Tanya Bardsley horrified as '20-year-old filler scraped out' during face lift
Tanya Bardsley had 20 year old filler scraped out from her face during a surgical procedure. The former model and reality star has never shied away from discussing her surgical enhancements and believes people in the public eye should be more open about work they've had done.
Last year, Tanya had a mid-face lift after noticing her "jowls just dropped" while dealing with perimenopause symptoms and had initially planned to have a full facelift. But her surgeon warned her against this and stated she only needed minor work done. In the past, Tanya, 44, has had filler injected into her face, but had no idea that it lay dormant in the areas it was injected.
"I started looking like a bulldog," she said of her face before going under the knife. Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, Tanya added: "I just thought 'I'm not having this anymore, I feel terrible and I can't control it, but I can control these chops' I'd heard great things about Mr Rao – I didn't have the full face lift.
"I went in saying I wanted the full and he said I needed the mid. There's only so much filler, I was starting to look a bit Hey Arnold-y, so he did the mid facelift and he just sewed muscles back to where they were, so I had actual cheekbones and not just filler ones.
"He was dragging out 20-year-old filler, scraping it out which was amazing. It's just like starting again – you can't keep pumping it full of filler and Mr Rao is just amazing, he did all these pre-videos and everything. I was deciding for a good year because I'm impulsive. I have to tell myself I need to wait a year now."
Mr Rao at Pall Mall Medical, where Tanya had her procedure, informed her afterwards that her two-decade-old filler was "like concrete". Speaking of her perimenopausal symptoms, Tanya explained: "The skin changes, everything drops, your soul drops, your personality drops, and the jowls drop.
"I was trying to control the others with hormones and stuff, but I could control lifting the face a little bit, which did lift my spirits." The model admits she was "over the moon" with the results after the treatment from Pall Mal. "You have to have your expectations, which Pall Mall are really good at."
Her daughter, Gabriella, 23, had also visited Pall Mall for a breast lift but decided against it after being told the "realistic" options for the procedure. "The surgeon talked her out of it," Tanya said, adding: "Her expectations could never be achieved without certain scars."
But with the rise of more people going under the knife, Tanya said: "If I want it, I'm going to have it, and if someone doesn't want it, that's fine, it's up to them. I think women should support women. I'm always 100 per cent open about everything that I have done. I'm not a gatekeeper, and I don't want girls thinking, 'Why's her face like that and mine's not?' I want to be open – I've had it lifted and a bit chopped off."
Away from surgery, despite appearing on The Real Housewives of Cheshire, Tanya and her family recently starred in their own ITV reality show, The Bardo Bunch, which has been commissioned by Hayu to be streamed across the globe. "I'm so grateful," she said of the news.
She added: "I did a happy dance. It's just gone down a storm, I was panicking, I knew everyone would love my family as much as I do but I thought 'What if everyone hates it? What if everyone hates my family? What if everyone hates me?' Then I thought 'Are my kids going to hate me? Are they gonna get trolled?' but everyone loves it.
"Every single comment, I've not had one bad comment. I can't even tell you what it means to me and the family." Although it's on the same platform as The Kardashians, Tanya admits her family are quite different to the Los Angeles natives. Her husband, Macclesfield FC assistant manager Phil Bardsley, would "never" film with Tanya on Housewives.
"It took a long time to get him on it, and he still cringes when he watches himself. I think he's really good," she said, adding that Phil became more relaxed during filming. "I think there's plenty more for Phil to come."

Dermot O'Leary and Jimmy Carr shows get update over fears they've been 'shelved'
UKTV has shared an update on two of its shows following speculation amid the Edinburgh TV Festival this week that they aren't expected to be renewed for a second series An update has been given on two game shows amid speculation that they aren't due to return. One, hosted by Dermot O'Leary, launched just months ago, whilst the other, fronted by Jimmy Carr, debuted with its first series last year. It's been suggested that Silence is Golden and Battle in the Box aren't expected to return on UKTV. It comes amid this year's Edinburgh TV Festival, which opened yesterday, with the broadcaster among those taking part. Silence is Golden launched in May. Hosted by Dermot, the six part series saw a studio audience tasked with not making any noise in a bid to split £250,000 between them. Battle in the Box, hosted by Jimmy, debuted last year. Over eight episodes, viewers saw pairs of celebrities "battle it out" in a box. Amid speculation that both shows aren't likely to be renewed, UKTV has provided an update. A spokesperson to the Mirror this evening that "no decisions" have been made on either Silence is Golden or Battle in the Box yet. The update comes after it was reported that UKTV executives spoke about both shows at the Edinburgh TV Festival this week. The broadcaster was the subject of a panel discussion at the annual festival in Scotland this morning. According to the Sun, executives teased that they are looking elsewhere for content. They said: "[They are] both fantastic shows and maybe in another universe we might be keeping both of those shows at the moment landing shows at that budget and scale that's not where our heads are at. "We are really looking to try and do something different so we can bring it back in volume. They are great producers and we have absolutely work loved working with both of them." Silence is Golden, which launched in May, saw the studio audience, who all had microphones on, given £250,000 to split between them. They were tasked with not making any noise in order to ensure the prize fund didn't reduce. Katherine Ryan, Seann Walsh and Fatiha El-Ghorri were the team captains, who, along with special guests, were pitted against the audience. They were tasked with making them react to situations in the hope of lowering the prize fund. Every sound from the audience brought the total prize money down. If the entertainers in each episode managed to get it to reach zero through various activities on stage, they would be able to give the prize money to charity. Battle in the Box, which premiered in July last year, was described as an "outlandish game show" involving pairs of celebrities who were stuck inside a box. Each pair competed again another in a series of challenges on the show. It was teased prior to its release that they would "battle it out for pride, prizes, and floorspace while living in a box". Partnerships in the first series included Jamie Laing and Nabil Abdulrashid, as well as Ellie Taylor and Jessica Knappett. A source previously told the Sun that Battle in the Box wasn't expected to return for a second series at least at the moment. The source told the outlet earlier this year: "[It] is being rested and no more series are planned for now."

Love Is Blind UK Katisha's shock note and what it said as star storms off show
Love Is Blind UK's next batch of episodes have dropped showing the five new couples navigating their lives together *Warning: Contains spoilers for Love Is Blind UK Season 2* A Love Is Blind UK contestant has dramatically quit the programme after leaving a shocking message for her fiancé in a surprising turn of events. Love Is Blind UK season 2 witnessed the latest batch of episodes drop today (August 20) as the five fresh couples work through their new relationships together. Following extensive dating in the pods, the selected pairs chose to advance their romance to the next level and get engaged whilst planning their nuptials. However, pressure mounts for the couples as they encounter obstacles in their partnerships, reports the Mirror. This week, one participant has dramatically left the programme, leaving a single message for their other half. Devastating moments showed Scottish native Katisha and Javen battling with their communication, which followed Katisha's last minute choice to pick Javen, despite confessing a deeper bond with Demola in the pods. Yet Katisha broke down in tears on the programme following Javen's surprising choice this week. Previous moments featured a get-together with the couples and fellow cast members, before Javen seemed to be getting friendlier with singletons Sophie, Yolanda and Aanu. Javen chose to head back out with the group and left Katisha on her own at their accommodation. Subsequent scenes showed Megan confessing to Katisha that Javen had actually spent the majority of the night with the other three women, which left Katisha far from pleased. Megan revealed to Katisha: "I'm not going to lie, he went straight to Sophie. "He was chatting to Sophie a lot and then I watched them get into a photo booth..... I didn't see any photo." She continued: "It was the weirdest thing, he just kept laughing. He was just being like yeah, nothing, nothing. After that he moved on started talking to Yolanda, eventually started talking to Aanu." However, when Katisha confronted Javen, a row quickly erupted as she declared she was "going home." Left disappointed by his behaviour, Katisha was later overheard saying: "I have no desire to speak to Javen again, I've been in relationships like this before and I've trusted them and I've taken them back again and again and again. I didn't come here to make the same mistakes." Before departing the programme, Katisha penned a farewell note to Javen, placing it beside her engagement ring on the table for him to discover upon his return. The note read: "I truly wanted this to work, we are obviously more than our mistakes but I can't marry potential. I'm sorry, all the best Katisha." Upon discovering the message, Javen confronted Megan, demanding to know what had been said to Katisha before branding it "lies" as a heated row erupted. What lies ahead for Love Is Blind UK? Viewers must wait until August 27 when the concluding two episodes air.
