We will see every precipitation type between Saturday and Sunday.
Dunn says there will be a snow and wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain Saturday, especially north of U.S. 35.
Any snow accumulation would be generally less than one inch with a light glaze of ice possible. It would create a slick spot, or two before warm air moves in and changes to plain to rain.
'Models are not locked in yet, but there is an increased signal of heavy rainfall for Saturday evening into Saturday night,' said Dunn. 'Some rainfall totals of 1-3 inches are possible, highest south of Interstate 70 in general. Rises on areas of creeks, streams, and rivers can be expected.'
The second part of the weekend features rain changing to snow.
Accumulations are possible, but Dunn says that will come down to moisture availability and the timing of the cold air swinging in.
'Winds will increase with gusts to around 30 mph and with falling temperatures, any moisture could freeze on untreated surfaces,' he said. 'In terms of how much snow we think for Sunday, overall light snow accumulations are the current expectation should snow stick. With that said, exact locations and ranges are not quite locked in just yet. We have some time to narrow in on the best chances for snowfall accumulations, but right now the odds favor lighter totals compared to heavy totals.'
We will see cold temperatures to start the new work week.
News Center 7 will update this story.

Giant tree crashes into another, sends it toppling onto Cobb County rental home

The severe storms that moved through metro Atlanta over the weekend knocked down several trees. In Cobb County, one giant tree crashed into another tree, starting a domino effect where the second tree landed on top of a home. Neighbors who heard it fall says it happened within minutes. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] On Monday, Channel 2's Michael Doudna reported outside the home on Centerview Drive, where the massive amount of damage hasn't been touched since Saturday night's storms. Doudna learned the home belongs to a rental company. A representative said no one was inside the home because it was under renovations. The rental company said it had someone scheduled to move into the home in two weeks. All of that will be put on hold for quite some time.
