Police searching for suspect after squad car sideswiped in Wisconsin hit-and-run
GREENDALE, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in southeast Wisconsin are searching for a suspect involved in a hit-and-run after allegedly sideswiping a squad car on Tuesday night.
According to the Greendale Police Department, shortly before 10:30 p.m., one of the squad cars, while on a traffic stop on W. Loomis Rd., south of W. Grange Ave., was sideswiped by a dark-colored, full-sized pickup truck.

The vehicle did not stop and continued north on Loomis Rd. The officer and the person seated in the rear seat of the squad car were uninjured.
The vehicle was unable to be located, but further analysis on Wednesday shows that it is possibly a 2022-2024 gray Toyota Tundra or Tacoma. It is also possible that, until repaired, the glass of the passenger side mirror may still be present, but the plastic housing of the mirror itself will be missing.

This incident highlights the importance of approaching stopped emergency vehicles with caution. State law dictates that when passing emergency vehicles with their lights activated, motorists must either move over or slow down.
