Liu Wai Hung to open entertainment complex in Malaysia
Hong Kong former actor Liu Wai Hung plans to open an entertainment complex in Malaysia, uniting eateries, karaoke and more under one roof.
The 67-year-old, who shot to fame for playing a mainland Chinese immigrant named Ah Chan in the 1979 TVB series The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, left showbiz in the '90s to pivot to running food and agriculture businesses.
In a series of recent YouTube videos, Wai Hung announced his upcoming plans to open a food and entertainment complex in Kuala Lumpur spanning 15,000 sqft over four storeys.
"There will be a Chinese restaurant on the first floor, with a total of five different VIP rooms, each equipped with karaoke," he shared.
The second floor will feature a Western restaurant with a bar and a stage for live performances, while the third will consist of a private dining area with a "VVIP room" for 20 people.
The fourth floor will consist of offices.

He added that he was undergoing acupuncture to treat his ailments.
Officials indicted in late Lee Sun-kyun case
A police officer and a prosecutor were indicted on Thursday (June 5) by the Incheon District Prosecutor's Office for revealing official secrets about the 2023 drug abuse investigation against late Korean actor Lee Sun-kyun.
According to South Korean media, the police officer is a man in his 30s from the Incheon Metropolitan Police who is accused of taking photos of an investigation progress report which contained personal information about Sun-kyun and sending it to a reporter on Oct 18, 2023.
The reporter, who shared the information, has also been charged with violating the South Korean Personal Information Protection Act.
The prosecutor, who worked for the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office, is accused of revealing that Sun-kyun was being investigated for drug charges to another journalist, which resulted in the case being made public on Oct 19.
The Parasite actor had undergone three rounds of police interrogations from October 2023 until his suicide that December aged 48.
South Korean media was heavily criticised for their sensationalist reporting on Sun-kyun, and celebrities including Parasite director Bong Joon-ho called for an investigation into potential security lapses in the handling of the case.

Hong Kong actor Peter Pang recently performed at a nightclub in China to raise funds for his medical and daily expenses, despite having been diagnosed with stage three rectal cancer in 2023.
In a video posted by the 54-year-old to Xiaohongshu on May 24, fans can be seen holding signs and light sticks outside the venue. Peter also performs Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies by the Hong Kong rock band Beyond to his eager audience.
"I am grateful that I can still use this body to perform for everyone and will keep working hard," he captioned the post.
Peter recently revealed in an interview with ST Headline that he was struggling financially, having to take a year off work during his recovery.
He went through his savings and had to borrow a six-figure sum from friends and relatives to pay medical bills and daily expenses.
"It's hard to support (the family) from my wife's salary alone, and the money I borrowed is almost gone," the father-of-three said.
"Even if people understand my situation and no one urges me to pay back the money, I don't want to be in debt for so long."

Megan, half-Singaporean member of Katseye, comes out as bisexual
Megan shared that she realised she was attracted to women as early as the age of eight. PHOTO: MEGANSKIENDIEL/INSTAGRAM Megan, half-Singaporean member of Katseye, comes out as bisexual Megan, a member of the global girl group Katseye, has publicly come out as bisexual. During a live broadcast on fan platform Weverse with fellow member Lara on June 6 , the 19-year-old shared her identity with fans, stating: 'I'm coming out. I'm bisexual.' The two celebrated the moment together, jumping in place with joy. Megan, who has a Singaporean-Chinese mother and American-Swedish father, debuted in the US with the six-member group in 2024. This marks the second coming out within the group. Back in March, Lara revealed her sexual orientation through a Weverse live broadcast. She shared that she realised she was attracted to women as early as the age of eight, and confessed that she was deeply afraid when auditioning. 'I didn't know if people would accept me. I was scared it might ruin my chances,' she wrote at the time. With both Lara and Megan now openly identifying as members of the LGBTQ+ community, Katseye stands out as a rare example of queer representation in the K-pop scene. The sextet is a multinational and multi-ethnic K-pop girl group formed by South Korean entertainment company Hybe in collaboration with American label Geffen Records. The group will return with its second EP Beautiful Chaos on May 27. THE KOREA HERALD/ASIA NEWS NETWORK Join ST's Telegram channel and get the latest breaking news delivered to you.

E-Junkies: Katy Kung agreed to do tough labour in TVB reality show because 'might as well choose the most challenging one', Entertainment News
Hong Kong actress Katy Kung is an example of an artiste who goes all the way for her work, despite the challenging parts of the assignment. In a recent episode of TVB reality series A Day With A Pro, where artistes try out tough jobs, the 35-year-old is seen going all out as a maintenance worker, cleaning out cockroaches and faece-filled drainage systems. Speaking to AsiaOne on May 31 at StarHub's new flagship store in Paragon she said: "A lot of people asked why my company assigned me to do this show. That's actually not the case, they had asked me beforehand if I was okay to do related work like this. "I feel that since I agreed to do this, then I might as well choose the most challenging one. It was an unforgettable experience to have a chance to be exposed to work like this." Katy also recalled vividly of an instance where she opened up a drain cover and cockroaches skittered towards her. "I got quite a shock because they were running in my direction. If they were going in the opposite direction, then maybe I wouldn't be so afraid... I am actually okay seeing cockroaches, so long as they don't fly," she shared. She added that she experienced the tasks of a maintenance worker for two days for filming and while it was tough work, she also didn't want to delay the staff members. Katy shared: "To be honest, it was really tiring, but this was also a job where I had to coordinate with the other maintenance workers. So, I told myself that I needed to work faster, or they would have a difficult time too. "I couldn't just think about myself because everyone was also tired. It was a very hot day and there were no clouds at all. I just told myself to get the task done quickly so that the workers wouldn't have a tough time as well." A staff member offered her a lift home and told her later that the smell actually lingered in their vehicle for a few days. View this post on Instagram A post shared by 龔嘉欣 Katy Official (@kungkaty) Katy and TVB actor Him Law were in Singapore last weekend where they met and played games with fans at the StarHub flagship store in Paragon on May 31 and also performed outside Jurong Point the following day. She shared that she was last in Singapore about six years ago and looked forward to eating local food, especially black pepper crabs that evening. View this post on Instagram A post shared by AsiaOne (@asiaonecom) Katy arrived on May 31 and fans gathered at the airport to warmly welcome her. When asked how she felt meeting her fans, she said: "I actually felt quite apologetic today, because there was a delay, and I came out of the arrival hall late. But they were all waiting for me. "I had told them earlier not to come because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to take photos or sign autographs for them, but they were so nice, they waited for me for a long time and were also very enthusiastic. They even bought a pandan cake for me knowing that I love eating it." View this post on Instagram A post shared by hktvbfan (@hktvbfan) Katy also introduced her upcoming TVB drama The Map of Truth, which is expected to be released this year. She shared: "The title of the drama sounds like a variety show, but actually it's a drama. There is a small element of suspense, but it's also a touching story. There may be some scary scenes. It seems like audiences prefer series like this, such as Unchained Medley (2023)." The Map of Truth tells the story of feng shui expert Master Zhuang Yichen (Wayne Lai) who creates a social media channel to discuss and visit places with supernatural elements. As he gains popularity for his content, sceptic influencer Bi Ping (Katy) uses scientific explanations to debunk Master Zhuang's discussions and the two begin a fight to outwit each other, with the line between superstition and reality becoming increasingly blurred. Katy said that while filming the drama, they visited "almost every cemetery in Hong Kong" and shared an unforgettable experience she had. She recounted: "There was a day when I drove myself to the filming location, which was in a cemetery. The cemetery doesn't seem to be maintained and is located at the top of a mountain. A staff member told me [over the phone] that they would arrive in about half an hour, and I could meet them there, so I drove over. "But when I reached there, there was not a single person in sight. I thought I went to the wrong location, but when I called them, I was told that they had a delay and would arrive in another half an hour. I was alone at the cemetery, so I quickly lowered my car seat and closed my eyes to wait for them. That was quite an unforgettable experience." When asked if it was during the day or night, she responded that it was the former, adding with a laugh: "If it was nighttime, I would have left immediately." FACT CHECK: Is This a Real Photo of Trump and Jeffrey Epstein Partying with Underage Girls?
A photo shared online that appears to show President Donald Trump posing with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and young girls has fueled wild theories. The photo appeared hours after Musk went on a tirade against Trump, accusing him of hiding details from the public about Epstein because revealing the truth would expose Trump's own involvement. "Time to drop the really big bomb," Musk posted on X after the multi-hour tirade against the president. "@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files." Since then, several photos claiming Trump and Epstein together have gone viral online. However, this particular photo is completely fake and was circulated on social media to spread misinformation. AI-Altered Image On June 5, 2025, a photo began circulating on X claiming to show Trump with Epstein and a young girl in a crop top. A reverse image search on Google revealed that the photo had been posted across multiple platforms, including Reddit, Threads, Facebook, and various Chinese-language forums and websites. The same photo was posted once last year also. The photo sparked debate among social media users with many claiming the photo was real. One user pointed out how difficult it had been to locate the image online just two weeks earlier. Skepticism about the photo is understandable, as there are several signs it may have been generated using artificial intelligence (AI). Many noted visual inconsistencies, such as deformities in the girl's hand and irregularities in the sleeve of Trump's jacket. In addition, a reverse image search led to a full-sized version of the viral image. Major Flaws In the original version of the photo, further scrutiny revealed additional unmistakable signs suggesting that the photo was artificially manipulated. Examples of these anomalies included the deformed faces of people in the background, Trump appearing to have only one leg, and Epstein seemingly dissolving into the couch. Several social media users started taking the photo seriously because they saw only half of the original image. The complete photo looks hilarious. Also, some celebrities initially took the photo seriously and reposted it, which added fuel to the fire. However, it can be concluded that the image is completely fake and was posted to spread misinformation. In February, the Justice Department released over 100 pages of his phone records and flight logs as part of a "Phase One" release, which left many online investigators disappointed due to the lack of explosive details. Epstein's association with Trump has been public knowledge for years, with footage and photos showing them together at social events in the 1990s. The initial set of DOJ documents included Trump's name in the flight records, along with mentions of some of his family members — such as his first wife Ivana and daughter Ivanka — listed among Epstein's contacts. Advisors have quietly admitted that Trump's association with Epstein will probably come up again when more documents are released — though they maintain that the files don't contain any claims of misconduct by the president.
