Antonio Rudiger claims he was racially abused in Club World Cup clash
Antonio Rudiger has claimed he was racially abused during Real Madrid's Club World Cup victory over Mexican side Pachuca on Sunday.
Xabi Alonso confirmed a complaint had been made after an incident towards the end of the Spanish giants' 3-1 victory in Charlotte.
Rudiger had clashed with Pachuca captain Gustavo Cabral in injury time but it was not clear if the alleged abuse came from a player or someone in the crowd.
"That's what Rudiger said, and we believe him," Alonso told reporters in his post-match press conference. "It is important to have zero tolerance in these kinds of situations. Fifa now is investigating. That's all I can say."
Fifa, the world governing body and tournament organiser, has not commented but referee Ramon Abatti had crossed his arms in front of his chest, which signals the activation of the anti-racism protocol.
It comes after Fifa were criticised by campaigners for dropping its anti-racism messaging at the Club World Cup, something they were forced to U-turn ahead of Real's opener against Al-Hilal.
Real had shrugged off the early sending off of Raul Asencio to claim a victory that took them to the top of Group H.
Asencio was dismissed in the seventh minute for hauling down Salomon Rondon - another blow for Alonso's side with striker Kylian Mbappe still missing through illness.
But after soaking up a spell of pressure, Real broke the deadlock through Jude Bellingham in the 35th minute before Arda Guler doubled the lead.
Federico Valverde volleyed in a third with 20 minutes left before the Mexicans grabbed a late consolation through Elias Montiel's deflected effort.
It was Real's first win of the tournament and took them level on four points with Red Bull Salzburg, who played out a goalless draw with Al Hilal in Washington DC.
Real play Salzburg in their final game of the first stage on Thursday night (2am Friday UK) but, with Al Hilal just two points behind, the group is wide open.

Climber died after 20-metre fall on holiday with father
A climber died after falling 20 metres to his death while on holiday with his father in Spain, an inquest has heard. Zachary Cook, 22, was climbing a route with his father, Jonathan, in Malaga when he fell 20 metres and suffered fatal injuries. Avon Coroner's Court heard the video games programmer, from Winterbourne, South Gloucestershire, was on a climbing holiday when he died on Dec 11 last year. Alexis Camp, the coroner's officer, told the hearing in a written statement: 'They were climbing a route that required them to have two safety clips on their person and on the safety wires on the rock face. 'Prior to the start of the climb, they were informed to only unclip one of the safety clips from the safety wire at any one time and never to unclip both safety clips at the same time. 'Around halfway through the route, Zachary unclipped both of his safety clips from the safety wire, which resulted in him falling around 20 metres below.' The court heard that a group of medics were in the vicinity and went to Cook's aid but he died later at the scene. Dr Peter Harrowing, the area coroner, said a post-mortem examination was conducted in Spain and gave Cook's cause of death as poly-trauma resulting from the fall. Mr Harrowing, who recorded a conclusion of misadventure, said: 'The family have no concerns surrounding any of the treatment or care received by Zachary from any of the medical professionals involved. 'They believe this was a terrible accident and nothing more could have been done.'

Gunman fatally shot at Michigan church had attended services in past year
The man who opened fire outside a Michigan church filled with worshippers before he was struck by a vehicle and then fatally shot by security staff had attended services there a couple of times in the last year and his mother is a member, police said. The gunman, identified as Brian Anthony Browning, 31, did not have any previous contacts with local police or a criminal history, but may have been suffering a mental health crisis, the Wayne police department said in a news release. Churchgoers attending a Sunday morning service at CrossPointe Community church in Wayne spotted the gunman driving recklessly and then saw him exit his car wearing a tactical vest and carrying a rifle and a handgun, the police chief, Ryan Strong, said at an evening news conference. The man began firing as he approached the church, striking one person in the leg. A parishioner driving a pickup truck hit the man and the church security team locked the front doors and exchanged gunfire with the man, police said. At least two staff members shot him, Strong said. About 150 people were inside the church at the time. 'We are grateful for the heroic actions of the church's staff members, who undoubtedly saved many lives and prevented a large-scale mass shooting,' the chief said. The shooting occurred in Wayne, a city of about 17,000 people located about 25 miles (40km) west of Detroit. One member of the security team was shot in the leg and was listed in stable condition at a hospital after undergoing surgery, the news release said. No one else was hurt. Police executing a search warrant at Browning's home in Romulus, about 5 miles south of Wayne, found additional rifles, several more handguns and a large amount of ammunition, the news release said. Browning's mother did not respond to a Facebook message sent on Sunday by the Associated Press. Worshipper Wendy Bodin said she heard a loud 'boom' and when she looked outside, she saw a man sprawled out on the grass in front of the church.
