SB19 Owns 20% Of A Billboard Chart with 'Dungka!' and 'Dam'
SB19 has been one of the hottest musical acts in the Philippines for several years now, and certainly among the top-performing commercially. While the boy band began expanding outside the Asian nation with its past project, the last few months have been especially significant, as the outfit's new short album Simula at Wakas shows that the misicians have absolutely developed an audience in Western markets, such as the United States.
Another single spun off from the band's new EP has not only become a commercial success in America, but a top 10 smash for the vocal troupe – another one.
'Dungka!' debuts on the World Digital Song Sales chart this week. The cut launches at No. 7 on the purchase-centric tally. SB19 scores the top start of the week on the 10-spot ranking, and the Filipino boy band's latest focus track is one of only two new arrivals this time around. The other, 'Will Ye Go, Lassie Go,' is credited to Lola Kirke, Peter Dreams, Brian Dunphy, Darren Holden and Jack O'Connell, all of whom are actors (and singers) in the blockbuster movie Sinners. That tune enters at No. 10, in last place.
This frame, SB19 fills a pair of positions on the World Digital Song Sales list. As 'Dungka!' starts at No. 7, the first single taken from Simula at Wakas, 'Dam,' kicks off its third week on the ranking, reentering at No. 4. Earlier this year, 'Dam' became the group's first champion on this Billboard tally.
SB19 first appeared on the World Digital Song Sales chart in 2023, making history when 'Gento' arrived. That tune spent just one frame at No. 8, earning the group an initial top 10 bestseller.
This week, SB19 claims 20% of all the spots on the World Digital Song Sales ranking. The Filipino male vocal troupe is the only non-solo musical act to occupy more than one position.
Soloists Jack O'Connell, Brian Dunphy, and Darren Holden — actors and singers from Sinners — also fill two slots. As 'Will Ye Go, Lassie Go' debuts, 'Rocky Road to Dublin' is also still present on the tally. The latter tune opened in third place last frame and now climbs to No. 2.

5 Spots That Show Why Minato City Is Tokyo's Must‑Visit Food District
Minato City is a special ward in Tokyo located along Tokyo Bay. Neighborhoods within the area include Aoyama, Shiba, Roppongi, and Azabu. It's an upscale, wealthy enclave known for designer boutiques, high-end art, lush greenery, and most importantly, some of Tokyo's best eats. Umi This two-Michelin-starred restaurant specializes in edomae sushi and is revered by serious fish connoisseurs for its perfectly balanced rice, vinegar and fish. Located in Minami Aoyama, not far from Gaien-mae Station, Umi has retained its stars for over a decade. Expect an omakase menu that includes not only sushi but a range of seasonal dishes. The chef is both skilled and personable, and with only ten seats available, reservations are essential. Chef's Theatre Chef's Theatre inside Mesm Tokyo, one of the world's most stylish and design-forward hotels, offers a festive open kitchen environment featuring bistronomy-style French cuisine led by head chef Kouki Kumamoto. Many dishes are themed around activating all five senses using seasonal Tokyo ingredients. Dishes are story-based and inspired by the local environment, from the lush Hamarikyu Gardens to the glittering nightlife of Harajuku. One standout is the high tea program called Afternoon Exhibition, which changes seasonally, with elegant bites inspired by individual pieces of art. The current prix fixe dinner includes options such as pan-seared wagyu beef, asparagus and prawn charlotte and roasted duck with spring vegetable tart. Tofuya Ukai The aesthetic of Tofuya Ukai is reminiscent of the Edo period, 200 years ago. Located beneath Tokyo Tower, guests are encouraged to arrive early to explore its expansive Japanese gardens, complete with pine trees and koi ponds. This is a tofu-focused kaiseki experience with elaborate dishes crafted from spring water and premium soybeans. A multicourse meal might include tosui-tofu (tofu in a dashi-infused soymilk soup), artisan bean curd in hotpots or age-dengaku (fried tofu cooked over wood charcoal). Meals run at least three hours and are served inside a traditional Japanese house with tatami floors and garden views. For the best value, book a lunch reservation. Go now, this institution will permanently close its doors on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Ramen Jiro Mita Honten A cult favorite, this is the original location of the now-chain Ramen Jiro. Known for unapologetically over-the-top bowls, it's as controversial as it is beloved. Some call it ramen's version of fast food—massive portions, fatty cuts of chashu and a bold, salty broth made with the shop's own soy sauce. Unlike more refined ramen shops, bowls here are chaotic and intentionally excessive. Mita Honten—the original location—is a tiny shop, but worth the visit. Bonus points if you can finish the entire bowl. Miyachiku Takeshiba Located inside the WATERS Takeshiba complex, Miyachiku Takeshiba specializes in Miyazaki beef, considered by many to be the best in Japan. Choose from teppanyaki counter seats, sofa seating or private rooms with luxurious views of Tokyo Bay. The drink list is extensive, with selections from the Miyazaki Prefecture, including rare sake, cocktails, wines and French champagnes. A teppanyaki dinner might include Miyazaki beef loin, appetizers, grilled fish, vegetables, rice, dessert and post-meal beverages. Tsukiiji Market Tour For a morning excursion just outside Minato City, sign up for Arigato Travel's Tsukiji Market breakfast tour. It begins with a traditional Japanese breakfast featuring sweet grilled fish, miso soup and rice, followed by bites from market stalls like freshly shucked oysters, sliced tuna and Japanese sweets. Along the way, a local guide shares background on the market's history and leads a stop at a nearby shrine. Expect a family-style lunch experience after the tour with the freshest picks of the morning shared among guests.

SM Entertainment Stock Jump August 4: BoA, Aespa, Chanyeol Comebacks
SM Entertainment stock popped up nearly five percent on Monday, August 4 following milestone releases and announcements from some of the K-pop company's representative artists. According to final reports from the Korean Securities Dealers Automated Quotations (KOSDAQ) trading board, SM Entertainment stock closed at 135,600 Korean won (nearly $98), gaining 6,100 KRW for the day to deliver a 4.71% jump. The healthy pop comes as BoA releases her 11th 11th full-length album, Crazier, on Monday, marking her 25th anniversary in the K-pop industry in a landmark career where her work helped establish SM not only as a powerhouse in its native Korea but also in Japan, where BoA has seven Number One albums. The title track single 'Crazier' sees the K-diva embrace a playful country-rock sound with lyrical declarations pointing to her longevity in the scene: 'Hear you talking loud but I'll get louder / You should know by now but I don't ever run away… / It's a crazy world, I've seen it all, but guess what? / I'm crazier.' BoA co-wrote and co-produced 'Crazier' while also contributing to a handful of songs across the new album including penning the seductive dance track 'It Takes Two' and the moody, acoustic-guitar-led 'How Could' as the sole songwriter. Beyond new BoA, SM Entertainment and its artists shared other major announcements that have seemingly sparked interest in investors. Chart-topping girl group aespa shared that their upcoming EP titled Rich Man will be released next month. The quartet has established themselves as reliable hitmakers with nearly all of their singles reaching the Top 10 of South Korea's charts. The 2025 Billboard Women in Music honoreees' latest single, 'Dirty Work' from June this year, is still a Top 10 hit in Korea while also charting on the Billboard Global 200. But aespa's 2024 tracks like 'Whiplash,' 'Supernova,' 'Armageddon,' and 'UP' are also lasting chart hits today showing the staying power of the Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 stars. The physical single release of 'Dirty Work' also moved just over one million physical copies this year with an EP likely to produce at least a million copies as well given aespa's 2024 releases (1.6 million albums sold for Armageddon since its May release and 1.3 million for Whiplash since November). Rich Man drops in full on September 5. Meanwhile, Chanyeol of the popular boy band EXO also announced new music. The new EP titled Upside Down drops before the month's end. While the 32-year-old has been releasing solo music for over a decade through different movie, television and collaboration projects, it was only last year that Chanyeol released his first official project via his Black Out EP that moved over 415,000 physical copies globally. According to an announcement poster, Chanyeol is gearing up to release at least two new music videos from the album as well as deliver live performances post-release. And while it wasn't an official release from the company itself, KEY of long-beloved boy band SHINee shared over the weekend during his performance at KCON 2025 Los Angeles that his Keyland tour would be hitting the U.S. this year as well. SM Entertainment has also shared plans for new music this year from more of its artists including JOY, Haechan, NCT 127, NCT WISH and more. SM's jump on the KOSDAQ continues its momentum shown in 2025 so far. SM Entertainment stock is up nearly 90% year-to-date.
