Depending on where they are from (Oakland, Los Angeles, or Las Vegas), there's an old saying you may have heard from fans of The Silver and Black. "Once a Raider, always a Raider". That's respectable. There's not really a Philadelphia Eagles parallel, but we've seen the same attitude by Birds fans for years.
Brian Dawkins is a superhero. Jason Kelce won't ever have to buy a drink or meal in Philly unless he wants to pick up the tab. Even role players can attest to the love of football's most loyal fan base. How often have you watched a non-Eagles game because of a former player or an old coach?
Jordan Matthews will never be voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He won't be in the Eagles Hall of Fame either, but after three stints with this team (2014-16, 2018, 2019), he's earned his wings. That being said, he earns a tip of the cap after being part of a recent update.

Philadelphia selected Jordan Matthews with the 42nd selection during Round 2 of the 2014 NFL Draft. He's since hauled in 249 receptions in an Eagles jersey and 274 catches overall. None were more exciting than a sudden-death overtime winner vs. the hated Dallas Cowboys in 2015.
He's spent the past two seasons in Charlotte with the Carolina Panthers, but the announcement no NFL star wants to hear has come. They have released him as part of a wave of veteran cuts, including Jadeveon Clowney's release.
Might this signal the end? It would seem that way. He's 32 years old, and after only appearing in five games over the past two seasons, he hasn't played a full NFL season since 2015. Though he has had a nice run, we fear retirement may be nearing.
If this is the end, he leaves the game having racked up 3,288 yards in 81 career regular-season games with 47 starts. He has 22 regular-season TDs on his resume. He also notched one postseason reception for 37 yards and another trip to the end zone.

Andrew Billings hosts fourth annual football camp
WACO, Texas (FOX 44) — Andrew Billings is getting set to enter his eighth season in the National Football League, but before suiting up for the Chicago Bears he made sure to return home to Waco to hold his fourth annual Andrew Billings Football Camp. Giving a free opportunity for local kids to hone their skills with an NFL Veteran, but it's just as rewarding for Billings himself. 'It's really good to be back and doing it for the community,' Billings said. 'It's great for me because I get to have fun watching them out here running and stuff and to me that's the job.' Camps like these were not around when Billings was growing up but he vividly remembers a player for the New York Giants visiting Waco High when he was a high schooler, so he knows how much of an impact he can have on these young players. 'It would be important to me if I was a kid so I just try to take that and run with it,' Billings said. 'If I was in their shoes how would I like it because I would love to be out here with a defensive lineman from the NFL.' The goal of any camp like this is of course, to make sure everyone has fun but Billings is doing his best to make sure an afternoon like this one develops kids as a player and as a person. 'It's having fun and training for football but it's also communication,' Billings said. 'You got to work together, stay in line and have all these different activities and for the older kids the one on ones are important because a lot of them have aspirations to go to college and do various things with football and out of football.' The camp is a part of the Billings Find-a-Way Family Foundation that Andrew Billings made a point to start, and now it is enriching the community he grew up in. 'We've been doing bikes and books for a couple of years with various schools,' Billings said. 'It's something I always wanted to start and always thought about doing but didn't find a way until later in my career but once I did I'm doing it and I'm sticking with it.' Billings efforts in Waco aren't slowing down anytime soon because he is never losing sight of where home is. 'My life is tied around Waco,' Billings said. 'A lot of people in my life are from Waco so it's somewhere where I always have to come back and I always have to give back because it's given me so much.' PEORIA, Illinois (WMBD) – Super-sectionals for big school softball and baseball teams. Defending 3A softball state champion Pontiac faces Providence Catholic. Meanwhile, we'll have two baseball teams competing as well. In 3A, Washington won their sectional title off dominant pitching from Gavin Lawrence on the mound. He and Carter Prina have been a dynamic one-two punch for the Panthers. Prina will get the nod on Monday and the Bradley commit is excited to step on the rubber. Oh, it's great. I mean, having all the confidence in the world in my guys. I mean, trying to make it to state, it's going to be amazing. Feeling the emotions. It's high right now, we're ready for the next one and hopefully going to state. Carter Prina We were able to capitalize off mistakes. And then with our pitching, how it's been working all season, I mean, it's hard for a team to come back from a deficit when they're already down in the first couple of innings. Gavin Lawrence Panthers face Benet Academy in Geneseo. In 4A, Normal Community is in the midst of a historic season, heading to the super-sectional round for the first time in 21 years. They won a wild game against O'Fallon in their own backyard at Illinois Wesleyan. Just one win from state, the team is having fun every step of the way. It's awesome. I mean, I've never made it this far in my life. Even having a regional. So getting this far is just crazy and we really want to make something happen here. So we're excited. Max Heineman We definitely had high expectations at the beginning of the year and we went to work every day at practice and got 1% better leading to this point and just looking forward to continuing it being at least another another day with all my brothers here Kyle Beaty Peoria Notre Dame girls soccer dropped a heartbreak in the 2A state championship. The Irish fell 1-0 to St. Ignatius on a last-minute goal. The program had been to the state tournament 12 times before, but Saturday was the first time they played for a title. Through the heartbreak, the Irish tried to keep their historic year in perspective. The effort we put into this season, we had more wins than we've had ever. We set records, we made history; second in state is a big accomplishment, but we're super upset and we want to come back next year and get first Rylie Bare You know, it stings, it's going to sting. But again, you know, they kind of made their mark the last two years and, you know, keep your heads high. And the effort all year has been there and it's just, this sucks. Speaking to reporters during Eagles voluntary workouts, Davis detailed how he was preparing himself to be more than just a first- and second-down run defender. 'Not even just (coach) Clint Hurtt, but (teammate) Nolan Smith has been teaching me things. "When it's just stuff like that, learning stuff from different players and coaches, they want you to be your best at pass rush. They want you. They expect that from you." Davis had his fifth-year option picked up by the Eagles this offseason. … in anticipation of getting more from him. In his first three seasons with the team, he managed to record just 3.5 sacks. Philadelphia will need a jump up from a former first-round pick from that kind of production. If he can build off of last year's improvements as a rusher, he may be in for his best year yet.
