Andy Robertson has 'tailor made' transfer after Celtic pitch as £8m Taylor successor blocked and Inamura addressed

The Scotland captain looks to be nearing a Liverpool exit after eight years at Anfield
Andy Robertson should head for Atletico Madrid if he leaves Liverpool this summer despite the prospect of a dream move to Celtic.
The chase by the Premier League champions to sign Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez this summer has plunged the long-term Anfield future of Robertson into doubt.

The 31-year-old has entered the final year of his deal - with Atleti said to have made Robertson their top target this summer.

But the prospect of bringing Robertson to his boyhood club has been pitched by Pat Nevin - if an "affordable" package is agreed - despite the addition of Kieran Tierney potentially hampering a deal.
However, McAvennie reckons playing under Diego Simeone should be the Scotland captain's top option this summer.
He told his Let Me Be Frank podcast: 'If he is going to Simeone and Atlético Madrid. Andy Robertson is a tailor-made player for him.
'He is the kind of player he likes. A bit like Kieran Tierney. Full body goes in. He doesn't hold back from a tackle.
"He's up and down. But he's a good defender – he will be a superstar in Spain if he goes.
'Andy has done brilliantly. He got knocked back from Celtic. He was told that, 'he wasn't good enough.' Went to Queen's Park. He's gone on to be a superstar. Fair play to the boy. He has dug in.

'It's a good example, don't listen to people. It's only one man's opinion.'
However, Robertson has made no secret of the fact he would like to play for Celtic before the end of his career.
He said back in 2020: 'If you asked me now what I would want to do, I would love to retire at Liverpool of course, but you know how hard it is to play at the highest of levels until you're 35, 36. I'd love to pull on the Celtic top and walk out at Parkhead.

'Do I want to go back at one point to even just live? Yeah, maybe.'
The search for a left-back to rival Kieran Tierney is ramping up with Greg Taylor appearing to be heading for the exit door at the end of his contract.
The 27-year-old has yet to decide his future with his Celtic contract rapidly approaching an end and both PAOK and FC Copenhagen chasing his signature.

However, Sport Dog reports that talks with the Greek side have now been "frozen" and appear to have stalled.
Former Hoops star Tosh McKinlay has admitted he hopes to see the defender stick it out and battle with returning Tierney for a starting spot.
Speaking at the Taxi To Troon charity event in Glasgow, he said: "Special mention to Greg, I think he's been fantastic over the years and obviously it's still to be confirmed if he will be staying or going, but it would be great if he stayed and give Kieran some competition for that left back spot.

'He has been fantastic over this period of five or six years, and I'm sure he'll be wanting to stay as well.'
Djurgarden wonderkid Keita Kosugi has been tipped as a potential successor should Taylor depart - and appears to have made his decision on a preferred next move.

The 19-year-old left-back has reportedly had an £8million price tag placed on him by the Swedish side.
Foot 7 Champions League winners sports advisor Luis Campos "accelerating" the process of a move.
One player who looks set to make the switch to Celtic this summer is defender Hayato Inamura.
The 23-year-old, currently at Albirex Niigata, is left-sided and can play both at centre-back and left-back.
And amid heavy speculation that the Hoops could dip into the Japanese market again, an Albirex spokesman told Nikkan Sports an official offer had been received from a European club.
He said: "We are leaving the negotiations to the clubs themselves, so we are not at the stage where we can talk about whether we will go or not."

Callum Osmand Celtic transfer edges closer after sighting

Herald Sport sources understand the Fulham forward has been spotted at Lennoxtown on Thursday, as he finalises his move. The former Wales U17 international is on the cusp of completing his move to the Scottish Premiership champions from the Premier League club. Due to his contract expiring, despite Fulham offering him an extension, Celtic will only have to pay Fulham a development fee, similar to what they did when signing Moussa Dembele from the same club back in 2016. In 22 appearances last season in all competitions for Fulham's U21 side, Osmand made 22 appearances, scoring 11 goals and assisting a further four in all competitions. He will join Kieran Tierney in arriving at Celtic Park from England, with his return from Arsenal officially completed last week. With the transfer of Benjamin Nygren from FC Nordsjaelland seemingly nearing completion, as well as talks with Royal Antwerp's Michel-Ange Balikwisha, the Scottish champions are busy in the early stages of this transfer window.

Derek McInnes sees weakness in Rangers and Hearts boss is thinking something he won't admit out loud

McInnes has the ball rolling at Tynecastle and our man Keith Jackson reckons he has high ambitions Derek McInnes smells blood in Rangers – and is thinking about nothing other than catching them and splitting the Old Firm. That's according to our man Keith Jackson who knows the Hearts boss well and believes that, even if he won't say it out loud, that's what he's thinking. ‌ McInnes has taken the reins at Gorgie and has wasted no time in getting down to business. ‌ Today alone the club have confirmed the signings of Stuart Findlay, Alexandros Kyziridis and Christian Borchgrevink, and they're optimistic about battling back into Europe and reclaiming third spot. But hold your spot? Why not second? Russell Martin is in the door at Rangers and has no shortage of problems on his desk with a threadbare squad and plenty of business left to do. And our man Keith, who knows McInnes personally, believes he'll be fancying his chances of taking the fight to them. He said on tonight's Hotline Live: "He'll have identified the problems Rangers have got right now, and the potential for them to get off to a sluggish, difficult start. All the pressure that's going to come down on Russell Martin. "I'm telling you right now, and I know Derek McInnes well – he won't admit it, but there is no way he is thinking anything other than there's a real chance for Hearts to get into the argument, in between the two of them at the top of the table. ‌ "The one Brendan Rodgers hasn't won during his first stint at Celtic Park, it was Derek McInnes that stopped it by knocking them out of the League Cup at Rugby Park. "He enjoys it. He wants to be involved in it. That's why he's been waiting for this opportunity to get back to a team which will have the level of finance to get involved in a real scrap. ‌ "Not just in a one-off game, because he's proven he can do that. He's looking at this season and going 'there is a real opportunity to lay down a marker.' To get right involved in the thick of it at the top of the table and, yes, potentially to separate Celtic and Rangers by the end of it." Ex-Rangers No2 Alex Rae lands job alongside Celtic star after Ibrox exit and plans to repay 30-year debt to his new club

Three and a half months after leaving Rangers following Philippe Clement's sacking, the hugely experienced coach is excited about working with close pal and new Jags boss Mark Wilson for the first time in football. And he revealed to SunSport that he's had a 'soft spot' for the Jags since past manager Murdo MacLeod, in charge between 1995-97, granted him training facilities at Firhill at a time of need. The 55-year-old said: 'Mark contacted me a few weeks ago and asked me for my thoughts. 'I've known him for the best part of 10, 11 years. We've always had a good relationship and I've got a lot of time for him. 'I like the way he goes about things, he's straight-laced, he does things right. 'We started up a charity team which raised a lot of money and through that we got to know each other a lot better. 'So when he got in touch and asked if I'd like to come on board with him I told Mark I'd be delighted. 'Over the last 19-years since I gave up playing, I've took on a lot of challenges. 'Thistle's the exact same, I'm going to enjoy getting my teeth into it. I'll give it my best shot and we'll see where it takes us. 'Me and Mark haven't worked together at a club before. 'We were obviously together at Radio Clyde for many years. Alex Rae reveals hostile training welcome after flying back late from Rangers v Celtic 'But in terms of the football side, I've been down south doing bits and bobs and had a few jobs up here too. 'I'm very experienced now, it's 19 years since I took my first managerial job at Dundee. 'I've had a great variation of different roles at different levels in different countries. 'Now I go into Thistle and I hope I can help Mark. 'As players, we were both whole-hearted guys. 'What you see with Mark is what you get — he'll put his heart and soul into the job while I'll also give everything I've got. 'Hopefully that transfers through to the players. 'Hopefully, we'll also get a bit of support from everybody else; the backroom staff and obviously the folk above. 'If we get that then we'll have a fighting chance to be competitive on the park. 'It's actually a club I've had a soft spot for a long time. 'When I went to Sunderland I was serving a four-match ban. I needed somewhere to train. 'So I asked my old pal Davie Farrell to ask Murdo MacLeod, the Thistle gaffer at the time, if he'd let me come in for a few training sessions. 'Murdo was kind enough to let me come in and work with the boys. 'I loved Murdo as a player and I've always appreciated his gesture from back then. 'I've got to know him well and he's a lovely man. 'So, it's nice all these years on that I've now got the chance to do my bit for Thistle.' 4 Rae won the title with Rangers in 2005 Credit: News Group Newspapers Ltd Ex-Dundee and St Mirren boss Rae starred in the Premier League with Wolves and won the title with Rangers in 2005. The UEFA pro-licence holder's also coached at MK Dons, Notts County, Blackpool, Genk and Reading. And Rae - also a playing hero at Falkirk, Millwall and Sunderland - added: 'I've only just had one day's training with the players. 'But I'm excited. 'I'm here to support Mark and I've got no qualms about that at all. 'I know the potential of Partick Thistle — and I'd love to enjoy success with Mark here.' Thistle boss Wilson, meanwhile, has signed keeper Lewis Budinauckas on a one year deal with an option of a further 12-months. The 23-year-old played for the Jags eight times last season on loan from Rangers, keeping four clean sheets. Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page
