Noida: Youths perform stunts on moving cars; Rs 1.21L challan issued after video goes viral
Greater Noida traffic police swiftly responded to a viral video showcasing youths performing dangerous stunts on moving cars. Authorities issued challans totaling ₹1.21 lakh to the vehicle owners for violating multiple sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, including dangerous driving and speeding.
NOIDA: A video of youths performing dangerous stunts on two moving cars in Greater Noida has gone viral on social media, prompting swift action from the traffic police.
The 15-second clip shows one man hanging out of a car window, waving a lathi, while the driver's door remains open.
Another car can be seen speeding in a zigzag manner, with occupants filming reels.
The stunt, widely circulated online, triggered public outrage, with several users calling for strict action. 'Their vehicles should be seized as it is very dangerous,' wrote an X user, Sameer.

Responding to the video, Noida traffic police tracked down the vehicles by scanning their registration numbers and issued challans amounting to Rs 1.21 lakh — Rs 65,500 for one vehicle and Rs 57,500 for the other.
The fines were imposed under multiple sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, including Section 184 (dangerous driving), Section 189 (speeding), Section 179 (disobedience and obstruction), and Section 194B (seatbelt violation).
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Lakhan Singh Yadav said that it is not clear when the incident took place. 'The matter has also been referred to the Knowledge Park police for further action, including the seizure of the vehicles involved,' he said.

Third death reported in Alirajpur after spurious toddy consumption
Indore: The death toll after suspected spurious toddy (homemade liquor) consumption in Patel Faliya village, under the Ambua police station area of Alirajpur district, rose to three. Rakesh Rawat (35) succumbed on Sunday night at 2:30 AM in Vadodara. On June 15 at around 6 PM, a village panchayat convened to resolve a land dispute. Following the meeting, at least 14 persons purchased and consumed toddy from a local vendor named Salim. Soon after, nine people began to fall ill. Across the district, at least 13 cases were registered against 13 persons, and 269 litre illegally collected and sold toddy were seized. Nagpur: On Monday, seed traders from Nagpur and Wardha took to the streets to protest against the massive proliferation of illegal herbicide-tolerant (HT) cotton seeds. A couple of kilometres away, as he attended a seminar in the city, Lalit Bahale, the farmer who was the first to openly grow the banned seeds six years ago, remained defiant. As traders say infiltration of HT seeds is killing their business, Bahale told TOI that he continues to grow the variety. Over the years, he also facilitated scores of farmers across Vidarbha for buying the seeds, said Bahale. In 2019, Bahale sowed the HT seeds at his farm in Akoli Jangir village of Akola district under the aegis of the farmers' outfit Shetkari Sangathana in the presence of media. This was a mark of protest demanding govt clearance for the HT seeds, a genetically engineered variety. Farmers should have access to the latest technology, stressed the Sangathana. Consequently, a number of such agitations were held. Bahale, who was in the city to attend a meeting on climate-resilient farming, said he has faced no action since 2019. Raghuvanshi murder: Property dealer flown back to Shillong
Indore: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) from Shillong Police flew property dealer Shilom James back to Meghalaya on Monday. This occurred a day after a search operation at his father-in-law's residence in Ratlam yielded significant evidence, including jewellery belonging to Sonam and Raja Raghuvanshi, a laptop, a pen drive, and incriminating documents. "The four-member SIT from Shillong police took a flight to Guwahati on Monday to transport Shilom James back to Meghalaya," confirmed Indore Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya. He added that Indore police previously assisted Shillong police in searches, taking statements, and recovering a country-made pistol, two magazines, and ammunition from a nullah behind Industry House in the Old Palasia area about six days prior. At that time, the jewellery, cash, and laptop remained missing. On Sunday, the SIT, led by sub-inspector Anthony Khongsit and Sub-Inspector Karan Pachua, with assistance from officers of the Industrial Area police station in Ratlam, successfully recovered the jewellery belonging to Sonam and Raja Raghuvanshi from James's father-in-law. On Sunday afternoon, they searched the locked house owned by Manoj Gupta, a mutual fund agent and James's father-in-law, which reportedly was locked for the past 10 to 15 days. After the search, the team took James along to Indore, leaving behind his wife and sister-in-law, whom they brought from Indore. The SIT has taken three accused into custody in connection with the case, including the building owner Lokendra Singh Tomar, property dealer Shilom James, and security guard Balveer Ahirwar. All three were transported from Indore to Shillong on Thursday, after securing a six-day remand from the Shillong court. James was subsequently brought back to Indore as part of ongoing investigations and for further evidence recovery before being flown back to Meghalaya on Monday.
