Cupra will showcase its future design language with a new concept car at the 2025 Munich motor show.
To be unveiled on 8 September, the show car is expected to focus heavily on the future of Cupra's interior design.
The preview picture released by the brand shows a radical new cabin similar to that of the DarkRebel concept shown in 2023. It includes a yoke-like wheel, chunky central spine similar to the electric Tavascan, and what appear to be racing seats.
The brand said the concept will blend 'human and machine, where the driving experience and emotions reach their fullest expression', emphasising a focus on interior design.
Cupra has revealed little else about the concept, but it is also expected to show the next step in the Spanish firm's exterior design language.
The concept follows a major range-wide redesign last year in which the entire line-up was refreshed to bring parity between the new electric cars and older combustion models. The revamp mainly focused on the front end and included a prominent beak, a broader grille and triangular LED lights
The show car will be revealed alongside a camouflaged production version of the new Raval – Cupra's Volkswagen ID 2 twin. The Raval will arrive in 2026 as the brand's new entry-level model and a rival to the Renault 5. It is expected to be priced at around £25,000.

Exclusive: Tesla IT exec with no traditional car-sales experience is running sales, sources say

July 18 (Reuters) - A relatively little-known information technology executive is running Tesla's (TSLA.O), opens new tab sales team as the electric carmaker grapples with a sales freefall, according to people familiar with the matter. Raj Jegannathan, a senior executive with a wide purview including several IT and data functions, recently took over the sales role, said the people familiar with the matter. Some inside Tesla have interpreted this to mean that Jegannathan has assumed the role of Troy Jones, Tesla's top sales executive in North America until he departed earlier this month after 15 years with the company, said the people. Jegannathan, who has recently grown closer to CEO Elon Musk, has no traditional sales experience, according to two people familiar with the matter and his LinkedIn profile. Reuters could not determine if it is an interim role. Demand for Tesla's cars in Europe and North America has dropped sharply. Last quarter, its quarterly sales plunged 13% to the weakest in nearly three years, due to a backlash to Musk's politics, Tesla's aging vehicle lineup and increased competition from rivals offering more affordable alternatives. Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Jones, the latest in a string of high-level departures, managed the fallout as Musk's political affiliation with U.S. President Trump prompted left-leaning consumers to shun Tesla. As Tesla's sales were dropping earlier this year, Jones implored managers to work on selling and pushed back against concerns over political headwinds related to Musk, according to a person who heard the comment. Other key figures who recently left include Musk's confidant Omead Afshar, opens new tab, who was in charge of sales and manufacturing operations in North America and Europe. Jegannathan's expanded role has been interpreted as taking over Afshar's responsibilities as well, some of the people said. Milan Kovac, the head of Tesla's Optimus humanoid robot team, announced he was leaving in June. Other recent departures include top battery executive Vineet Mehta and software chief David Lau. Last year, Tesla faced a wave of high-level departures, including chief battery engineer Drew Baglino and global public policy head Rohan Patel. Jegannathan has spent 13 years at Tesla in technology roles. He joined in 2012 as a senior staff engineer, with responsibilities for internet traffic and cloud security, according to his LinkedIn page. More recently, he has helped develop Tesla's data center effort in Texas, two people familiar with the matter said. His duties have expanded rapidly. Earlier this year, he became a vice president for IT/AI infrastructure, apps and information security, according to his LinkedIn page. In recent months, he has taken over Tesla's vehicle-service operations, according to a person familiar with the matter and Jegannathan's comments on X. Jegannathan was among the Tesla employees seconded to Twitter after Musk's takeover of the company in 2022, according to a person familiar with the matter and a media report.

Eco-mental Labour must've let Diane Abbott do maths on EV plan – it'll cost BILLIONS while families struggle to buy food

IN A desperate bid to make Britain full of light breezes and scented pine freshness, the Government has announced that if you buy an electrical car, they will give you a chunky £3,750. But not if you buy a Tesla. 10 Why? Ah well, that's simple. The Labourites want to be fully eco-mental of course, but not if it means putting money into the pocket of Elon Musk. Because he's the anti-Christ. He helped put Donald Trump in the White House. He made a Nazi salute. So yes, they want to be green but not if it means helping that far-right bastard. The £3,750 grant is only available if you buy an electrical car that costs less than £37,000. Teslas start at £39,000. If you buy one of those, you're on your own sunshine. There is, however, more to this story than meets the eye. We are told that the cost of this scheme is going to be £650million. But who did the maths? Diane Abbott? Because they don't make sense – £650million is only enough to pay the grants for 173,333 cars. And that's about half the number of EVs sold in the UK last year. The Government must know this. They have access to Google, and they have calculators on their phones. So they must know that if this scheme runs for a while, it'll end up costing billions. And how can they justify that? How can they say they have no money to mend potholes or repair schools or keep the Navy going? But they do have enough to help someone buy some electrical crap from China. Staggering drone vid shows vast Chinese EV mega factory bigger than a CITY with its own football stadium Don't they see what they're doing? They're actually paying us to send our money to Beijing. It gets worse. They are prepared to subsidise people who want to move around but as we have seen in the last year, they are absolutely not prepared to subsidise the food you eat. There is no government money for farmers. All of the grants and the subsidies that were introduced back in the last century to make sure that even the poorest people in society could afford to feed their families are systematically being taken away. Rachel Reeves tells us she has to do this because the coffers are empty. And yet there are billions on offer for people who need transport so they can pick up their benefits more easily. ARMY PROBE NOT ON THERE'S a lot to be depressed about at the moment, but I think the thing that's getting me down most of all is the plan to investigate former soldiers who served in Northern Ireland to see if they shot someone that perhaps they shouldn't. There is to be no investigation into the yobboes who were throwing petrol bombs at them or blowing up buildings in the UK. The thugs who shot Private Tony Harrison, a paratrooper from London five times in the back in 1991 while watching television with his girlfriend. No one will be bringing them to trial. The British government is only interested in chasing British soldiers. We're told by Starmer 's Stasi army of human rights lawyers that the chance of a conviction is very small. But very small isn't the same thing as 'impossible' is it. So imagine. You're a former soldier. You've now retired and are spending your old age, tending to your roses and reflecting on a life well led. A life where you were prepared to sacrifice yourself for the good of the country and the people in it. And now you've been told that a secret army of lefties is going to be looking into your activities from when you were in your twenties and that if anything untoward comes to light, you'll have to go to prison. It sickens me. I'm not sure our court system is working very well at the moment. 10 Because if you cut down a tree and in so doing slightly damage a wall, you get four years plus change. But if you stagger out of a Wetherspoons pub and punch a policemanwoman in the face, you get fined £160. JOHN'S AXING A PUZZLE FUNNY isn't it how Top Gear was always seen as the bad boy of the BBC. Every week, we'd be in the papers for doing something wrong or saying something inappropriate. And as a result, we were always being carpeted by bosses who told us to sit up straight and clean our teeth and behave ourselves. Ha. It now turns out that compared to every other show on the Beeb, we were saints. But that said, I am a bit worried about this John Torode chap from MasterChef. Because he seems to have been sacked for an offence even though no one can quite say what the offence was. He's been told that at a private party seven or eight years ago, he sang a song which someone thought was racist and that as a result, he has to go. Who reported him? Dunno. Was there any context? No one's saying. BOTTLE JOB ON 'MILK' BOFFINS advising the Government have announced that there's a problem with vegan milk. Well yes. It's not milk. But there's more to it than that. They say it must be stuffed full of chemicals if it's going to be good for us. And that soya milk is potentially harmful – they warn it may give young children something called Kawasaki Disease which will crack their lips and give them a fever. So what will our vegetarian leader do about this do we think? Reverse his thinking and on the way home tonight, stop off for a Big Mac and a shake? Doubt it. I suspect he'll throw the report in the bin, and immediately import another avocado from Ecuador. IT'S ALL A BIT LIKE 1976 . . . WITH NO ESCAPE FROM REALITY 10 10 BACK in 1976, there was such a long spell of hot, dry weather that hosepipe bans became necessary. And there was a Labour government in power who were busy making a complete mess of everything. The economy was tanking. Strikes were rife. And the Prime Minister was claiming that he'd inherited all the problems from the Tories. Meanwhile, there were calls for the party to lurch to the left and in the middle of it all, the country had to go to the International Monetary Fund and take out what at the time was the biggest loan the world had ever seen. We were called, with good reason, the sick man of Europe. And now let's spool forward to 2025. The year so far as been so hot and dry that a hosepipe ban is in force across large parts of the country. And there's a Labour government in power that's tanking the economy and blaming the mess it's making on the Tories. Many are saying we are the sick man of Europe, and that soon we will have to go cap in hand to the IMF. The only difference between then and now is that then, we had some decent music to entertain us. Bohemian Rhapsody for example. And we were all eventually rescued by Mrs Thatcher, who told us we had to take our medicine and turned us into an economic powerhouse. Today, we have Pink Pony Club and a promise that in the next election, a bunch of people who aren't old enough to drink in a pub and get all their information from TikTok will be allowed to vote in the General Election. Which virtually guarantees the nightmare is here to stay.

View post: Walmart is selling a $130 jump starter box for just $39, and shoppers say it's 'outstanding and powerful' The Porsche Macan has officially become the fastest-selling model in the brand's history, surpassing one million units in just 12 years. It's not just a milestone — it's a turning point, and Porsche knows it. Built in Leipzig since 2013, the Macan has quietly gone from junior SUV to brand cornerstone, with the one-millionth unit, a Frozen Blue Metallic Macan 4, rolling off the line last week and handed over in person at the Porsche Experience Center. While it took the Cayenne 18 years and the 911 more than half a century to reach this point, the Macan has done it in barely over a decade — and it's doing so while morphing into Porsche's electric future. 0:05 / 0:09 What is the Sony Honda Mobility Afeela 1? Watch More 1 / 4 Zoom In Launch Gallery A Factory Rebuilt Around One Car When the Macan was first approved for production in 2011, the Leipzig facility was still just an assembly outpost. Porsche quickly turned it into a full factory with body and paint shops, adding 1,500 new jobs in the process. More than a decade later, the same site is now churning out petrol, hybrid, and fully electric Macans on a single flexible production line. It's won awards like the Lean and Green Management Award in 2021 and Factory of the Year in 2023, and the plant is once again expanding — adding an axle shop and a second body line to support increasing EV production. The millionth unit? A fully electric Macan 4 with 408 hp and a range of 612 km. It'll hit 0–62 mph in 5.2 seconds, thanks to a 100 kWh battery pack and 800-volt architecture that allows a 10–80% DC fast charge in just 21 minutes. 1 / 2 Zoom In Launch Gallery The Rise Of The Electric Macan It's no coincidence that the Macan hit this milestone just as its second generation — now fully electric — is hitting its stride. Porsche CEO Oliver Blume has already called the EV's launch 'particularly gratifying,' and the model is reportedly a hit in the U.S. despite the brand keeping specific figures quiet. It's also one of the few new Porsche EVs that hasn't faced sluggish demand in recent months. And this is far from a stripped-back compliance car. The Macan 4 and Turbo EV variants are designed to compete — and dominate — both on the road and at the track. The company just set fresh lap records at Road Atlanta with the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid and Cayenne Turbo GT, reminding everyone that Porsche's electrified offerings can still go toe to toe with the best. 1 / 3 Zoom In Launch Gallery Digital Future Meets Million-Milestone Legacy Part of the Macan's success lies in how it bridges Porsche's history with its tech-forward future. The new EV comes with the brand's latest infotainment technology, which brings it in line with rivals like Tesla and BMW. It's a far cry from the clunky systems found in older 911s and Caymans, and a key piece in Porsche's larger shift toward a more connected, electric product lineup. The milestone model was delivered to its new owner, 62-year-old entrepreneur Stefan Schmidt, who collected it directly from the Leipzig plant. His handover included a session on Porsche's on-site racetrack — a nod to the Macan's performance DNA and the brand's tradition of blending practicality with driver engagement. For Porsche, this isn't just a big number. It's confirmation that the Macan is no longer the 'baby SUV' in the lineup. It's the backbone — combustion or not.
