UAE leaders extend condolences to Saudi Arabia over death of ‘Sleeping Prince'

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has offered his condolences to the Saudi Arabia following the passing of Prince Al Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal Al Saud, known to many as the 'Sleeping Prince.'
The message was sent to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, WAM reported.
Two other top UAE leaders, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, also sent their messages of sympathy to the Saudi King.
Their messages followed the death of Prince Al Waleed, who had been in a coma for nearly 20 years.
His father, Prince Khaled, confirmed his passing in a social media post on July 19. He was 36 years old.
At age 15, he was involved in a car accident in London in 2005 that left him with severe brain injuries and internal bleeding.
He was eventually moved to King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, where he remained on life support and under close medical care for the next two decades.
