Steelers Land Massive DT in Latest Mock Draft
Derrick Harmon, Oregon Athletics
NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein has the Pittsburgh Steelers landing Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon at 26th overall in his latest mock draft. Zierlein had a scenario where the Steelers traded back with the Los Angeles Rams.

On Monday, general manager Omar Khan hinted the Steelers are interested in making a trade to get themselves back into the second round. The Steelers would also fill a major need by landing the massive DT out of Oregon.
'Earlier in the pre-draft process, an NFC executive told me that Harmon 'plays like a Raven or a Steeler.' Well here we are, and the Steelers still need defensive line help after moving back in this mock,' Zierlein wrote.

Harmon, 21, likely solidified himself as a first-round pick at the NFL Scouting Combine. The 6-foot-4 1/2, 313-pound defensive tackle ran an impressive 4.95-second 40-yard dash and 1.74-second 10-yard split.

However, Harmon's 2024 campaign made a strong argument that should be the case, too. Last season, he had a career-high 45 tackles (27 solo), five sacks, two forced fumbles and two passes defensed.
Before transferring to Oregon in 2024, Harmon spent three years at Michigan State, where he recorded 69 tackles (24 solo), 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble and two passes defended.
Harmon may not only be Heyward's future replacement, but also Heyward 2.0. The Oregon product has already received several comparisons to Heyward throughout the pre-draft process.
n fact, Harmon himself revealed he's watched Heyward for inspiration at the NFL level.

'Definitely Cam,' Harmon said. 'The run, how he plays that run. If I want to watch some run tape, I'm turning on Cam Heyward.'
Depending on how the draft falls, he might just get the chance to learn from Heyward up close before eventually taking his place.

Micah Parsons: Waiting on contract extension is going to cost Cowboys more
No one can figure out what the Cowboys are doing by waiting to sign their star players to contract extensions. They have even edge rusher Micah Parsons puzzled. Parsons became eligible for a contract extension after the 2023 season. He still is waiting. The four-time Pro Bowler acknowledged he plans to become the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league, and with edge rushers T.J. Watt and Trey Hendrickson also awaiting contract extensions, Parsons said it's likely going to cost Jerry Jones more money. 'It's going to cost them more,' Parsons told Clarence Hill of All City DLLS on Thursday. Parsons and Jones confirmed to Hill they had a handshake deal in March, but Jones never called Parsons' agent, David Mulugheta, to finalize it. Parsons told Hill he has seen the deal Watt is seeking from the Steelers, and it is more than he and Jones discussed. Thus, Parsons expects that his final number will go higher than originally thought. The highest-paid non-quarterback is Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase, who is making $40.25 million annually. Parsons is hopeful of completing a deal before the Cowboys begin training camp on July 21. Otherwise, he said he will report but not practice. He is headed into the final year of his rookie deal scheduled to make $24 million on the fifth-year option.

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers are headed into a 2025 season that has just one goal attached to it. They want to win a Super Bowl. Signing a 41-year-old quarterback is a clear sign that they want to win. Rodgers has the talent still to help them pursue that goal. However, there are a lot of questions that need to be answered. Mike Tomlin and the Steelers have been successful throughout his tenure with the franchise. He has never coached a losing season. That simply isn't good enough this season. Aaron Rodgers #8 of the Pittsburgh Steelers in action during Minicamp at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on June 11, 2025 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Photo byNot only does Pittsburgh want to have another winning season, it wants to make a deep playoff run. It's clear that the Steelers truly believe Rodgers can help them do that. Read more: Steelers Linked to Elite New Weapon for Aaron Rodgers Last season with the New York Jets, Rodgers showed flashes of his old self. In his first year following a torn Achilles, he completed 63 percent of his pass attempts for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Those numbers gave reason for optimism. One of the most important keys to making things work this season between Rodgers and the team will be open communication. That is something former Pittsburgh cornerback Joe Haden spoke out honestly about when giving advice to Rodgers about his new chapter. "You just got to be a grown man, go there, be honest," Haden said. "Coach Tomlin does a great job of being able to build real, genuine relationships with people. Me and him had a relationship where you could just talk... One thing he's going to do, he's going to be blatantly honest with you, so you just need to be honest with him. Coach Tomlin is so real. There's no fluff, there's no fake, so when he tells you something, he means it." Read more: Steelers Receive Major Promise From Aaron Rodgers Entering 2025 Rodgers has never been shy about speaking up and making his voice heard. He will have no problem being honest with Tomlin about his thoughts on the team and direction. It will be interesting to see how the 2025 season goes for the Steelers. They have a talented roster put together that will lean heavily on Rodgers being able to play at an elite level. Haden's advice is sound advice and Rodgers is sure to take it. His job is to come in, play at a high level, and take over a strong leadership role within the offense. Those are roles he has played at an elite level in the past and should be able to do so again.
