Heavy rain halts play at US Open with overnight leader Sam Burns still ahead
Overnight leader Sam Burns had a one-shot advantage over playing partner Adam Scott after both men endured a difficult opening seven holes.

Burns dropped two shots to sit at two under while Scott fell to one under as both men struggled to get to grips with the course.
England's Tyrrell Hatton moved into joint third after overcoming a difficult start to maintain his overnight position of one over, though he was in trouble on the ninth hole when the heavens opened.
Robert MacIntyre, from Oban in Scotland, also bounced back from two bogeys in the first three holes to move up to seventh on the leaderboard.
His eagle at the par-five fourth hole turned the tide, and a birdie at the ninth sent him back to his overnight score of three over, five behind Burns.
It was a horrible start for JJ Spaun, who came into the day one shot behind Burns, but his chances quickly disintegrated.

After bogeying the first, he looked to be putting it right at the second as he sent an approach shot from 94 yards that was so accurate it hit the flag before rolling all the way back down the hill, finishing just 40 yards further forward than his previous shot.
He ended up with a bogey and dropped further shots at the third, fifth and sixth holes as his chances went up in smoke.
Spaniard Jon Rahm was the clubhouse leader when play was suspended.
The 2021 champion has had his problems with the Oakmont course this week, but was in a forgiving mood after he shot a three-under-par 67, the joint best day of the round with Rory McIlroy.
Rahm birdied the final three holes to sit on four under in eight position, now able to sit back and watch as the leaders battle it out in wet conditions when play resumes.
He said: 'It's crazy because it doesn't feel like I played that different to every other round.

'Two keys: number one would be I kept it in play off the tee. I'm trying to go through the round. For the most part, I was in the fairway or the first cut most of the entire day.
'Then my lag putting. I had the speed really dialed in today. I felt like I was very comfortable, if you can be at Oakmont, with speeds, and it showed.
'Every long putt I had was nothing but a kick-in and didn't have to stress for it. That helps a lot.'
McIlroy at least went out on a high with his best round of the week, going some way to exorcising the demons of an Oakmont course that had tortured him for the first three days.
The 36-year-old played his best golf of the week, with the sort of accuracy and guile that he would have longed for on Thursday and Friday, carding a three-under-par 67 to finish on seven over.

The Red Devils want at least £50m for the 21-year-old winger. It's understood that Garnacho only wants Chelsea, which is the main reason why he is still at Carrington nearly three months after boss Ruben Amorim told him to find a new club. The relationship between the two sides has completely broken down and on Sunday a mural of Garnacho close to Old Trafford was defaced by fans. Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz could be forced to pull out of US Open mixed doubles
The US Open Mixed Doubles will begin on Tuesday, with Emma Raducanu teaming up with Carlos Alcaraz in New York, but the Spaniard's tight schedule could be an issue Emma Raducanu has been drawn to play against Jack Draper in the US Open mixed doubles, but there are fears her partnership with Carlos Alcaraz may not happen. Fans were delighted to hear that Raducanu and Alcaraz were teaming up to play in the new format in New York. The United States Tennis Association are holding the doubles in the week before the singles and offering a $1million (£750,000) prize in an attempt to tempt the biggest stars to play. But in an ironic twist of fate, the altered schedule that attracted some exciting partnerships could now scupper their involvement. That's because Alcaraz is about to face Jannik Sinner in the final of the Cincinnati Open and faces a tight turnaround. The Cincinnati Open has been extended beyond the usual Sunday night finish, with the two biggest stars in men's tennis set to face each other on Monday night instead. With Alcaraz and Sinner having a history of playing epic matches, there is a chance the Spaniard may have to bail on Raducanu. The flight between Cincinnati, in Ohio, and New York is around two hours and the mixed doubles are due to start at 11am local time on Tuesday morning. The two-day event will then see the semi-finals and final take place on Wednesday. The draw was officially released on Sunday night, with Alcaraz and Raducanu still listed. They are scheduled to play Draper and Jessica Pegula in a blockbuster first round match after their original partners, Tommy Paul and Paula Badosa, both withdrew. Meanwhile, Sinner and Katerina Siniakova - who replaced Emma Navarro - are supposed to face Belinda Bencic and Alexander Zverev. It remains to be seen whether those matches take place. Alcaraz skipped the Canadian Open to manage a niggle following his defeat in the final at Wimbledon and may decide to prioritise rest and recovery ahead of the US Open singles. It would be a shame if Raducanu and Alcaraz did not play alongside each other, having both spoken of their excitement at the pairing while at Wimbledon. 'She's going to be the boss,' Alcaraz said. 'The US Open came to us and gave us the opportunity to play mixed doubles. I'm super excited about it, it's going to be great, it was an amazing idea from the tournament. "I've known Emma since a long time ago – I have a really good relationship with her so it's going to be interesting. We are going to enjoy [it] for sure, I'll try to put my doubles skills on and we'll try to win.'
