Peppa Pig's family break their silence after birth of baby Evie as Mummy Pig reveals all on her 'miracle' birth and whether she is planning more piglets

Daily Mail21-05-2025
Peppa Pig's family have revealed how the new member of their family Evie has settled into the family, 24 hours after her birth.
The cartoon family's happy news was revealed on Tuesday, with Mummy and Daddy Pig's third child, a sister for Peppa, four, and George, two, born at London's Lindo Wing.
And to celebrate the birth, the new family of five have taken part in an 'at home' interview with Hello! Magazine, further tapping into the celebriry hysteria which is surrounding them currently.
In the tell-all Daddy and Mummy Pig, speaking just hours after giving birth, gushed that the birth of their third piglet was 'a miracle.'
'We were very lucky – everything went smoothly and in eight, um, "short" hours of labour Evie was here,' the cartoon matriarch told the magazine.
Daddy Pig sweetly added: 'Mummy pig was AMAZING, and she brought our new baby girl into the world. What a miracle that is!'

The family have been on screens since 2004 and in that time have remained a family of four, with Peppa and George not ageing throughout 21 years on screen.
So when did the couple decide to add to their brood?
'I don't think either of us ever had a specific plan – but we just got to that place where timing felt right,' Mummy Pig explained.
Daddy Pig agreed, adding: 'And everything fell into place. We're very lucky to be able to grow our family.'
But the couple were more hesitant about adding a fourth child to their family, with Daddy Pig panicking before Mummy Pig jumped in to clarify: 'I think we're more than happy with our family of five! We're excited to settle into our new adventure and see where that takes us.'
Mummy and Daddy Pig confirmed the happy news on Good Morning Britain, revealing their third piglet's name is Evie.
Mummy Pig, who has a job involving doing 'very important work' on her computer and Daddy Pig, who 'takes big numbers, transmutes them and calculates their load-bearing tangents,' welcomed their little girl at the Lindo Wing in London - the same location where Kate Middleton gave birth to all three of her children.
The birth was announced with a royal-inspired twist on the classic royal birth announcement, complete with a town crier, a scroll-style proclamation, and the unveiling of an official Peppa Pig birth certificate.
Big siblings Peppa and George are said to be over the moon and excited to meet their new baby sister, while Mummy and Daddy Pig are 'looking forward to lots of happy snorts and sleepless nights.'
GMB revealed that 'understandably, Mummy Pig is resting but Daddy Pig has let me know he will be free to catch up next week for his first ever TV interview and another glimpse of the new baby.'
All new episodes of Peppa Pig will be launching on Milkshake from September.

Convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby welcomes a new family member after sparking engagement rumours

Schapelle Corby has taken to social media to announce a new 'family' member. Posting to her stories on Wednesday, the 47-year-old shared a photo in which she could be seen posing alongside a handsome-looking white rooster. 'Meet George,' she captioned the cute selfie. Wearing her long red locks out for the post, Schapelle looked very pleased with her new companion. She also shared another selfie of George in which the chook could be seen posing against bushland. Followers were quick to congratulate Schapelle on the fresh addition to her home. 'Hey George, you're so cute,' messaged one user, while another added a flirty, 'Cute, like its owner.' It comes after the convicted drug smuggler turned influencer was recently seen with a 'mystery man'. Schapelle hugged the male pal as she arrived at Gold Coast airport back in May. Last year, Schapelle left her many fans wondering if she's getting ready to walk down the aisle. Schapelle, who was at the time celebrating her 47th birthday in Paris, set tongues wagging after an eagle-eyed fan spotted a sparkling ring on her left hand. However, it appears not all was what it seems. A close look at the image shows the picture has been 'flipped', and the flashy ring she is sporting is actually on her right hand. A tell-tale give away that the picture has been 'mirrored' is that the Olympic rings seen on the Eiffel Tower in the background of the photo are around the wrong way. In 2020, Schapelle split from her Indonesian boyfriend Ben Panangian after 16 years together. She revealed her long-distance relationship with Ben, 45, was over and that she was looking for her Prince Charming. The couple met in a Bali prison in 2006 when they were both serving time for drug-related offences, but hadn't seen each other in person since 2019. She has not publicly dated anyone since. Schapelle was incarcerated for nine years for attempting to smuggle cannabis into Indonesia. She was arrested at Bali airport in October 2004 with 4.2kg of cannabis wrapped in plastic inside her boogie board bag. Schapelle has always maintained her innocence and her lawyers argued she had unintentionally become a drug mule, suggesting baggage handlers put the drugs in her bag. She was released in 2014.

Joanna Lumley and Tulisa confirmed for Cheltenham Literature Festival 2025

Actress Dame Joanna Lumley and singer Tulisa Contostavlos are among the celebrities confirmed to be appearing at Cheltenham Literature Festival 2025. Thought to be the world's oldest literature festival, the event, which was first held in 1949, features talks and discussions from a variety of authors, journalists and public figures. In October, The Times and The Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival will host more than 400 events in a programme that includes conversations with chat show host Graham Norton, activist and TV star Katie Piper, actor Sir Michael Palin, and BBC director-general Tim Davie. At the 10-day event, Absolutely Fabulous actress Dame Joanna, 79, will be interviewed by broadcaster Emma Freud about her forthcoming book, My Book Of Treasures: A Collection Of Favourite Writings, which is comprised of her favourite writings, thoughts and quotes, as written in her private notebooks. The veteran TV star, who appears in the latest series of Tim Burton's Netflix show Wednesday, has written a number of books, including 2011's Absolutely: A Memoir, which contains anecdotes from across her personal life and career. Contostavlos, of N-Dubz fame, will talk about her new book, Judgement, which details the highs and lows of her music career, including her collapsed drugs trial in 2014. The 37-year-old was arrested on suspicion of supplying class A drugs in 2013, but the charges were later dismissed after prosecution witness, 'Fake Sheikh' journalist Mazher Mahmood, was found guilty of tampering with evidence in the trial. Following the collapse of the trial Contostavlos said 'I have never dealt drugs and never been involved in taking or dealing cocaine' in a statement where she also accused Mahmood of a 'horrific and disgusting entrapment'. This year's fiction programme includes talks with Women's Prize for Fiction winner Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Atonement author Ian McEwan, children's author Dame Jacqueline Wilson and Kate Mosse, who will discuss the 20th anniversary of her historical fiction novel Labyrinth. In a talk with screenwriter Edward Docx, novelist Mick Herron will discuss Clown Town, the latest book in his Slough House series, which inspired the TV show Slow Horses, featuring Oscar-winning actor Sir Gary Oldman. Numerous stars from across the TV and film industry will gather for the festival, including Love Actually creator Richard Curtis, who will interview writer and comedian Ben Elton about his new autobiography and experience creating BBC sitcom Upstart Crow and writing for The Young Ones and Blackadder. Elsewhere, game show host Richard Osman will discuss the fifth novel in his Thursday Murder Club series, the first of which has been adapted for a film starring Dame Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan. Sharing moments from her new memoir Lush will be Gavin And Stacey star Joanna Page, whose book charts her journey from a small Welsh village to one of Britain's biggest sitcoms. In a separate event, her co-star Larry Lamb will present his debut novel All Wrapped Up, with his son and TV presenter George Lamb. Some of the talks will look at and dissect social issues, with Rizzle Kicks star Jordan Stephens questioning if masculinity is in crisis alongside writers Laura Bates and James Bloodworth. There will also be a live recording of Jane Garvey and Fi Glover's Times Radio show where they will be joined by model Penny Lancaster to discuss her forthcoming memoir, Someone Like Me, where she opens up about navigating fame and life with her husband Sir Rod Stewart. Among the other events is a talk with food writer Nigel Slater, who shares A Thousand Feasts, a memoir with anecdotes taken from his own notebooks. Former deputy prime minister Sir Nick Clegg, French chef Raymond Blanc, Olympic gold medallist Sir Bradley Wiggins, wildlife cameraman Hamza Yassin, World Wide Web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee and professor of genetics Dr Tim Spector are among the other public figures scheduled to appear. The Times and Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival will take place from October 10-19.
