An adorable dog had the best sleep of his life as he settled into life in his forever home.
Jennifer Aguilar, who posts to TikTok under the username @jenniferaguilar4104, showed the difference love can make to a dog's life as she shared a clip of the pup from his first night in his new home.
Posted on August 18, Aguilar introduced the clip by writing: "'Late night finds' but it's just a video of his first night at home after waiting on a forever home all alone in a cage.'"
In the video, set to lullaby-like music, Aguilar showcases her canine's new sleeping arrangement: on a special dog-sized sofa, wrapped in a cozy, blue blanket, a special T-shirt, and even his own plush teddy bear. The Maltipoo pup appears completely relaxed and in a deep sleep, not moving or opening his eyes as his new owner records his first safe sleep. Aguilar wrote in the caption: "Wym [what do you mean] no one picked him."
Maltipoos are a cross breed between a Maltese and toy or miniature poodle, and despite not being recognized by the American Kennel Club, they are popular as family pets.
Adult Maltipoos grow up to 14 inches tall and weigh up to 20 pounds, and are known for their friendly and active nature, according to a vet-reviewed report from PetMD.

TikTok users were in pieces at Aguilar's video, watching it more than 277,000 times. Viewers shared their own stories in the comments, as one wrote: "My baby has the same blanket. It was his first blanket and he still has it."
Another tearful commenter posted that they had "wind in my eye," while a third pointed out: "It's the sleeping on the side for me. That baby feels safe."
"He looks so at peace," one commenter said, as another thanked Aguilar "for giving him a home where he feels safe."
"His first sleep being loved," a third wrote, while a third summed it up: "He was waiting for you."
Across the United States in 2024, 5.8 million dogs and cats entered shelters and rescues. In the same year, 4.2 million shelter animals were adopted, including around 2 million dogs, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

Famous Books Main Characters Quiz — BuzzFeed Quizzes

Hey, fellow readers — welcome to class. Today, we're diving into the topic of protagonists. And yes, I know you probably remember this from English class — but just in case it's been a minute (it definitely has for me), here's a quick refresher: A protagonist is basically the main character of a story. It's the person the plot revolves around. Sometimes it gets a little tricky, like when the protagonist isn't the narrator. For example, in The Great Gatsby, Nick Carraway is telling the story, but the book centers around Jay Gatsby's life. That makes Jay Gatsby the protagonist. So, to make it simple, who is the story about? Who would you call the main character? The character that comes to mind is usually the protagonist. So, speaking of well do you actually know the books 'everyone' has read (or at least watched the movie version of)? Here's how this works: I'll give you the name of a main character, and you'll try to match them to their famous book. Sound good? Let's do this. How'd you do? Drop your score in the comments! And since we're talking about books 'everyone's read,' tell me: What's your hidden gem? That one book that you're distraught that not everyone has read? For me, it's The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller. The poetic prose of this novel is breathtaking, and although it's a drama, it had me on the edge of my seat like a thriller. I've gifted it to almost everyone I know. I'm obsessed. So…what's your Paper Palace book? Tell me in the comments. I also can never shut up about Sylvia Plath. Former AEW World Champion Dealing With Legitimate Injury: Report

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The injury bug has bitten another top star in All Elite Wrestling. A new report has confirmed that former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland is currently working with a legitimate torn meniscus. The injury was acknowledged on this week's episode of AEW Dynamite. According to a new report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, the on-screen injury announcement is based on a real-life issue that Strickland has been dealing with for years. The news comes as Strickland is preparing for a championship match at the upcoming Forbidden Door pay-per-view. The Swerve Strickland Injury On the August 13 episode of AEW Dynamite, it was mentioned on commentary that AEW doctors had seen Swerve Strickland for a knee injury. The Fightful report has now confirmed that Strickland is working with a torn meniscus. The report also notes that this is not a new injury. He has reportedly had a tear in his meniscus since his time training at the WWE Performance Center in 2019. At that time, he rested the injury for four weeks and was able to return to television. It now appears that the grueling in-ring style of the high-flyer has aggravated the old injury. AEW sources also indicated that medical staff from the Jacksonville Jaguars, the NFL team also owned by AEW's Tony Khan, are helping him with his recovery. The report states that there is a possibility he could require surgery and time off in the near future. After a successful run in WWE NXT as the leader of the Hit Row faction, he was released and eventually signed with AEW. His career reached a new level when he formed the Mogul Embassy faction. His intense, personal, and bloody feud with "Hangman" Adam Page was one of the most acclaimed rivalries of 2023. This momentum propelled him to the main event, and at the Dynasty pay-per-view in April 2024, he defeated Samoa Joe to win the AEW World Championship, becoming the first African American man to hold the title. More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match What's Next For Swerve Strickland? Swerve's title reign was a successful one, but it was cut short by an injury to his opponent at the All In pay-per-view in July. He is now looking to get back to the top of the mountain. He is scheduled to challenge Kazuchika Okada for the AEW Unified Championship at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view in London on August 24. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.

TikTok Made Me Do It: Soccer Jersey Outfits To Try Now

European soccer dominated sports bars and Instagram feeds this summer — especially with the Lionesses ' UEFA cup win and women's soccer gaining more global momentum. Add in some major pop culture tie-ins (Ted Lasso' s fourth season announcement focusing on a women's team, and a rumored Bend It Like Beckham sequel), and it's no surprise the soccer aesthetic is hitting harder than ever. Adidas mini track shorts (recently worn by Zoë Kravitz and more fashion It girls) also just landed on Lyst Index's Q2 hottest products list. Plus, cleats (spotted on Rosalía) are popping up as an unexpected streetwear choice, according to Style Analytics. But TikTok has crowned the ultimate summer MVP of the sporty trend: the soccer jersey. I first noticed the look while scrolling on Pinterest and TikTok — girls styling soccer jerseys for more than just game day. Then I started spotting them IRL across NYC, worn to brunch, drinks, and just about everything in between. As someone who grew up watching and playing soccer, the resurgence made me nostalgic and sartorially intrigued. Ahead, see how I styled a few jerseys for everyday settings, from casual errands to the office and even nights out. And no, these jerseys aren't tied to specific teams or players — they're pieces I picked up from my favorite retailers, like Urban Outfitters and Old Navy. Think: less fandom, more athletics-chic.
