Key Ceremony At Ayodhya Ram Temple Today. Trust Chief Shares Details

Ayodhya: The consecration, or pran pratishtha, of eight temples, including that of the Ram Darbar, will be held on the first floor of the Ram temple in Ayodhya today. The programs began at 6:30 am and will continue till the afternoon on the last of the three-day ceremony. Speaking exclusively to NDTV, Champat Rai, General Secretary of Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, said that the temple complex is now nearing its completion. "About 95 percent of the temples have been completed. Kalash have been made. The idols of the deities have been installed in the temples. Before Pran Pratishtha on June 3 and 4, the necessary rituals and worship were done. Today is the last day of the rituals of Pran Pratishtha," said Mr Rai. He also assured that darshan will continue as before. VIP darshan facility will not be available today, and no VIP passes will be issued for the day, but the public won't face any hindrance in visiting the temple, he said. "People can walk up to the eastern gate and enter the complex after completing the security checks. Every day, 70,000-80,000 devotees visit the temple, and there is no restriction on darshan," said Mr Rai. However, the first-floor temples that are being consecrated today will remain closed for now. Darshan will be allowed at those temples only when the situation is favourable, he said, but did not hint at when one could expect those to open. He said the process to open these areas is yet to be decided, and that it cannot be said now how much time it would take. The phase 2 of the 'pran pratishtha' ceremony began on June 3. Today, which marks the last of the three-day ceremony, the consecration of Raja Ram - in the king's form - will be done. This morning, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was among those who attended the ceremony. He also shared a video of him offering prayers at the Ayodhya temple. In the first phase, the Ram Lalla idol was consecrated in the temple complex on January 22, 2024, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Eight deities to be consecrated in Ram mandir this week

Ayodhya: A major milestone in the first phase of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple complex's construction will be completed this week with the Prana Pratishtha (consecration) of eight deities in the premises. Champat Rai, general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, announced on Monday that the consecration ceremonies will be held between June 3 and 5. 'The rituals will culminate on June 5 at 11.25 am, when the main Prana Pratishtha Puja will be performed, followed by Bhog Aarti around 1 p.m. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to attend the ceremony,' he said. The deities whose idols will be consecrated include Shivling, Ganpati, Hanuman Ji, Surya Dev, Bhagwati, Annapurna, Sheshavatar, and Shri Ram Darbar. A total of 101 Vedic acharyas from across India will perform the rituals in traditional Vedic style. 'This is a worship-centric event, not a grand public gathering,' Rai emphasised. 'We request devotees not to inconvenience themselves by coming in large numbers, especially on June 5. There is no formal invitation system. The event is open to all, but we expect devotion, discipline, and restraint from everyone,' Rai urged. June 5 also marks the festival of Ganga Dussehra, and coincidentally, it is also the birthday of CM Yogi Adityanath. Champat Rai called this alignment of events 'spontaneous and a reflection of divine will.' The three-day Vedic ceremony will commence at 6:30 a.m. each day, with the main rituals scheduled for June 5. In the run-up to the Prana Pratishtha, a Kalash Yatra was held on Monday, starting from the banks of the Saryu River. A large number of women participated in the religious procession, which passed through Rangmahal Barrier, Lata Chowk, Rampath, Shringar Haat, Hanumangarhi Bazaar, Dashrath Mahal, and Ramkot Barrier before reaching the Yagya Sthal.

"We have not invited anyone from outside Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh or nearby states or other states. Do not gather in Ayodhya for Pran Pratishtha because no special arrangements have been made," Rai. Rai said that owing to the weather conditions, holding a large programme was not possible and people should avoid crowding Ayodhya on June 5 when the Ram Darbar on the first floor would be inaugurated. "I request everybody with folded hands to plan your visit as per your due schedule and original plan. We have not extended the invitation for people to attend the consecration ceremony. We appeal to you to plan your visit after the ceremonies are over," said Rai. Seven temples, including the Ram Darbar, will be inaugurated in the Ram temple complex on June 5. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath would attend the ceremony during the muhurat on June 5 morning. Yogi will attend three more events — Saryu Trayodashi Janmotsav, birthday celebrations of Ram temple's chief priest Nritya Gopal Das, and a programme to mark the World Environment Day on June 5— which is also the CM's birthday. The ceremonies will culminate on the auspicious occasion of Ganga Dussehra on June 5. Rituals commenced on Monday evening with a grand Kalash Yatra from the banks of the Saryu River. The yatra passed through Veena Chowk, Rampath, Singarhat, and Rangmahal Barrier before reaching the temple premises. Ram Raksha Stotra, Hanuman Chalisa and bhajans would continue to play in the background. To ensure the convenience of the devotees, Ayodhya District Magistrate Nikhil Tikaram Funde confirmed that extensive arrangements have been made, including shaded rest areas, drinking water stations, and mobile toilets. Special measures have also been taken in light of the prevailing heat, with 10 hospital beds reserved in each district hospital for emergencies. ORS packets are being distributed at the temple premises, outposts, and police stations. Resting areas and other amenities have also been made available within the temple premises for pilgrims.
