Beyoncé ‘Hands II Heaven' Ascends On Gold-Gilded Horse During Atlanta Cowboy Carter Tour Stop, Sizzles With Peerless Performance Prowess
The BeyHive packed Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the first night of her four-day tour stop in the Southern city, and the energy was electric. Amid a sea of cowboy hats, denim, and chaps, Beyoncé's fans, whom she proudly declared 'the best in the world', were ready for a good ole' country time.
They swayed and sang along as she opened the show with 'American Requiem,' responding in unison when the 35-time Grammy winner asked, 'Do you hear me?' It was an invitation into her world of SWEET ☆ HONEY ☆ BUCKIIN' bliss.
Beyoncé powered through a dynamic setlist blending past and present hits, including 'Freedom,' 'Ya Ya,' and 'Why Don't You Love Me,' featuring moves from her 'first set of twins,' Les Twins.
Throughout the show, Beyoncé's love for her Hive radiated. She paused to read fans' signs, send well wishes, and shout out birthdays and heartfelt 'I love yous.' Her signature benevolence kept the crowd captivated—many fans watching with bated breath for a personal moment of connection with the Queen herself. Source: Parkwood Entertainment
Beyoncé also made sure that her Atlanta show wasn't just about boots, buckles, buckin', and carefree country tunes; it carried a bold, intentional statement. The concert included a visual montage that honored the depth and diversity of Black culture: Black cowboys, gospel choirs, jazz bands, family reunions, and archival footage of icons like James Brown, Nina Simone, Chuck Berry, and Tina Turner. Woven throughout were clips of Beyoncé's own artistic evolution from Girls Tyme to Destiny's Child and present day, culminating in blurred-out shots of cable news pundits who once questioned her place in country music.Well aware of her critics, the Texas native didn't shy away from addressing the noise.
During a fiery 'SWEET ☆ HONEY ☆ BUCKIIN'' dance break, she boldly referenced her 2025 Cowboy Carter Grammy win, shouting, 'AOTY, who ain't win?!'
At one point, the ATL crowd was enamored to see Beyoncé's daughters Blue Ivy, 13, and Rumi, 7, pay homage to the viral hit, 'Whim Whammie' by Atlanta artists Pluto and YKNIECE. After obliterating the stage during her 'America Has A Problem' dance break, the brilliantly boom-kaking teen confidently looked into the camera, making the 'Talmbout Innit' motion, made famous by the rappers.
Not to be outdone, the always exuberant Rumi followed in her big sister's footsteps, making the same motion to the camera during 'Protector,' marking her highly anticipated moment in the show.
In one of the night's most unexpected moments, Beyoncé stunned fans as she rose to the top of Mercedes-Benz Stadium on a gold-gilded mechanical horse. Styled with Swangas in a nod to her Houston roots, the horse glided through the air while she performed '16 Carriages,' locking eyes with her adoring Hive below. Source: Parkwood Entertainment
Fans quickly dubbed the horse an upgrade from Renaissance's 'Renigh'—and rightfully so. It was a standout addition to an already spectacular show, especially following the red Cadillac's midair tilt during her June 28 performance in Houston. This time, there were no technical hiccups. The horse floated smoothly above the crowd, who waved in awe as Beyoncé passed by their section.
She closed the night with a second performance of 'American Requiem,' this time in front of a bust of the Statue of Liberty, solidifying the evening's blend of symbolism and showmanship.
'Thank you all so much for your incredible southern hospitality,' said Beyoncé. 'Everybody up top, I wanted to make sure I got up on that horse for y'all, so I can get closer to you. Sometimes when you're scared, all you gotta do is get back on that horse,' she concluded.
Beyoncé's message rang loud and clear: Cowboy Carter is a powerful celebration of legacy, culture, and unshakable confidence. With her daughters by her side, her fans hanging on every word, and a genre-blending setlist rooted in country, soul, and defiance, she delivered a performance full of purpose. In true Queen Bey fashion, she didn't just entertain; she empowered, uplifted, and left a mark that echoed far beyond the stadium.
Beyoncé will continue the Atlanta leg of her tour on July 11, 13, and 14. Source: Parkwood Entertainment

Bama Rush star steps back from recruitment that coach called ‘psychological warfare'
University of Alabama senior and Zeta Tau Alpha member Kylan Darnell has announced she is taking a 'step back' from recruitment and from posting about the sorority rush craze sweeping college campuses. Darnell, the reigning Miss Ohio Teen USA, has spent the past three years sharing an inside look at sorority life, becoming one of the most recognizable faces in the 'Bama Rush' phenomenon that has captivated college campuses and social media users alike. Advertisement But this year, she says, will be different. 'I just wanted to come on here because I am somebody that has painted my whole college life, my whole sorority life online,' Darnell said in a TikTok video. 'There's been good and bad. But today, I'm not all dressed up for recruitment. I've personally decided to take a mental health day for the next three days.' Raised in Ohio, far from the deep-rooted Southern sorority traditions, Darnell admitted she arrived at the University of Alabama with little understanding of rush. 'I had no idea my life would turn into what it has,' she said. 'I didn't know you weren't supposed to post on social media. I didn't know it was frowned upon. I had no idea about the backlash, or the positivity, that would come with it.' Advertisement Brandis Bradley, a sorority coach, referred to the recruitment process as 'psychological warfare' in an interview with PEOPLE. 4 Kylan Darnell attended Miami Swim Week 2025 on May 31, 2025. GC Images 'It's emotional boot camp,' Bradley told the outlet. 'And their frontal lobes aren't even fully developed.' Darnell's introduction to Greek life came when her mother took her to Sorority Row before freshman year. 'I was hooked,' she recalled, despite initial hesitation from her parents. Advertisement With no friends and no knowledge of the houses, she threw herself into rush with fresh eyes. 4 'Bama Rush' is the competitive sorority recruitment process at the University of Alabama. AP On the first day of recruitment, Darnell filmed a short TikTok explaining the process to her family's group chat. That casual clip went viral before she'd even finished orientation, catapulting her into influencer status. Since then, she's garnered 1.2M faithful followers and 82.7 million likes, sharing everything from philanthropy events to sisterhood activities. Advertisement While she described the journey as 'fun' and 'something I wouldn't trade,' Darnell said it hasn't been easy. 'It's also been really hard to navigate college while being under a microscope,' Darnell previously told Fox News Digital. 'People forget that we're real people.' 4 Darnell, a Zeta Tau Alpha member at the University of Alabama, became a breakout star during 2022's viral 'Bama Rush' TikTok phenomenon. Kylan_Darnell/TikTok The scrutiny has intensified over time, she said, and this year's rush feels 'a lot worse' and 'more amped up.' She asked followers not to tag her in posts about other girls, saying it only fuels unnecessary drama. 'I put myself in a position to be talked about online, but please… just don't involve me in other girls' posts,' she urged. Darnell said her decision to step back isn't about discouraging others from rushing; in fact, she still supports it, but wants to protect her own well-being. Advertisement 'There was a point in my life that my personality was sorority, but I've grown, and it's not really like that anymore.' Darnell said her decision to 'take a couple steps back' is to protect her own peace. 4 Darnell was the former Miss Ohio Teen USA. kylan_darnell/TikTok 'I personally feel that if I was to post this year and to promote it (rush), then I would be doing those girls an injustice,' Darnell explained. Advertisement 'Now I'm not saying don't rush. I loved it. But I'm just saying that I'm in a mental health spot where I've been struggling. I can't go online this year and I won't lie to you guys about it. I've just not been enjoying it. I've not been having fun.' Support poured in from followers, with one commenter praising her 'integrity at such a young age' and another writing, 'Always choose you and what's best for you. Your TikTok fam has your back!' Darnell said while she is still an active member of her sorority, she will take the next three days off from posting online and helping with recruitment to help her little sister with rush and enjoy time with her family. Advertisement 'My family's here, my friends are here and I'm gonna help my little sister go through recruitment because I can already tell it's gonna be really hard for her. That is why I'm not participating this morning. I just need a break because I can't lie to myself anymore this week because I'm really struggling with it. Anyway, I love you all.' Bid Day for thousands of Alabama sorority hopefuls is set for August 17, but this year, Darnell will be watching from the sidelines, prioritizing peace over performance.

‘New Heights' podcast with Taylor Swift returns — hours after ‘glitch'
Wednesday's highly anticipated 'New Heights' podcast featuring special guest star Taylor Swift resumed late Wednesday night after a glitch interrupted its live premiere on YouTube. More than 1 million people were watching the 14-time Grammy winner discuss the theme of her new album, 'The Life of a Showgirl' — a 12-track album that will be released on Oct. 3 — when the livestream went dark about one hour and 44 minutes in. The show returned at 12:37 a.m. ET on Aug. 14 after the 'New Heights' X account shared the link to the show and said 'WE ARE BACK!!!!' with a heart on fire emoji. Advertisement 3 Taylor Swift was discussing the meaning behind her new album, 'The Life of a Showgirl,' on the 'New Heights' podcast when it suddenly stopped due to a glitch on YouTube on August 13, 2025. YouTube/New Heights When the show went down, the podcast account posted on X, 'We hit a glitch but will be back shortly!!!' 'Shoutout all the 92%ers and swifties for actually helping us break the internet.' Advertisement Fever superstar Caitlin Clark recognized the power of the Swifties and pondered the possibility of a crash earlier in the day. 'Are we sure YouTube isn't going to crash tonight?' Clark wrote on X Wednesday afternoon. Prior to the glitch, Swift revealed the cover art of 'The Life of a Showgirl' before sharing the track list. Advertisement Boyfriend Travis Kelce said he knows a lot about the album, teasing it's 'upbeat' and differs from her most recent album, 'The Tortured Poets Department,' which dropped last April. 'Life is more upbeat,' Swift said while smiling at the three-time Super Bowl champ. 3 Taylor Swift and Travis were adorably flirty during her guest appearance on the 'New Heights' podcast was discussing the meaning behind her new album, 'The Life of a Showgirl,' on the 'New Heights' podcast on August 13, 2025. YouTube/New Heights Swift explained that the album cover for 'The Life of a Showgirl,' which features a glamorous shot of the singer floating in a bathtub clad in a bedazzled stage dress, represents 'the end of my night' when she exits the stage following a physically demanding performance, a la her three-hour Eras Tour set. Advertisement 'So when I'm on tour, I have the same day every single day. … And my day ends with me in a bathtub, not usually in a bedazzled dress,' she said. 'I wanted to sort of like glamorize all the different aspects of how that tour felt. And that's how that felt to like be at the end of the night when all this has gone down. You won't be able to get to bed till four in the morning after this. But you had to jump through 50 million hoops in this obstacle course that is your show. And you did it. You got two more in a row. But you did it tonight. 3 Taylor Swift's new album, 'The Life of a Showgirl,' will be released in October. taylorswift Instagram 'And the reason I wanted to have sort of like an offstage moment as the main album cover is because this album isn't really about what happened to me on stage. It's about what I was going through offstage. So I didn't want to have like the lights are bright, I'm on the stage as the main album cover. It's just this. This, to me, tells more of what the actual content, lyrically, of the album are.' Swift said she worked on the album in Europe last summer as she performed the international leg of the Eras Tour. The performances concluded in Canada in December.
