'Suicide Squad' Stars Reunite for Incredible Action Buddy Comedy

Yahoo24-04-2025

Two of the world's coolest men—Idris Elba and John Cena— are reuniting in a brand-new action comedy that looks like a mash-up of Air Force One and Lethal Weapon. Cena plays the President of the United States, who is also a former cocky action movie star, while Elba is the slightly less braggadocios UK Prime Minister.
When they're forced to take a joint trip together on Air Force One, the plane goes down, and it looks like things get nuts from there. Amazon just dropped the new trailer for the movie, which you can watch below.
Cena and Elba previously starred together in the 2021 James Gunn film The Suicide Squad, playing Peacemaker and Bloodsport, respectively.
In Heads of State, the pair will be directed by Ilya Naishuller, according to Deadline. This is the same filmmaker who successfully turned Bob Odenkirk into an action star in the awesome flick, Nobody.
Also per Deadline, here's the official premise of the movie:
"When the duo become the targets of a powerful and ruthless foreign adversary, who proves more than a match for the two leaders' security forces, they are begrudgingly forced to rely on the only two people they can trust: each other."
The movie will also star Priyanka Chopra Jonas as an MI6 agent who assists the bewildered world leaders. Jack Quaid, of The Boys fame, is also in the cast, seemingly playing a gun-totting baddie.
With Cena and Elba back together, and with a good mix of humor and action, Heads of State looks like one of those movies we didn't know we wanted, but we're very glad is coming.

Trump Launches Signup Website For $5M ‘Trump Card' Visas

President Donald Trump on Wednesday night announced the $5 million Gold Card visa is now open for signups, allowing wealthy foreign nationals to register their interest in the program, which intends to offer them a fast track to U.S. citizenship—something the president has suggested may replace the existing investor visa program. US President Donald Trump holds the $5 million dollar Gold Card as he speaks to reporters while in ... More flight on board Air Force One, en route to Miami, Florida in April. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump shared a link to the website—which refers to the visa as 'The Trump Card.' In his post, Trump claimed, 'Thousands have been calling and asking how they can sign up,' for the program and noted, 'THE WAITING LIST IS NOW OPEN.' The website itself is thin on information, with no dates mentioned for when the so-called 'Trump Card' will be available other than a mention that it 'is coming.' The signup form on the website asks people to share their names, the region of the world they are from, if they are a business or an individual, and if they are signing up for themselves or someone else. According to the site, people who sign up will be 'notified the moment access opens' for the visa. The site also includes an image of the 'Trump Card,' featuring a photo and signature of the president—a version of which he showed reporters aboard Air Force One back in April. Trump first announced the gold card in February and he said it would grant recipients the same privileges as green card holders, who have permanent residency in the U.S. Trump argued the card was a way to get 'wealthy people' to invest in the U.S. by 'spending a lot of money, paying a lot of taxes and employing a lot of people.' Trump has claimed he does not need Congressional approval to launch the program, arguing that its beneficiaries are only offered a quicker path to citizenship rather than outright buying citizenship. At the time of the announcement, the president suggested that the gold card program could be rolled out within two weeks. But since then, details about a timeline have been scant. Last month, billionaire Elon Musk, who at the time was heading the Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency, tweeted that the government was 'doing a quiet trial' of the program, 'to make sure the system works properly.' Musk added: 'Once it is fully tested, it will be rolled out to the public with an announcement by the President.' But it is unclear what this supposed trial entailed. The Wired also reported last month that some 'U.S. permanent residents and foreign visitors' signing up for the Customs and Border Patrol's 'Global Entry' trusted traveller program were being asked if they had applied for the 'Trump Card Visa.' The new Trump Card website makes no mention of a launch date.

Amazon impacts Baton Rouge economy; pushes businesses to grow

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Amazon is fast-tracking its economic development with new jobs and training. 'Our starting wage in our facility in Baton Rouge ranges from $17.50 an hour to a little bit above that, especially for our team members who are coming on a night shift or weekend shift,' said Regional Leader and Senior Economic Development Manager at Amazon, Jessica Breaux. 'The really cool thing I think is they get benefits on their very first day in employment.' It's one of the biggest names in global commerce, but in Baton Rouge, Amazon is building more than just distribution centers. President of the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge, Gregory Wood, said it's building a support system for businesses to grow. 'BTR1 was the location of the old Cortana Mall, and during that time, that particular area was seeing some decline in business licenses and other businesses supporting the surrounding area,' said Wood. Although there are a lot of great businesses in the Baton Rouge area, Wood believes other businesses should take note of what Amazon is doing for their employees. 'I think what people need to understand, and look at, is what Amazon is offering their employees, and I think existing businesses need to take note of what Amazon is doing to lure employees into their workforce as well,' said Wood. Trump unveils website for $5 million US residency visa

President Donald Trump touted a new website for his planned $5 million US residency permit on Wednesday, saying the waiting list for the golden visa has opened on "Thousands have been calling and asking how they can sign up to ride a beautiful road in gaining access to the Greatest Country and Market anywhere in the World," Trump wrote in a social media post. Trump unveiled the first such visa aboard Air Force One in April, holding a golden prototype that bore his face and promising the special permit would probably be available "in less than two weeks." The visas are not available yet, but the website announced Wednesday allows interested parties to submit their name, desired visa and email address under a header that says "The Trump Card is Coming." Trump previously said the new visa, a high-price version of the traditional green card, would bring in job creators and could be used to reduce the US national deficit. The announcement comes as deportation raids are being ramped up across the country, prompting protests, and as Trump's administration faces ongoing lawsuits and accusations of rights violations over its anti-immigration blitz. Trump has said the new card would be a route to highly prized US citizenship. He said in February that his administration hoped to sell "maybe a million" of the cards and did not rule out that Russian oligarchs may be eligible. sla/des
