Tusshar Kapoor on joining the cast of 'Masti 4': 'It feels like a reunion because...'
Tusshar Kapoor has officially joined the ensemble cast of Masti 4, and the actor has spoken about it as per a report by Mid-day.
On stepping into this new role, Tusshar shares, 'Masti is a bonafide and successful brand in the comic genre, my role is an interesting new addition and I wanted to collaborate with Indra Kumar ji and Amar Jhunjhunwala for a long time for something worthwhile! Plus Milap Zaveri and I have worked earlier, but this time around it's much bigger and better, too!'
STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD
Adding further, he reveals, 'I readily accepted this film after hearing a brief narration of the story and my role in it! I can't reveal much about my character now but it's something you've never seen me do before! I had to watch a few regional as well as foreign language films to prepare for it!'
When asked about the on-set chemistry with the original trio, Tusshar reflects, 'I've worked with all the 3 actors separately before and with Riteish and Aftab in a similar zone for Kyaa Kool Hai Hum! Therefore, there was no reason to be concerned about the chemistry between us and, most importantly, they welcomed me with open arms when I reached the outdoor venue where the film was being shot! We were all excited and in sync with each other from the very 1st day! I'm sure the camaraderie and fun off‑screen will reflect on‑screen, too!'
Addressing the film's tone, which balances bold content with wider appeal, Tusshar says, 'Masti 4 is an adult but family comedy and has been written keeping the sensibilities of the wider audience in mind. My job as an actor is to do my job with sincerity and I've stuck to doing that with conviction! Regarding the boldness of it, my director is more concerned than me about the limits of the Masti universe and he'd be best able to explain further!'

What's the most expensive Labubu doll in the world? How much did it sell for?
Even as many people are taking to burning their Labubus, there are still people who are ready to buy it no matter what the price. A rare Labubu x Vans plush doll sold for a jaw-dropping $10,585 on eBay, smashing previous resale records and cementing the toy's growing status as a series collector's item. Labubu's collaboration with Vans becomes the most expensive on eBay.(@LABUBU_0x/X) According to a New York Post report, the Labubu doll was originally released in 2023 as part of a blind-box collaboration between Chinese toy giant Pop Mart and skatewear brand Vans. The grey-brown Labubu was initially priced at just $85. With the recent sale, its value has multiplied 125 times in less than two years, making it the most expensive Labubu ever sold on the online platform. Also Read: Did Annabelle doll just get a legal guardian? All about comedian Matt Rife's most controversial purchase Another Forbes report stated that the recently auctioned Vans Labubu stood out for its limited availability and trendy streetwear outfit. It sports classic Vans Sk8-Mid sneakers, a matching sweatshirt, and a blue-orange cap emblazoned with 'The Monsters'. With 96 competing bids, the doll's final sale price broke records and signalled the growing demand for rare Labubus. All about the viral Labubu dolls Labubus are quirky, toothy plush dolls inspired by Nordic mythology and created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung; they have become a global phenomenon. Labubus first appeared as part of Pop Mart's The Monsters collection in blind boxes, and these plushies often sell for $20 to $40, with buyers unaware of which character they will get, the NY Post report added. Also read: Shanghai police bust gang selling fake Labubu dolls worth $1.7 million Some of the most expensive Labubu dolls Not all Labubus are created equal. The high resale prices are largely driven by the brand's 'secret editions', ultra-rare dolls that appear in only one out of every 72 or even 144 boxes, the NY Post report added. One such example is the pink 'Catch Me If You Like Me' Labubu, a secret edition that fetched $2,000 on eBay in early 2024. In May, a set of 'Three Wise Labubu' dolls was sold for $28,300 at a Sotheby's auction. A life-sized version even crossed the $150,000 mark at a Chinese auction house in June. What is 'Labubu Hunger Games'? Labubu drops, which usually happen online on Thursday nights and in-store on Friday mornings, unleash chaos. Collectors often line up before dawn, and some stores even hold back inventory to prevent fights. This trend, the NY Post report stated, has been dubbed 'Labubu Hunger Games' in the United Kingdom. Experts, meanwhile, think this is more than a temporary trend. Dr Lori Verderame, a collectible appraiser known for her work on the History Channel, told Forbes that Labubus are 'here to stay' and she compared them to Beanie Babies and Cabbage Patch Dolls. Speaking to the publication, she said, 'Labubus are grounded in international children's literature and modern art culture, which makes them appealing to both collectors and investors.' FAQs Q1: What is Labubu? Labubu is a plush collectible toy character designed by artist Kasing Lung and manufactured by Pop Mart. It's part of 'The Monsters' series. Q2: Why are Labubus so expensive? Their value comes from limited availability, blind box sales, rare secret editions, and collector demand. Q3: How much was the most expensive Labubu ever sold? The most expensive Labubu sold on eBay went for $10,585. Other rare versions have fetched over $150,000 at auction. Q4: Can Labubus be considered an investment? Yes, experts say Labubus have potential for long-term value due to scarcity and cultural appeal. Q5: What is a blind box? A blind box is a mystery-packaged toy; buyers don't know which version they're getting until they open it.

Ranbir Kapoor Dropped THIS Veteran Singers Biopic For Nitesh Tiwaris Ramayana- Check Details
New Delhi: Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has already generated buzz with his upcoming movie Ramayana, where he will be seen portraying Lord Ram. The much-anticipated film will be released in two parts the first in Diwali 2026 and the second in Diwali 2027. However, this commitment came at the cost of another major project. In a conversation with BBC News, director Anurag Basu revealed that Ranbir Kapoor had to let go of the long-awaited biopic of legendary singer Kishore Kumar. 'Ranbir had a tough choice in life — Kishore Kumar or Ramayana. It was very difficult for him. In the end, he chose Ramayana, and I think it was the right decision,' Basu said. Basu, who was set to direct the biopic, has previously collaborated with Ranbir on acclaimed films like Barfi (2012) and Jagga Jasoos (2017). The duo has often expressed their desire to work together again, but conflicting schedules have stood in the way. 'We keep trying to work together, but it's just not happening,' Basu added. A report by Indian Express stated that after Ranbir turned down the biopic, Aamir Khan was reportedly considered for the role of Kishore Kumar. However, Basu did not confirm this and told Mid-Day, 'Until everything is finalised and the contract is signed, I don't think I should speak on it. This project has seen many ups and downs over the years. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it happens this time and I go on set with the story, which I've been trying to tell for the last decade. I won't jinx it by speaking about it.' Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, Ramayana also stars Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Arun Govil, Ravi Dubey, and Lara Dutta. The two-part epic is set to hit theatres on Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027. Meanwhile, Anurag Basu's directorial Metro... In Dino premiered theatrically on July 4 and received positive reviews. His next film, starring Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela, is reportedly scheduled for release in 2026.

SSMB29 Teaser Not Releasing On Mahesh Babu's Birthday? Here's What We Know
Last Updated: India Today has exclusively reported that SS Rajamouli is planning to skip the teaser release. Priyanka Chopra is also starred in the film Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra starrer SSMB29 has been grabbing attention for a long time. The much-anticipated project is directed by S.S. Rajamouli. With the superstar's birthday approaching on August 9, many speculated that the makers would drop a teaser to mark the occasion. However, fresh reports suggest that the teaser might not be released on Mahesh Babu's birthday. Scroll down to read the reason. India Today has exclusively reported that the director has decided to skip the traditional birthday release. A source close reveals, 'There were internal discussions about putting out a title teaser or even a concept poster for Mahesh Babu's birthday. But Rajamouli was clear, he doesn't want to rush anything just for the sake of the date. He believes the scale of this film demands a different kind of reveal." The source further adds, 'This isn't your typical mass film where you can release a first-look poster with fiery eyes and a punchline. Rajamouli is working on an international-level action adventure, and every asset has to be timed globally. He's not thinking just of fans in Telugu states, he's thinking of audiences across continents." Earlier, Mid-Day reported that the original plans for filming in South Africa have now been shelved. The team had previously considered Kenya and South Africa for the film's next schedule but encountered challenges in both countries. The Kenyan leg was cancelled earlier due to political instability, and now, South Africa has also been dropped from the itinerary. Filming in Tanzania is expected to begin in the second week of August. The shoot will take place in the Serengeti, a vast protected ecosystem known for its unique wildlife and raw landscapes. The team is reportedly planning a five-week schedule there, starting with an elaborate action sequence. A crew of around 200 members is expected to be involved in this phase of production. SSMB29 had earlier gone on floors in Hyderabad and later wrapped up a schedule in Odisha. The shift to Tanzania marks the next major leg of filming for the epic, which also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and R Madhavan in important roles. According to Gulte, the makers have no plans to drop any teaser or announcement on Mahesh's birthday — a fresh departure from the usual tradition of sharing big film updates on celebs' special days. Instead, the report indicates that the announcement will take more time but is being prepped as a 'global phenomenon." With a reported budget of $116 million, the project is already being positioned as a global cinematic experience. As per India Today, a source revealed, 'August is when the cameras start rolling again. Mahesh has been undergoing extensive physical training, and Priyanka's dates have been locked in after long coordination. This schedule is going to be intense and crucial for the story arc." In the meantime, Mahesh Babu recently returned from a family vacation in Sri Lanka, where he celebrated his daughter Sitara's birthday. He is expected to dive into an intense shooting schedule for SSMB29 from August 2025. First Published: August 01, 2025, 17:33 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
