A woman was fatally shot at a home in Keeseekoowenin First Nation early Monday.
Yellowhead RCMP were sent to the scene at about 2:45 a.m. and found the 33-year-old woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 26-year-old man. He was transported to hospital in serious condition by STARS air ambulance, and was treated and released.
RCMP said the incident was 'targeted.' They asked anyone with information related to the killing to contact them at 204-848-2659, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online.

Police are investigating a shooting in The Pas this winter as a homicide after the victim died, RCMP said Monday.
The 31-year-old man was shot at a home on Patrick Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. on March 7.
Shots might have been fired outside a home on Settee Avenue shortly before the Patrick Avenue incident. Hours after the second incident, another man said he was shot while sitting inside a vehicle outside a home in nearby Umpherville.
In March, RCMP said the suspects and victims in the incidents knew each other.

One woman is dead and another is charged with manslaughter after a stabbing in Thompson.
RCMP were sent to a home on Ashberry Place at about 1:40 a.m. Thursday.
Emergency crews were treating a woman for a stab wound inside the home when officers arrived. The 34-year-old woman died.
A Thompson resident, 31-year-old Tammy James, was arrested.

A Winnipeg woman is facing drug charges after border agents in Calgary inspected luggage bound for Japan last month.
The luggage, which had been flagged for abnormalities on June 23, was found to contain about 30 kilograms of methamphetamine.
The traveller had already boarded their flight for Tokyo's airport when Canada Border Services Agency officers arrested her and removed from the plane. RCMP were contacted, and police began investigating the woman and the seized drugs.
An 18-year-old woman is charged with two offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and another under the Customs Act.
She was scheduled to appear in court in Calgary on Monday.

Police said a call came in around 4:20 p.m. on Aug. 1 in the area of Bayview Avenue and Front Street East. One person was speaking on the phone when an unknown man, unprovoked, allegedly began swearing at them and using homophobic slurs. Police said the man then asked the victim if they were recording him on their phone. During their interaction, the suspect allegedly tried to kick the victim, prompting them to run into a nearby business. The suspect followed but subsequently left when police were contacted. Investigators described the suspect as a 40-year-old Brown man, five-foot-10 with a lean build, grey stubble, a beard, and longer hair. He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured baseball hat. Police said the incident is being investigated as a hate-motivated offence. Anyone with information about the suspect's whereabouts is to contact police at 416-808-3500 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).

Winnipeg police have made an arrest in connection with a jewelry scam and distraction crime group which they say has been committing thefts in the city in recent months. Police say the group is known for using realistic counterfeit jewelry and frequently switching vehicles to avoid detection. In one incident, on June 26, a man was parked in the 1400 block of Regent Avenue west and was approached by someone selling fake gold jewelry. The man bought the jewelry and soon discovered it was not genuine and contacted police. On Aug. 4, 36-year-old Catalin Feraru was arrested in connection with the incident and has been charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence and fraud over $5,000. Story continues below advertisement Suspect wanted In another incident, a man was walking in the 500 block of Toronto Street on Aug. 1, when he was approached by a suspect carrying costume jewelry and a gift. The suspect used a distraction technique to remove a gold chain from the man's neck and replace it with a fake one. The man eventually realized what was happening and confronted the suspect, who fled in a vehicle. An arrest warrant has been issued for 31-year-old Ionut-Vasile Bivolaru, and anyone who has information on his whereabouts or may have interacted with him to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS.
