Sturgill Simpson to return to Twin Cities in May for Minneapolis show at Armory
MINNEAPOLIS — Less than a year after his highly-praised stop in St. Paul, Sturgill Simpson will return for another Twin Cities show.
Simpson, who went by the alias Johnny Blue Skies for his latest album "Passage Du Desir," announced the "Who the F**k is Johnny Blue Skies?" tour on Friday. He'll play The Armory in Minneapolis on May 6.
Tickets will go on sale for the general public on Feb. 21 at noon through Ticketmaster. There's no opener for the all-ages show, but at Simpson's September show at Roy Wilkins Auditorium, he played for about three hours, tearing through songs across his oeuvre and adding in a few covers. He also played in Moorhead the night before.
The Kentucky-born country singer won a Grammy for this third album, "A Sailor's Guide to Earth," and has been nominated for several more.

Taylor Swift Gets Restraining Order For Alleged Stalker
Hot Topic 🔥 Full coverage and conversation on Taylor Swift Taylor Swift was granted a temporary restraining order Monday against Brian Jason Wagner, a 45-year-old Colorado man who has allegedly visited her home several times and claimed she is the mother of his child, per court documents reviewed by Billboard. The order was signed by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Debra R. Archuleta and reportedly requires Wagner to stay at least 100 yards away from Swift and her home. It is set to expire with a June 30 hearing about a potentially more permanent restraining order. Swift wrote in her petition Friday that Wagner first visited her Los Angeles residence on July 9, 2024, and returned at least twice that month. The Grammy winner further noted that she doesn't publicly share her address and never gave it to Wagner. 'Therefore, the fact that Mr. Wagner has determined where I reside and visited the property several times, refusing to leave and claiming to need access, makes me fear for my safety and the safety of my family,' she wrote in the petition reviewed by Billboard. Swift said he once arrived 'carrying a glass bottle that could have been used as a weapon.' 'During each of these visits, I am informed that Mr. Wagner made various statements about living at my property (not true), being in a relationship with me (not true), believing I am the mother of his son (not true), and needing to see me in person,' she added in her filing. Swift's legal proceedings were only launched after two more visits from Wagner last month, however, when her staff ran a background check and learned he had a criminal record and had claimed in 'lengthy communications' from jail that he was in a relationship with Swift. Wagner allegedly even illegally obtained a California driver's license listing Swift's address as his own. The singer, who unfortunately has a lot of experience with stalkers, described his claims as 'disconnected from reality' in her filing. In 2017, 29-year-old Mohammed Jaffar entered Swift's apartment building in New York City after harassing her management company, fawning over Swift on social media and describing her security guard as a 'gatekeeper,' The Guardian reported at the time. In 2018, 22-year-old Roger Alvarado broke in and used her shower before taking a nap in Swift's bed. Later that year, another man reportedly traveled more than 1,000 miles to her Los Angeles home with ammunition, a knife, rope and gloves in his car. Swift has used facial-recognition technology to identify potential stalkers at her concerts. The singer, who recently triumphed in a yearslong fight to reclaim the rights to her first six albums, wrapped her Eras Tour in December. The effort became the highest-grossing tour of all time, and the first to earn more than $1 billion — and $2 billion — in revenue.

Doechii Styles Floor-length Braids With Miu Miu Look for 2025 BET Awards
Doechii was honored for her musical prowess and innovation on Monday at the 2025 BET Awards in Los Angeles, during which she received the award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. The 26-year-old rapper and singer, who earlier this year took home the Grammy for Best New Artist, celebrated the night with floor-length braids styled by her longtime hair architect, Malcolm Marquez. The 'Denial Is a River' creator collaborated with Marquez, drawing on her signature style and persona to create a fresh take. While the spiral braids on top of her head felt particularly familiar, the five-foot extensions swinging across her left shoulder were something new. However, Marquez typically adds a braided element in many of her looks. Doechii's hair for the Grammy Awards was a braided crown extension tied on top of her head. Oppositely, Marquez put her in an afro for the 2025 Met Gala and flattened her hair, adding a front fringe and folding the spikey ends on top of her head for her Dazed cover shoot. Her BET Awards makeup was light, consisting of full brows, lash extensions, brown lip liner and a clear gloss. Doechii has famously worked with artist Dee, whose client list includes Ayo Edebiri, but it's not certain whether they were responsible for this glam. Doechii was also a Miu Miu girl on Monday, posing in an all-red, two-piece skirt and bandeau top set with the brand's yellow suede Arcadie bag, layered belts, colorful bangles and a Renato Cipullo Amethyst and Emerald Lucido Ring. Her acrylic nails were also the star of the show, square-cut and painted in an ombré red and gold on one hand and an iridescent amber on the other. Doechii's stylist Sam Woolf also put her in see-through, orange shades, wood hoops and Jimmy Choo sandals with purple flower accents. Back in February, Doechii made her rounds through fashion week, attending all of the major shows and opening the runway for Dsquared2's fall 2025 Milan presentation. Her runway debut saw her emerge out of an armored truck to her own track, 'Nissan Altima.' Instead of braids, Doechii's hair was teased up, blown out and curled, shining as the flood lights hit her. Kehlani Wore a Shimmery Archival Dior Dress by John Galliano to the BET Awards
When it came to dressing for last night's BET Awards in Los Angeles, Kehlani wanted to channel 'early 2000s effortless attire' on the red carpet, she tells ELLE. 'We wanted something classic, and nothing screams classic like vintage Dior!' Sure enough, she and stylist Anastasia Walker landed on an archival Christian Dior dress by John Galliano, a strapless number featuring gold baroque-inspired beading over light blue fabric. (The pattern juxtaposed with her many tattoos.) There were dangling zipper details on the straps and on the hip-high leg slit. As for accessories, she wore metallic Tom Ford heeled sandals and jewelry by Alexis Bittar. Quran Smith styled her hair into loose, glam waves; makeup artist Troye Batiste gave her a soft-glam look; and Johana Castillo, a.k.a. @masterweenay, handled her intricate manicure. Kehlani was nominated in two categories for this year's ceremony: Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and Video of the Year for 'After Hours,' a song which also earned her a Grammy nod. Although the festivities are over, the singer has more to celebrate this week. Tomorrow, she's releasing a new single, titled 'Folded,' an R&B post-breakup ballad that'll have you singing in the rain like you're in a 2000s music video. 'Come pick up your clothes, I have them folded,' she sings in the chorus, following a sweeping string intro. The track is produced by Khris Riddick-Tynes (who collaborated on 'After Hours'), Andre Harris, Donovan Knight, and Don Mills. Before you start adding 'Folded' to your playlists, swipe through the gallery below to see how Kehlani got ready for last night's big event.
