Cynthia Erivo and Oprah recreated Wicked's 'holding space' meme to open 2025 Tony Awards
It wasn't that long ago that "holding space" took over as the big internet meme thanks to Wicked stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. On Sunday, Erivo and Oprah Winfrey brought it back in a subtle way during the opening of the 2025 Tony Awards.
Back in November 2024 during Wicked's press tour, Erivo and Grande had a bizarre moment with an interviewer from Out.com about the lyrics of the showstopper "Defying Gravity". In it, the phrase "holding space" was used and the meme was born from there, with Grande also awkwardly holding Erivo's finger amidst the conversation.
It's been some time since we, as a society, held space for the "holding space" meme, but on Sunday, Erivo and Oprah Winfrey recreated the moment during the introduction to the 2025 Tony Awards.

Word to the Wise: Faking an Orgasm Isn't Worth It
The first time was during a heatwave. I was flushed and dizzy, the windows wide open, sweat pooling at the small of my back. As a train passed over his apartment, I let out a noise that, to my own ears, sounded like a sultry scream of ecstasy, but that he probably heard as something akin to a puffin being shot. He paused. 'You good?' 'Yeah,' I panted. 'I just came really hard.' He then looked into my eyes and said that one little word every woman wants to hear during sex: 'K.' Maybe he believed me, maybe he didn't. Either way, he looked down at his dick and gave it a nod of approval. And, naturally, I did what generations of women before me have done in moments like these: I kept going. Loudly. With feeling. I said all the things you're supposed to say. I arched and sighed and went full method. Unfortunately, Stella Adler doesn't teach a class on faking orgasms. He and I met at a time when I was trying not to feel anything. He was the classic downtown transplant: part-time set designer-slash-skater (whatever that means), guitar in hand, covered in tattoos, with a deep commitment to not texting back. He used to remind me the world didn't revolve around me, then promise he was coming over—only to fall asleep before showing up. He lived in a Chinatown walk-up wedged under the Manhattan Bridge, in that stretch of the city where the sky feels oddly low and the air smells of durian. The apartment was one of those long, narrow railroad layouts with bedrooms on either end; his one had a mattress on the floor, a single string of fairy lights that never turned off, and a few peeling posters on the wall. Every time a train went by, the building rattled like it might cave in. We didn't have much in common besides our shared fear of intimacy; still, I saw him almost every day for three weeks. He had an incredibly large dick and the emotional range of a kitchen sponge, but he rolled joints with scientific precision and kissed like he was trying to erase you. I'd like to think that now, with a fully developed frontal lobe, I'd never tolerate that kind of man-child behavior again. But at the time, what little he had to give seemed fine. That's the thing about being young and trying to quiet your fear of aloneness with men—you're so afraid they'll leave that you convince yourself the bare minimum is enough. In hindsight, maybe faking it felt like less of a risk to me than asking for more and being denied.

5 Must-Watch Amazon Prime Video Movies & TV Shows of Summer 2025, Ranked
Amazon Prime Video may have a habit of releasing its lineup for the month late, but the streamer is prepared to dominate summer 2025. Prime Video is betting on action comedies this summer, including a trio of films with A-list casts that rival anything you could watch in theaters. For romance lovers, the third and final season of one of Prime Video's shows is set to drop in July. And another show has the potential to be a breakout hit for the streamer. Keep reading for the Watch With Us team's picks for the five most-anticipated Amazon Prime Video movies and TV shows of summer 2025. 17 Must-Watch Movies on Amazon Prime Video Right Now (June 2025) Although Bryce Dallas Howard seems to be more focused on her directing career lately, she's headlining Prime Video's upcoming action comedy Deep Cover. Howard plays Kat, a frustrated comedian who teaches improv comedy. When she's approached by an undercover cop named Billings (Sean Bean), Kat suddenly realizes she has the chance for the role of a lifetime. Billings wants Kat to infiltrate a criminal gang, and she's more than willing to do it. She even recruits two of her best students, Marlon (Orlando Bloom) and Hugh (Nick Mohammed). However, the stakes are very real, and one false step could result in the deaths of all three of them. Deep Cover will stream on Prime Video on June 12. There have been plenty of action comedies before, but Heads of State may be the first action comedy to feature the President of the United States and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom as the action buddies. President Will Derringer (John Cena) and Prime Minister Sam Clarke (Idris Elba) clash like oil and water, and their working relationship leaves a lot to be desired. 16 Great TV Shows on Amazon Prime Video Right Now (May 2025) All bets go out the window when an attempt on their lives forces Derringer and Clarke to go on the run with MI6 Agent Noel Bisset (Priyanka Chopra Jonas). This unlikely trio may be the only thing standing in the way of a global conspiracy, and Derringer and Clarke may have to get their hands dirty to save the world. Heads of State will stream on Prime Video on July 2. Prime Video's hit romance series The Summer I Turned Pretty will return for its third and final season this summer. The show's primary love triangle has been between Isabel "Belly" Conklin (Lola Tung) and two brothers, Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) and Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney). And she ultimately chose Jeremiah over his brother. Season 3 picks up with Belly and Jeremiah sharing a summer of love and romance before the start of her senior year in college. But just when Belly thought her heart was set on one man, Conrad reenters her life and makes her question if she made the right choice. The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 will stream on Prime Video on July 16. 11 Great Comedy Movies on Amazon Prime Video Right Now (May 2025) Tim Story directed the upcoming action comedy The Pickup, and he put together a very impressive cast, including Eva Longoria, Marshawn Lynch, Joe 'Roman Reigns' Anoa'i, Andrew Dice Clay and Ismael Cruz Córdova. Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson lead the cast as Russell and Travis, a pair of armored truck drivers. Russell and Travis' otherwise normal day is disrupted when a dangerous gang of thieves led by Zoe (Keke Palmer) attempts to hijack the truck. Surrender isn't an option for these crooks, and the only hope that Russell and Travis have to keep breathing is to stay ahead of Zoe's group at all costs. The Pickup will stream on Prime Video on August 8. Do you remember the last time a streaming series had 13 episodes in its first season? With that many episodes, Countdown may keep us on the edge of our seats until September. This action thriller stars Supernatural's as LAPD Detective Mark Meachum, a man who is recruited by Nathan Blythe (Eric Dane) to join a special task force to solve the murder of a Homeland Security officer. 10 Must-Watch Action Movies on Amazon Prime Video Right Now (June 2025) This murder investigation soon spirals into a race to prevent a terrorist attack of 9/11 proportions. Mark and his team are under the gun to make sure that doesn't happen. If they fail, the consequences will be severe. Countdown will stream on Prime Video on June 25.
