Prime Video fans are bingeing 'high stakes' courtroom drama that makes them 'trust no one'
Prime Video fans are binge watching a high stakes court drama that makes them "trust no-one".
Justice on Trial is a gripping new series from judicial icon Judge Judy Sheindlin. Premiering on July 21, fans have already binge watched the show, which sees Judge Judy Sheindlin putting the justice system on trial.
With eight episodes, fans have branded it a must watch for fans of true crime. Judge Sheindlin herself said of the show: "Judges do not make law. They interpret the law. Judges are people. Sometimes they get it wrong. Then what happens?
"When and how long will it take to get it right? I've put justice on trial. I couldn't be more proud of this series. Everybody who watches it will come away a little smarter. Mission accomplished."
The judge will visit one of the most personal and complex cases of her career, a diplomatic immunity battle, as well as recreating the chilling case of Archie Dixon, who confessed to murdering his roommate and burying him alive.
A Prime Video synopsis reads: "Judge Judy Sheindlin puts the American justice system on trial in a true crime high-stakes courtroom drama, as she and her expert legal team recreate the trials from notorious cases where following the letter of the law did not necessarily feel 'just.'
"Season 1 spans from the 1925 Scopes Monkey Trial to a case in which the convicted killer is currently on Death Row."
And the series has been a hit with fans already. One fan wrote: "Justice on trial is really good, this is just the first episode I'm on, very compelling."
Another added: "Check out the show #JusticeOnTrial on @PrimeVideo it's a great show."
While a different viewer commented: "Justice on trial is really good, this is just the first episode I'm on, very compelling."
Elsewhere, another show watcher put: "I enjoyed this show. It is a nice change from civil suits" while a different account put: "This case had my mouth dropping open! We immediately watched the next one!!"

'Spider-man' spotted in Glasgow as area turns into New York
American flags and Manhattan road signs have appeared on Bothwell Street as filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to kick off on August 1 on the city centre road. The film, which features Tom Holland as Peter Parker as well as stars like Zendaya, is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and picks up after the dramatic conclusion of No Way Home, where Peter Parker sacrificed his identity to save those he loves. (Image: Pictures taken by Gordon Terris, Newsquest) (Image: Pictures taken by Gordon Terris, Newsquest) As crews worked to build parts of the set today, Spider-man superfan Andrew MacInnes was seen signing Spider-man merch and posing for our photographer, Gordon Terris. He was in crutches and wearing a Spider-man t-shirt as well as a character mask. Known as 'Glasgow's Spider-man' or 'Daft Spidey', Andrew is well-known within the city for his love of the popular superhero. (Image: Pictures taken by Gordon Terris, Newsquest) When dressed as the Marvel character in 2007, Andrew revealed that he jumped off a shed and fractured both heels. On July 4, 2025, during a joint birthday for his 50th birthday and his son's 15th which was a heroes versus villains theme, Andrew jumped off a chair and broke three bones in his foot while again, dressed as Spider-man. He has even got a Spider-man tattoo and claims to be the only man in the world to break his feet twice as Spider-Man. Glasgow City Council confirmed that traffic diversions will be in place and warned that bus and taxi lanes will also be impacted. Delays and congestion are expected, particularly around key commuter routes. For the safety of pedestrians, a prohibition of pedestrian movements will also be enforced during periods of filming action. A full list of affected roads and restrictions can be found HERE Filming is reportedly set to last around two weeks.

Jenna Ortega says filming Wednesday Season Two in Ireland was 'wonderful'
Jenna Ortega has praised the kindness of the Irish people and the beauty of the landscape after filming the second season of the Netflix hit Wednesday in the country. The 22-year-old American actress, who reprises her role as Wednesday Addams, the morbid, sharp-witted teenager with psychic powers, said she had never visited the island before working on the new season. The new season sees Wednesday return to the halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await. Directed once again by Tim Burton, the latest instalment of the gothic hit welcomes a number of new cast members to the team including Dame Joanna Lumley as Grandmama, Steve Buscemi as Barry Dort, the new principal of Nevermore, and Billie Piper as Isadora Capri, the school's new head of music. While the first season was filmed in Romania, the latest instalment of the popular series was shot in various locations around Wicklow, Dublin and Offaly. 'I'd never been to Ireland and it was wonderful,' said Ortega. 'My favourite thing was just how kind the people are, but also the countryside was really nice. I did my best to see as much of the island as I could while I was there. I went north, south, east, west, I went all over. I'm pretty proud of myself.' According to Tourism Ireland, some of the locations used to shoot the new series include Charleville Castle in Co Offaly, Dean's Grange Cemetery in Co Dublin and Ashford Studios in Co Wicklow. Lumley, 79, said: 'I was pretty thrilled, because having filmed there a few times, in Ardmore studios, I didn't know there was a studio even further south of that, and then to come to Ashford Studios was marvellous. 'There's something in Ireland which is slightly otherworldly and it embraced the whole feeling of Wednesday.' Buscemi, 67, famous for his roles in Reservoir Dogs and The Sopranos, said he enjoyed the Guinness. 'I was surprised at how much Guinness I could actually drink every day, never while shooting,' he joked. 'It was so lovely shooting there. The people are amazing.' Ortega added: 'Everything about Ireland was so beautiful and we had such a hard-working crew, and people who really just gave it their all, and were so skilled. 'But the only real challenge we had was fighting the green. It was so green there and it was so bright for the show. Suddenly the Addams looked alive.' Wednesday season two, which sees Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones continuing to play Morticia Addams, comes out on Netflix on August 6 with a first part and a second part coming on September 3. Created by cartoonist Charles Addams, the macabre family have inspired a 1960s TV show, and 1990s films starring Anjelica Huston and Christina Ricci, who also appeared in Wednesday season one as a teacher.
