Eight deities to be consecrated in Ram mandir this week
Ayodhya: A major milestone in the first phase of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple complex's construction will be completed this week with the Prana Pratishtha (consecration) of eight deities in the premises.
Champat Rai, general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, announced on Monday that the consecration ceremonies will be held between June 3 and 5.
'The rituals will culminate on June 5 at 11.25 am, when the main Prana Pratishtha Puja will be performed, followed by Bhog Aarti around 1 p.m. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to attend the ceremony,' he said.
The deities whose idols will be consecrated include Shivling, Ganpati, Hanuman Ji, Surya Dev, Bhagwati, Annapurna, Sheshavatar, and Shri Ram Darbar.
A total of 101 Vedic acharyas from across India will perform the rituals in traditional Vedic style. 'This is a worship-centric event, not a grand public gathering,' Rai emphasised.
'We request devotees not to inconvenience themselves by coming in large numbers, especially on June 5. There is no formal invitation system. The event is open to all, but we expect devotion, discipline, and restraint from everyone,' Rai urged.
June 5 also marks the festival of Ganga Dussehra, and coincidentally, it is also the birthday of CM Yogi Adityanath. Champat Rai called this alignment of events 'spontaneous and a reflection of divine will.' The three-day Vedic ceremony will commence at 6:30 a.m. each day, with the main rituals scheduled for June 5. In the run-up to the Prana Pratishtha, a Kalash Yatra was held on Monday, starting from the banks of the Saryu River. A large number of women participated in the religious procession, which passed through Rangmahal Barrier, Lata Chowk, Rampath, Shringar Haat, Hanumangarhi Bazaar, Dashrath Mahal, and Ramkot Barrier before reaching the Yagya Sthal.

On Ganga Dussehra, Ayodhyaset for Raja Ram's consecration
Lucknow: On the auspicious occasion of Ganga Dussehra festival, the temple town of Ayodhya will witness the consecration of Raja Ram and other deities on the first floor of Ram Temple. The consecration ceremony will be led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath . This will be the second consecration event at the temple in over a year, with the first one, of Ram Lalla taking place in Jan last year. "On this special occasion, the Chief Minister will seek the blessings of Shri Ram, further strengthening his profound spiritual connection with Ayodhya," an official statement read. The event will coincide with the 53rd birthday of Yogi Adityanath. According to Hindu religious scriptures, Ganga Dussehra is considered a very auspicious day as it is believed that on this day, the river Ganga descended to earth from the locks of Lord Shiva. Chief priest of Rasik Niwas Temple in Ayodhya, Mahant Raghuvar Sharan, said: "This year, Ganga Dussehra will not only be a sacred but also a historic occasion as after a long struggle of 500 years, Raja Ram will be welcomed on the first floor of Ram Temple. The occasion will witness a unique blend of enthusiasm, devotion, and spirituality in Ayodhya." "The ceremony will be conducted on Thursday between 11.25am and 11.40am," said member of Ram Temple Trust Anil Mishra, who will also be the main 'yajman' to welcome the deity on Thursday. According to astrologer Kalki Ram, auspicious rituals performed on Ganga Dussehra yield manifold results. "Perhaps that is why the temple trust has shortlisted June 5 for the consecration of Raja Ram's idol. The time period between 11.25am and 11.40am is considered extremely auspicious," he said. "In addition to Ram Darbar, the consecration of seven other temples within the Ram temple complex will also take place. The entire process will be conducted amid religious rituals and Vedic chants, with learned Brahmins from across the country participating," said Anil Mishra.
