Borouge dividend yield hits 6.7pc, offering big investor returns
Borouge's financial results for 2024 underline the company's resilience and profitability, with net earnings of AED4.5 billion ($1.24 billion), marking a 24% year-on-year increase.
The company also reported an industry-leading ebitda margin of 41%, further cementing its reputation as one of the most efficient and profitable players in the petrochemicals sector.
Shareholders of Borouge are expected to approve an AED2.4 billion ($650 million) cash dividend for the second half of 2024 at the company's upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) on April 7.
This final payment will bring Borouge's total dividends for the year to AED4.8 billion ($1.3 billion), reinforcing its position as an attractive investment opportunity in the region.
Investors seeking eligibility for the final dividend must hold Borouge shares by April 15, with payments set for distribution on April 28.
Borouge CEO Hazeem Sultan Al Suwaidi said: "This is an exciting time for Borouge shareholders, as the company continues to deliver strong dividends, underscoring our commitment to driving value for our shareholders."
"With a solid business model and continuous innovation, Borouge remains a strong contender for investors looking for value opportunities," he stated.
Beyond its strong dividend profile, Borouge's growth trajectory is poised to accelerate following the recently announced merger of Borouge and OMV's Borealis to create Borouge Group International and the acquisition of Nova OVA Chemicals.
This consolidation will create the world's fourth-largest polyolefins company, valued at AED220+ billion ($60 billion), significantly enhancing Borouge's global profile.
The newly formed Borouge Group International is expected to benefit from a higher dividend payout, expanded market access, advanced technological capabilities, and complementary product lines.
With commercial and manufacturing operations spanning North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, Borouge Group International presence in the global petrochemicals industry is set to strengthen, offering further opportunities for growth and value creation.

His one-year term began at the conclusion of the 81st IATA Annual General Meeting in New Delhi, India. Gallego is the 83rd Chair of the IATA Board on which he has served since 2018. Before that, Gallego launched Iberia Express, as chief executive from January 2012, making the new Iberia subsidiary one of the most efficient and punctual airlines in Europe. Gallego joined Iberia Express from Vueling where he was chief operating officer from 2009, when the airline merged with the low-cost carrier Clickair which he co-founded in 2006. He held various posts at Spanish regional airline Air Nostrum between 1997 and 2006. Scheduled from June 1st to 3rd in New Delhi, the event marks the return of IATA's flagship summit to Indian soil after a 42-year gap, last held in India in 1983. Record attendance More than 1,700 delegates, including top airline CEOs, government officials, and global media, are attending the AGM, which is being hosted by India's leading carrier, IndiGo. India's Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, is expected to deliver the keynote address, signalling high-level national endorsement of the gathering. 'We are excited to bring the IATA AGM to India after a 42-year gap,' said Willie Walsh, IATA's Director General. 'India's place in global aviation has changed dramatically. The country has seen record aircraft orders, impressive growth, and world-class infrastructure developments.' IndiGo in the lead IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers, who also chairs the IATA Board of Governors, noted that the summit reflects India's growing influence in global aviation. He said aviation is a powerful force for good worldwide and that this is particularly evident in India. IndiGo, he added, is proud to invite the IATA AGM back to India and showcase the country's rapid progress in the sector. India's aviation industry directly employs over 369,000 people and contributes $5.6 billion to the economy. Borouge and Alfred Talke win big at GPCA supply chain awards
The Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA), the voice of the chemical industry in the Arabian Gulf, has announced the winners of the 6th GPCA Supply Chain Excellence Awards, which took place at a star-studded award ceremony held in Dubai. Abu Dhabi–based petrochemicals company Borouge and Alfred Talke, a global leader in chemical logistics, and TruKKer, a key logistics and fleet management platform, have won big at the Awards along with DP Worls, Almajdouie & De Rijke Limited. A key highlight was the Women in Supply Chain Award which was clinched by Sara Alhababi of Sadara Chemical Company. The winners were presented the award during the 16th GPCA Supply Chain Conference held yesterday (May 27) at the Address Sky View Hotel, Dubai. The Awards were open to all regional chemical supply chain and logistics operators and providers, who have developed and integrated innovative and sustainable solutions in their operations. It attracted a total of 38 submissions from 20 companies across the GCC.
