Lindsay Lohan named Schwarzkopf ambassador after hair makeover

Perth Now09-07-2025
Lindsay Lohan has been named an ambassador for haircare company Schwarzkopf after undergoing a glamorous makeover this year.
The Hollywood actress debuted a new hair colour back in March with a shade dubbed "Soft Gloss Blonde" and she's now teamed up with the brand for a campaign which tells the story of her "glow up" and how she's found her "confidence again" after being introduced to the products through her longtime colourist Tracey Cunningham.
The Mean Girls star said in a statement: "Tracey is more than my colorist - she's a trusted creative partner. Whether I'm in a new movie or walking a red carpet - there's only one shot to get my hair color right and it's often a really tight turnaround.
"Tracey is the ultimate collaborator, and I love that she takes the time to explain what products she uses and why. I learned about Schwarzkopf through Tracey because the result is so incredible every time and it's now the only brand I trust in the salon."
Teresa Cordova, head of Schwarzkopf masterbrand U.S., added: "Lindsay is such a cultural icon. She's been someone who is universally recognized for her hair, but also adored by Millennials, Gen Z, all generations.
"When we started to look at the campaigns we wanted to work on this year, relevant in the U.S. market and to us as a brand, what we stand for and our vision, Lindsay and having a partnership with her was very clear to us. We wanted to tell the story of her hair, her glow-up and her relationship with her stylist.
"We really wanted to lean into this understanding that consumers change their hair when they're going through a big life change. We tell that story with Lindsay in the way of her finding that confidence again."
Lindsay's longtime collaborator Cunningham added: "I couldn't be more excited to partner with Lindsay on this campaign.
"We've been working together from the very beginning and I can't remember my life before her. For the first time, we are unveiling Lindsay's signature blonde formula.
"Schwarzkopf Professional's Igora Vibrance and BlondMe were the keys to helping me safely lift her hair from red to blond while maintaining the ultimate vibrance and shine.
"It's imperative that the color formulas I use on my clients really work because there's zero room to make a mistake ahead of a red carpet moment. I can trust that Schwarzkopf will always deliver the best results."

American Eagle responds to criticism of Sydney Sweeney jeans campaign

American Eagle has defended Sydney Sweeney amid online criticism of the star's advertising campaign with the company. The retailer revealed a series of adverts with the Euphoria actress with the tagline 'Sydney Sweeney has great jeans' last week but the pun was met with a fierce backlash on social media as the phrase "great genes" has a historical association with eugenicists - who claim that humanity can be improved genetically through selective breeding. American Eagle wrote in a Instagram post on Friday (01.08.25): "'Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans' is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story. "We'll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone." Sydney explained how she was "freaking out" when she was approached to star in the campaign - which saw the company's stock surge by 10 per cent - as she has long been a fan of American Eagle's jeans. The 27-year-old star told People: "I was freaking out because I was like, 'This is perfect', and I was so excited. "When they were like, 'We want it to be a denim campaign', I was through the roof. I was like, 'This is it. This is Syd. I will be able to bring this to life. You have no idea.'" Sydney declared that she feels "confident and comfortable" in the brand's denim. The Echo Valley star said in a statement: "There is something so effortless about American Eagle - it's the perfect balance of being put-together but still feeling like yourself. "Their commitment to creating pieces that make you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin is something that resonates with me. "It's rare to find a brand that grows with you, the way American Eagle has for generations. They have literally been there with me through every version of myself." American Eagle's chief marketing officer Craig Brommers said that signing up Sweeney was hugely significant for the company because the actress is the "It girl of the moment". He told WWD: "I think this is potentially one of the biggest gets in American Eagle history. "Sydney Sweeney is the It girl of the moment, and she is helping us create the It jeans campaign of the season. Sydney really encapsulates American Eagle. "She is the girl who can play the red carpet but she's also the girl next door, and that duality really defines Gen Z and Millennials."

She said: "Motherhood opened up a new world for me, full of emotions and responsibilities. It allowed me to portray Anna Coleman in a deeper and more empathetic light: she's a woman trying to do everything to the best of her ability, like millions of other women, torn between home and work." However, Lohan, 39, did not bring Luai on set because she thinks it's important to keep work and family life separate. She shared: "I try to keep family and work separate. The biggest challenge for a mother is managing time. I try to be there as much as possible: in the morning before filming, and in the evening when I get back. When I'm not working, I'm simply a mother. My son, for now, stays out of the spotlight." Despite the tribulations she went through as she transitioned from being a child actress to an adult, such as spells in rehab and legal issues, Lohan would not try and stop him from following in her acting footsteps. She said: "He'll do what he wants, and I'll always support him. In the meantime... he needs to finish his plate of vegetables."
