The new Superman has to save the world all on his own.
In a red carpet interview with Heart at the London premiere of James Gunn's 'Superman,' star David Corenswet discussed asking for advice from Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin, who both played the DC icon in 'Man of Steel' and 'Superman & Lois,' respectively. Although they were 'encouraging' to Corenswet, they didn't want to influence his performance.

'Both of them, interestingly, sort of said in their own words, 'I'm not gonna try and give you any tips,'' Corenswet explained. 'And I think that's a very Superman thing. Superman's not so much for giving advice or dictating how other people should be.'
He continued, 'They really just conveyed to me an encouragement and a sense of 'have fun with it', which I think is Superman's way of doing it too. They were very encouraging and we had a lovely experience. I'm excited to meet them one day. It'll be great when we can all get in a room together.'
Joining Corenswet in 'Superman,' which releases July 11, are Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl.
On the heels of 'Superman,' Gunn teased who he imagines leading another project that is 'being written right now': a Wonder Woman feature film. He suggested 'Hit Man' star Adria Arjona was one of his top picks for the titular role.
'I follow Adria on Instagram, but everybody came out [and thought], 'He just followed her, that means she's Wonder Woman,'' Gunn said. 'She'd be a great Wonder Woman, by the way.'

Rachel Brosnahan 'feels the closet' to Lois Lane

Rachel Brosnahan sees similarities between herself and Lois Lane. The 34-year-old actress plays Lois in the new Superman movie, and Rachel admits that she's like her on-screen character in many ways. The Hollywood star told The Washington Post newspaper: "The scariest part about this project is that she feels the closest to myself I've ever played. "Not in all the ways. I hesitate to say that, because I feel like that's so easily taken out of context." Rachel has actually found herself feeling "a little intimidated" by the similarities. The actress observed that Lois "prides herself on being ten steps ahead of everyone else". Rachel - who stars in the new movie alongside David Corenswet, who plays Superman - explained: "When something like the deep love that she has for Superman comes in and knocks her off her feet, she can't figure out how to logic her way around it." Rachel admits that she feels "a need to be perfect". She said: "I understand the instinct to try to look around every corner. For me, that's always been more about feeling a need to be perfect — to be overprepared, so you don't make mistakes. "It's one of the things that I love about acting: It forces you to upend that every day." Meanwhile, Rachel recently slammed actors who "complain" about superhero movies. The film star blasted actors and actresses who choose to appear in a superhero movie, and then rubbish the genre at a later date. Speaking to Amanda Seyfried for Interview magazine, Rachel explained: "I don't know why people say yes only to then turn around and complain about it. "Look, I don't want to s*** on other actors, but there was a minute where it was cool to not like superhero movies and to look back on projects like this and pooh-pooh them. Do it or don't do it, and then stand by it." Rachel feels particularly proud of the new Superman movie. The film star explained: "The cool thing about it is that it's what you expect, and then there's more. Of course, there's great fighting and stunts and big monsters and good and evil."

Toyota Features Its Electric Car In Superman Movie

Read the full story on Backfire News As excitement builds for the release of the new Superman movie, Toyota is using the film to promote its electric car. That might sound ridiculous, and in a way it is, but it's also an established industry marketing technique. We do question just how effective it vehicle in question is the Toyota bZ, which used to be the bZX4. If you still don't know what that is, you're not even close to alone. That might be why Toyota is putting the thing in a movie, because most people don't even know it exists. But the bZ doesn't look sexy, not even a little. We learn from a new promotional piece put out by Toyota that the little EV is owned by Lois Lane. Two employees of the Daily Planet, which is where Lois works, are using her car to drive around and gather info about an ongoing monster attack. It's a dumb premise, but boy some people on YouTube are just showering the cheesy commercial with praise. 'Best Toyota Ad and glad that they are supporting evs,' wrote one. 'This is definitely my favorite commercial of all time,' said another. 'Toyota is Back (sic),' said another. We wonder where he thought the automaker went. Our favorite comment is this one: 'Wait up Godzilla. I gotta charge my car lol.' Like we said before, other automakers have done this sort of thing plenty of times. For example, in Batman Vs Superman, Bruce Wayne drives a Jeep Renegade as he tries saving people in the early part of that movie. Many of the early Marvel movies featured SHIELD agents driving Acuras. Black Widow shows up in a new C7 Corvette Stingray in Captain America: Winter Soldier. We could go on, but you probably get the idea. Will anyone actually buy a Toyota bZ because they saw it in the Superman movie? We think this sort of thing might work when the car is really cool, but with a ride like the bZ we just don't see it helping much, if at all. Remember, the Renegade still flopped after Bruce Wayne drove it. Check out the Toyota commercial here. Image via Toyota

"So it was like, he wouldn't give us money to do that. He needed to have the control of bringing us shopping and swiping his own card. But if we asked, 'Hey, could we have $100 to go get food, to go to Claire's to get my ears pierced,' just little stuff like that? He was like, 'No. You're using me.'"
