Akshay Kumar -led Housefull 5 has been grabbing headlines after the retailer of the film was released recently. The film has also received a censor certificate from CBFC after 11 seconds of trimming as per a report in Bollywood Hungama. Now, director Tarun Mansukhani opened up about the shoot on a cruise, facing an objection from the caption to stop filming because of the storm. In an interview with Mid-day, Housefull 5 director Tarun Mansukhani opened up on the challenges they faced during filming with 19 stars on a cruise for 40 days. He shared that the very first thing he did was to memorize its layout to avoid delays, and maintaining balance during shots added to the difficulty. The filmmaker also added that the constantly shifting weather conditions further complicated the process, with the team even facing a severe storm during last year's shoot. He said, 'I remember during the storm, people couldn't stand, and cameras were about to fly off. On the second day of the storm, the captain told me I had to stop filming due to safety concerns.' Tarun also opened up on taking a long hiatus after his last film Drive in 2019. He shared that it took more than a year to just finalize the script of Housefull 5. He also shared that as he is the new entry to the franchise, new ideas and stories came to him 'naturally'. The Housefull 5 director further shared that Sajid Nadiadwala has helped him being 'rooted' in this franchise. Calling it the first film to reach the fifth part, he added the major fan following the iconic franchise has. Tarun Mansukhani also opened up on giving every actor perfect screen time and shared that he only approached the 'big' stars after he liked the character while scripting. He admitted that getting star cast on board for a few scenes didn't seem correct and roped them for prominent roles. The filmmaker further talked about Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff's fun antics during the shoot, something he hadn't ever seen before. Calling them a 'riot', he added that he was surprised witnessing their energy on the sets. Meanwhile, Housefull 5 stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Nana Patekar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Jackie Shroff, Chitrangada Singh, Soundarya Sharma, Chunky Pandey, Nikitin Dheer, Johnny Lever, Dino Morea, Shreyas Talpade and Fardeen Khan in pivotal roles. The much-awaited film will be released in theaters on June 6, 2025.

The film, directed by Anurag Singh, is a sequel to the iconic 1997 movie Border and features a star-studded cast including Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty. Pinkvilla has exclusively reported that Diljit will be starting the shoot of his part from June. And most likely, the shooting will be completed in August. Makers are eyeing a 2026 Republic Day release. Well, an official confirmation is still awaited. The entertainment portal quoted a source saying, 'Diljit Dosanjh plays a very interesting part in Border, bringing in the heart to the tale of the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. He begins his journey on Border 2 from June 10, and will be shooting for the sequences with Sunny Deol in the first leg." The source further informs that the actor will shoot with Varun Dhawan in the second leg of his stint, starting from July. 'Diljit has powerful moments with Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan, as also Ahan Shetty. There's also a strong backstory to his role," the source adds. Anurag Singh is looking to call it a wrap on Border 2 by August 10. 'While Sunny Deol is looking to finish shooting for large-chunk of his role in June end, Diljit Dosanjh and Varun Dhawan will wrap up their part in the month of August 2025," the source concludes. Earlier, Mid-day has reported that Varun would play Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, who received the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery and was promoted to Colonel after the 1971 Indo-Pak war in 1976. The source further mentioned 'Apart from holding look sessions with designer Sheetal Sharma, Varun met Indian officers, celebrated Army Day with them and [in conversations] tried to gain a deeper understanding of their lives," said a source, adding that the cast and crew prepped for a year before going on floors. 'Varun's scenes will begin with his departure from Sisana village in Haryana, joining the army, to his journey in the Indo-Pak war." Border 2 was announced in June last year. Sunny Deol is all set to reprise his iconic character from JP Dutta's 1997 blockbuster war film Border, in this highly anticipated sequel. The cast also includes Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. The film, directed by Anurag Singh, is backed by a powerhouse production team comprising Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. Now, filmmaker Priyadarshan, who was supposed to direct Hera Pheri 3 , revealed that Akshay Kumar had tears in his eyes when he came to know about Paresh Rawal's exit. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The copyright issue In an interview with Mid-day, the director also revealed, 'Akshay bought the entire rights of the Hera Pheri franchise for Rs 10 crore from Firoz Nadiadwala, who had produced the first two [parts]. This is not just for Hera Pheri 3 but the entire franchise. I know this as I have seen the paperwork for it.' Priyadarshan added, 'In the absence of these and also since Mr Nadiadwala, the producer of the original films, issued notice to our client and raised issues on the making of the film, our client chose to exit and returned the money with interest by terminating the Term sheet.' What Akshay Kumar said about Paresh Rawal's exit 'Firstly, I'd like to tell you that using such kind of word for my co-star, foolish, is something I'd not appreciate. That's not right. I have been working with him for the last 32 years. We are very good friends. He's a great actor. I really admire him. I don't think this is a place where I am going to talk about it because… it's a very serious matter. It is a matter which is going to be handled by the courts. Hence, I don't think I am going to speak about it here,' said the actor at Housefull 5's trailer launch.
