LOCKED UP Besotted US hitwoman in burka disguise jailed for trying to kill shop owner in shooting after falling for his rival
A BESOTTED hitwoman in a burka disguise has been jailed for trying to murder a shop owner in a botched hit after falling for his rival.

The 45-year-old arrived in Birmingham, West Midlands, and disguised herself under a burka to carry out the contract hit.
Lovestruck Beto had fallen in love with Nazir despite the pair meeting just three times.
But when she pointed the gun at Sikander Ali's head and pulled the trigger, the weapon jammed and the target was able to flee.

Undeterred, she later went to Sikander's home and fired three shots before flying back to America.
Betro has now been jailed for 30 years after she was convicted of conspiracy to murder and possessing a self-loading pistol with intent to cause fear of violence.
She was also found guilty of a charge of illegally importing ammunition following a trial.
Judge Simon Drew KC said: "You went beyond simply reaching an agreement to kill and, in reality, you did intend to kill Mr Ali.

"It is only a matter of chance that Mr Ali wasn't killed."
Nazir and Aslam were previously jailed for a total of 42 years after they were found guilty of conspiracy to murder.
Birmingham Crown Court heard the pair hatched the plot following a fight at a boutique clothing store in 2018.
Both Nazir and Aslam harboured a grudge against Aslat Mahumad and his family after they came off worse in the scuffle.
Hell-bent on revenge, they enlisted the help of the hitwoman - flying her over from the US so she could execute him or a loved one.

CCTV showed Betro lying in wait outside the shop owner's family home in a Mercedes she had bought earlier that day.
Around 45 minutes later, Aslat's son Sikander arrived home - with Betro leaving her car with her face covered.
She was seen firing the gun at point-blank range before it jammed during the September 2019 attack.
Sikander then escaped by reversing his SUV out of the road, clipping the car door of the BMW and damaging it so badly it would no longer close.
After the failed shooting, Betro messaged Aslat asking him where he was hiding.

She added: "Stop playing hide and seek, you are lucky it jammed."
Betro later returned to the scene in a taxi and fired three shots through the windows of Aslat's home.
The damaged Mercedes was later found dumped, with cops finding a black glove with Betro's DNA on it.
Meanwhile, Betro fled to Manchester Airport and was back in the US the following day.
A global hunt was launched for Betro, who had taken selfies before the shooting, and she was arrested in Armenia.

She denied conspiracy to murder, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence and smuggling of ammunition into the UK.

It followed several near misses throughout the high stakes police chase. Advertisement Edwards was driving a silver Mercedes C200 when traffic cops tried to pull him over on April 27, 2025. Instead, he led them on a reckless road race during which he nearly rammed a police car off the road. As he reached speeds of 130mph along the 60mph dual carriageway, dash-cam footage shows Edwards nearly forcing a police car off the road as they pass a broken-down vehicle near a junction. Maintaining his 60mph speed, he races through a residential area, drives the wrong way round roundabouts and mounts a pavement. Advertisement He also performs a number of dangerous manoeuvres, repeatedly swerving between lanes around other vehicles. Edwards' luck eventually ran out when he crashed into the side of a KIA Niro, forcing it into a brick wall. The occupants of the KIA received minor injuries. He then lost control of the Mercedes and collided with wooden bollards before coming to a stop in a bush. Arresting officer PC Matthew Bland of Northamptonshire Police's Roads Policing Team said: "I hope Casey Edwards is aware that his dangerous and reckless use of the roads that day put the lives of innocent people at risk. "It was just sheer luck no-one was seriously injured. "Reducing the number of people who are killed or seriously injured on the county's roads continues to be a priority for our team, and so I am pleased that the courts have helped to remove another irresponsible and illegal driver from our roads." 6 The reckless driver crashed into the side of a KIA Niro, causing minor injuries to its passengers Credit: SWNS Advertisement

Police arrest jockey over alleged assault of a fellow rider which left them with ‘serious injuries'

JOCKEY ARREST Police arrest jockey over alleged assault of a fellow rider which left them with 'serious injuries' POLICE have arrested an apprentice jockey after they allegedly assaulted a fellow rider, leaving them with 'serious facial injuries'. The jockey, who is 21 and based in Newmarket, has been placed on bail until November while Suffolk Police continue their investigation. 1 A jockey has been arrested on suspicion of assault Credit: PA:Press Association Earlier this month, cops were called to an address in Exning, near Newmarket, following reports of an assault. A man in his 20s, understood to be another apprentice jockey, required hospital treatment with what police described as 'serious facial injuries', though no arrests were made at that point in time. Suffolk Police said in statement sent to the Sun on August 7: "Police were called 5.07pm on 4 August to reports a man aged in their 20s had been assaulted the previous night in Exning near Newmarket and had attended hospital with serious facial injuries. "Police investigating. Currently no arrests. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police quoting crime reference 37/43761/25." On Thursday, police issued a second statement which said: 'A 21-year-old man was arrested on 18 August on suspicion of assault (GBH). He was subsequently bailed to return to police on 18 November. The investigation continues.' Police policy is neither to confirm nor deny the identity of any individual before the point at which a charge is issued. The Crown Prosecution Service defines GBH as "really serious harm. The harm does not have to be either permanent or dangerous" and, if found guilty, perpetrators can face jail sentences.
