What Happened to Yulissa on 'Love Island USA'? Here's What We Know

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Yulissa Escobar's sudden exit from Love Island USA during the second episode of Season 7 has stirred speculation among fans. The departure, shown without context or explanation, left her co-stars and viewers in the dark. The twist was revealed with show narrator Iain Stirling announcing "Yulissa has left the villa" about 18 minutes into the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Yulissa, who had been coupled up with Ace Greene, was then noticeably absent from the villa. What we know What the show didn't mention—but what fans already knew—was that Yulissa had come under fire online after old podcast clips surfaced revealing a use of racial slurs. In the recordings, which spread across social media as the show launched on Tuesday night, Yulissa can be heard using the N-word multiple times while discussing past relationships, as first reported by TMZ. Newsweek has contacted both Yulissa and Peacock via email for comment. Yulissa Escobar (left) exited "Love Island USA" in the show's second episode of Season 7. Episode 2 delivered on the drama promised in the season premiere, picking up right where host Ariana Madix left viewers hanging—with the introduction of two new Bombshells, Cierra Ortega and Charlie Georgiou. After a round of raised hands from interested Islanders, Cierra and Charlie each selected one contestant for an overnight hideaway date: Nicolas Vansteenberghe and Chelley Bissainthe. Sparks flew, with Nicolas and Cierra sharing a kiss. The villa also saw its first moments of tension. Jeremiah Brown confronted Huda Mustafa over whether she kissed another contestant during a game. After clearing the air in the morning, their relationship appeared back on track. Meanwhile, Taylor Williams and Olandria Carthen navigated a similar hiccup with ease when she admitted to kissing Ace Greene. As the day progressed, the Bombshells made their rounds, getting to know the rest of the cast. Jeremiah stayed loyal to Huda, despite a chat with Cierra, and Belle-A Walker gracefully handled Nicolas breaking the news about his new connection. Ed Sheeran at the top of Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez's wedding guest list

Ed Sheeran is at the top of the guest list for Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez's wedding. The couple got engaged in December after over a year of dating and although they haven't yet set a date for their nuptials, the 37-year-old groom-to-be admitted he's already invited his friend and collaborator, who he has previously worked with on the likes of 'Shape of You', 'Castle on the Hill', and Justin Bieber's 'Love Yourself'. Speaking on the Australian TV show 'Today', Benny said: "I just told him, 'I'm going to have a wedding and you're going to come to the wedding. "Eventually Ed will come to our wedding when we do have one, but unfortunately we have not scheduled one yet - but we will!" After Benny and Selena got engaged, they created songs that eventually ended up on their first joint album, 'I Said I Love You First', which was released in March, but they had never deliberately planned to make such a project together. Speaking about how their LP came to fruition, Benny said: "We just started making music in our house as a little fun activity and then all of a sudden we had one song, then two songs, then three songs, then four songs. "She was just a joy to work with and it was better to work with her than anyone else because, at the end of the day, I get to kiss her too.'" During the recording process, a bird caused Benny and Selena to fight. Speaking to Kent 'Smallzy' Small on the latest episode of the 'Smallzy's Surgery' podcast, he said: "The biggest fight we had making the record is we did it at home, and there were birds that would chirp only when she was recording and never any time else. "And I didn't believe her for the first two weeks." Selena recently revealed she does not like to refer to Benny as her fiance. Appearing with her partner on the 'Table Manners' podcast in April, the 32-year-old singer explained: "[Calling him my fiance is] so strange. "I just say, my partner or Benny. But the other day, I caught myself saying 'Well, my boyfriend ...' but that's not quite why we're there." And after he and Selena shared their first kiss, Benny knew he wanted to "have a baby" with his lover. Appearing on Spotify's 'Countdown To' series in March, he said: "I knew right after we kissed, I was like, 'Oh wow. I'm probably going to marry this person'. "Well, I didn't say marry but I was like, 'I'm probably going to have a baby with this person.' "

New Video of Taylor Swift Singing Turns Heads on Friday

New Video of Taylor Swift Singing Turns Heads on Friday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, have kept a low profile over the past several months. Fans assumed Swift was taking a much-deserved break after performing 149 "Eras Tour" shows across the world. Ever since Super Bowl LIX, Kelce and 14-time Grammy have only been spotted in public a handful of times. While Kelce prepares for this 13th season in the NFL, however, Swift revealed that she was quietly working on getting back ownership of her master recordings from music released between 2006 to 2017. Swift broke five months of social media silence to announce on May 30: "I've been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening. I really get to say these words: All of the music I've ever made... now belongs... to me." "And all my music videos. All the concert films. The album art and photography. The unreleased songs. The memories. The magic. The madness. Every single era. My entire life's work," Swift noted. Billboard reported she bought back ownership of her first six albums from Shamrock Capital, the firm that purchased them from Scooter Braun's Ithaca Holdings in late 2020, for approximately $360 million. Helping celebrate Swift's exciting news on Friday, Jack Antonoff, the singer's longtime friend and music producer, who co-wrote numerous songs featured on "Reputation." With the 2017 album back under Swift's ownership, Antonoff posted a video of Swift (and her cat, Meredith) singing along to "Getaway" on X. He captioned the post, "rep forever guilt free listening!" Because Swift never finished recording "Reputation: Taylor's Version," numerous fans felt guilty listening to the original album. One fan commented, "NEW TAYLOR FOOTAGE, JACK WE LOVE YOU." One Swifite wrote, "THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY 🥹." Another fan posted, "the concept of meredith witnessing swiftie independence day." One X user wrote, "AWWW SHES SO HAPPY." Following Friday's announcement, "Reputation" immediately shot to No. 1 the iTunes music story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on May 31, 2025, where it first appeared.
