So I'm going to be close to Wales," he said. Larry said he surprised himself when he started writing in 1983. "But now I have got a lot more experience, a lot more time in life," he told Lucy Owen on BBC Radio Wales. Series displays Wales' 'beautiful and bleak' scenery Timothy Spall's new crime drama filmed entirely in Wales The Welsh TV soap where Hollywood stars are born "It's just a fascinating procedure making poetry out of life and comparing the way I write things now to the way I wrote them in 1983. "I'm absolutely loving it. Hopefully I'll be following up the book tour with a tour all over the place telling stories with poetry." He will be promoting his novel All Wrapped Up with a number of UK dates from September to December - visiting Barry on December 2. He said he would go to Barry beach - the scene of many memorable Gavin & Stacey scenes - for a swim. Asked if he would be wearing a wetsuit in the winter water, he said: "My birthday suit. I'll hand out masks so people can just shut down on the visuals." Leonardo DiCaprio's Girlfriend Turns Heads in String Bikini
Leonardo DiCaprio's Girlfriend Turns Heads in String Bikini originally appeared on Parade. Leonardo DiCaprio's girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti put her beach body on display in a string bikini while on vacation with the legendary actor. On July 19, the Daily Mail published photos of DiCaprio, 50, and Ceretti, 27, seemed to be enjoyed their time onboard a yacht in Saint Tropez. DiCaprio wore a pair of dark-colored swim trunks and was seen drying off with a towel after taking a dip in the deep blue waters. Meanwhile Ceretti wore a pink two-piece thong bikini and kept her brown hair in a low bun. The trip comes just weeks after the couple attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding in Italy. The Italian model and DiCaprio have been romantically linked since 2023. They've done their best to keep their relationship private, but have made a handful of public appearances together over the past couple of years. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 Back in March, Ceretti gave a rare interview about her romance with the Shutter Island star. 'As soon as you're in a relationship with someone who has a larger following than you, you become 'girlfriend of'—or 'boyfriend of,' for that matter,' she said in an interview with Vogue France. 'And that can be extremely annoying. Suddenly, people are talking about you as so-and-so's girlfriend who was so-and-so's ex.' 'It's not nice to think that you can't love whoever you want because of the labels people need to stick on you,' she added. Nick & Vanessa Lachey's Head-Turning Real Estate Decision Shows How Much They Loved Their Dream Home
As the old saying goes, 'you can go home again.' That's exactly what Nick and Vanessa Lachey are doing with their recent real estate purchase. Let's dial it back to see how the couple went full circle with a 6,855-square-foot home in Tarzana, California. In 2020, the Lacheys moved to the $5.1 million mansion, thinking it would be the perfect place to raise their three children: Camden, 12, Brooklyn, 10, and Phoenix, 8. That was the plan until Vanessa scored a gig on NCIS: Hawai'i in 2021. More from SheKnows Prince William & Kate Middleton's 'Fresh Start' Home Comes With a Refreshing Financial Detail That meant a move to Honolulu, where they purchased an $8.8 million residence and sold their Tarzana estate to tennis pro Naomi Osaka for $6.2 million, per This is where things get a little crazy. NCIS: Hawai'i was canceled by CBS in April 2024, and it was time for the Lachey family to return to California. They bought a six-bedroom home in Encino, a neighborhood next door to Tarzana, for $6.8 million — but it wasn't the dream residence they once had. In a game of real estate shuffle, they put that home back on the market less than a year later because they were able to convince Osaka to sell their old property back to them. According to The Wall Street Journal, the U.S. Open champion made a nice profit on the place by selling it back to Nick and Vanessa for $7.95 million. The media outlet noted that this was a private sale since it wasn't listed on the open market, and Osaka had made substantial upgrades to the property. Osaka added necessary details for any athlete — a 'recovery center' with 'a sauna, a cold plunge, a steam room, and a massage table.' She even had her workout mantras posted in neon in the gym: 'Nothing good happens without discipline' and 'If it was easy, everyone would do it.' Surprisingly, the property did not have a tennis court, only a pickleball court — so it might be why Osaka is on the move. For the Lacheys, though, a return to their old home is a dream come of SheKnows 20 Times Madonna Reinvented Fashion at the VMAs The Best Photos of Madonna & Lookalike Daughter Lourdes Through The Years 22 Famous Women Who Have Played Roxie in Chicago on Broadway Solve the daily Crossword
