QPR's Chair 'obsessed' with Premier League aim
Chair is also keen to re-establish himself for Morocco. He was in their 2022 World Cup squad, although he only featured in a third-place play-off against Croatia.Chair has made just one international appearance since then - and last season's injury woes scuppered his hopes of a return to the fold. But he has remained in contact with Morocco boss Walid Regragui and hopes to earn a recall."I definitely want to go back in there," Chair added."It only improves my game - every time I go there, when I come back I feel like I'm a better player because of the players around me. Obviously you learn from them."So I definitely want to get back into that squad. I've had conversations with the manager of Morocco. We're keeping in contact and hopefully I can be back in there."It's just about getting back on the pitch, being healthy and putting some good performances together - some good team performances, because it's all about the team."
Stephan will be the eighth manager Chair has played under at QPR.The Frenchman has an impressive CV, having led his hometown club Rennes to a French Cup triumph in 2019 - their first trophy for 48 years.Rangers have not sustained a promotion challenge since being relegated from the top flight 10 years ago. They are not among the favourites to go up this time around, but will be hoping Stephan can help them beat the odds."He's been great. He has different ideas and I'm listening a lot to him," Chair said."He has this sort of charisma. He has an aura about him, which maybe I haven't experienced with other managers - other managers have had other qualities."He definitely has something special about him, which is very good for us as players."I wish I'd known him longer. I spoke to a couple of players that have played under him and they've been positive about him, and so far so good with us."QPR begin their Championship campaign with a home match against Preston on Saturday.

Ederson approves transfer to new club but Manchester City reject bid
Ederson was left out of Manchester City's Premier League opener against Wolves as he edges closer to a move away from the Etihad Stadium. The Brazilian has been one of the best goalkeepers in the world over the past decade, making 372 appearances for Man City and winning six Premier League titles. Ederson endured an surprisingly poor 2024-25 campaign, however, and was dropped by Pep Guardiola following a difficult run in the team. Clearly concerned by Ederson's form, Guardiola sanctioned Man City's move for their former goalkeeper James Trafford over the summer. The England hopeful, who helped Burnley secure promotion from the Championship last season and amass 100 points, will start at Molineux on Saturday evening for Man City's Premier League opener. National sheepdog champion hopes to defend title in Penrith
A sheepdog trial champion says the skills needed to train the herding dogs are in danger of being Philip Walton and his border collie Scott, from Hethersgill, Cumbria, hope to defend their English championship title at the national sheepdog trials in Penrith this weekend. Farmers have worked with sheepdogs for thousands of years, but Mr Walton said he was anxious about the future. He said it was difficult to get young people involved in sheepdog training, adding: "The dogs are there for the management of the sheep, and if that's lost, it will all be lost, and disappear." Mr Walton said he and Scott were so close he viewed the dog as "part-human". "He can understand what I'm thinking and sometimes he knows more than me." Mr Walton said it had taken hours and hours of work to train Scott over the last seven years, but his collie had now become so good at the job that "he can take the lead". "He's a very willing dog," he said. "He'll go to the end of the earth for me. He has a very great understanding of sheep, how to handle sheep."He explained how the sheep respected his border collie and sheepdogs could not just be "bullies"."Some dogs can upset sheep just going through the gate into the field. And then there's other ones."As well as herding sheep, Scott looks after them. He often finds sheep that have fallen down holes, and those buried deep in the snow. But they are skills Mr Walton fears will be lost, as fewer farmers have the time or need to train up the dogs. He said the skills were disappearing at the same time as there were fewer sheep on the fells, and a lot less collie dogs were wanted to shepherd the sheep. Mr Walton and Scott became English champions at the National Sheepdog Trials last trials, organised by the International Sheep Dog Society, are one of four being held across England, Wales, Ireland and demonstrate their dogs' ability to control sheep in a bid to qualify for the international trials, which will be held near Wrexham in Walton and Scott will learn if they have managed to keep hold of their winning trophy on 17 August.
