Fermanagh runner raises £5,500 for charity in Tokyo marathon

Following her 50th marathon in March, Fermanagh woman, TikTok personality and owner of K9 Kennels raised £5,500 for two charities and a drone operator.
Aravon McCann's charity fundraising campaign was dedicated to Fermanagh Women's Aid and Lost Paws Northern Ireland, following the escape of a dog from kennels in late 2024.
With the aid of Chris Colton, a drone operator, and Lost Paws NI, they were able to locate the dog in the Lisbellaw area and reunite it with its owners.
To show her appreciation, Aravon dedicated her March marathon in Tokyo, Japan, which was part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors, as an opportunity to raise money.
Aravon has completed all six races in the Marathon Majors twice, run 50 marathons in the last 10 years, and raised money for charity numerous times.
On Thursday, April 10, Aravon presented cheques to Katelyn Mannion from Lost Paws NI and Sinead Hoy from Fermanagh Women's Aid.
The £5,500 collected was divided between the two charities and the drone operator. Fermanagh Women's Aid received £3,000, Lost Paws NI was allocated £2,000, and £500 went to Chris's drone to help purchase extra batteries.
Aravon expressed her gratitude to the local community for their support.
She said: 'The support of the local people was unbelievable. And without them, I couldn't have raised the money.'
