The much-anticipated action thriller King, starring Shah Rukh Khan, has been grabbing attention for a long time. The film marks the big-screen debut of Suhana Khan, who will share the screen with her father for the first time. Joining the ensemble cast is Abhay Verma, recognized for his performance in Munjya, who has been cast in a pivotal role. Mid-day has reported that the actors have started shooting.
The entertainment portal reported a slight delay in the shoot, which was supposed to go on floors on May 16. Sources mentioned that director Sidharth Anand has begun filming the film. However, Suhana and Abhay Verma have begun shooting in Mehboob studio. 'Though initially Abhay was to join around June–July, some scheduling changes have happened," informs a source.
'Some of the action that involves Shah Rukh's body double have been shot already. [The makers have ensured] massive security to avoid leaks from their set [in Bandra]," says another insider of the film. Slated for a release in 2026, the film features Shah Rukh Khan in the titular role, portraying a powerful assassin entrenched in the criminal underworld. While Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Abhay Verma are already confirmed for the film. Recent reports claim that Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Arshad Warsi and Anil Kapoor have also been roped in for pivotal roles.
Marking her first film with her father, Suhana will be seen as Shah Rukh's student, taking training for deadly missions. Reportedly, both SRK and Suhana have undergone intense physical training for the film. Meanwhile, Abhay Verma will reportedly play Suhana's boyfriend in the film.
'Rani Mukerji has been cast to play the part of Suhana Khan's mother, and it's a role which acts as a catalyst for the entire action-thriller in the film. It was a no-brainer for Rani to say yes to Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand's offer for King. She heard the part, and instantly agreed to on board the film. Rani's track is the heart of King, leading to the emotional depth," a source told Pinkvilla.
Reportedly, Deepika will join the film as Suhana's mother. As per a Pinkvilla report, Deepika will have a 'full-length role, and a lot more than just a cameo" in King. 'Shah Rukh Khan was always clear to have Deepika Padukone on board 'King'. Initially, the dates did not match as Deepika was taking time off to be with the newborn kid," the source said. Deepika and SRK have worked together in several films like Pathaan, Om Shanti Om and Chennai Express among others.

To mask their identities as Sri Lankans, they are introduced in the locality as Malayalees. The Good: The Tourist Family is a refreshing departure from the trends of blazing guns and violent action.
