Hugely popular Disney+ drama Rivals has just filled out the cast of season two with some exciting names
Rivals' second season has added several new names to the already stellar cast, including two massive movie stars.

The popular drama about dishy MP Rupert Campbell-Black (played by Alex Hassell) and his feud with TV studio director Tony, Lord Baddingham (David Tennant) became one of Disney+'s biggest hits of last year.

The streamer has now announced that movie stars Hayley Atwell (Mission: Impossible) and Rupert Everett (Napoleon) will make guest appearances in the second season.

They will be joining additional season two cast members Maxim Ays, Holly Cattle, Oliver Dench, Amanda Lawrence, Bobby Lockwood, Eliot Salt, and Jonny Weldon.
Season two is currently in production with a projected release date of late 2025 or early 2026.
Atwell will have an intriguing dynamic with Rupert as she's portraying Helen Gordon, his ex-wife and the mother of their two children, Marcus and Tabitha.
Meanwhile, Everett will portray Helen's new husband Malise Gordon, who also happens to be Rupert's former show-jumping mentor.
They are currently listed as guest stars so it's unknown how many episodes of the new season they'll be appearing in.

BBC reveal major show ‘is going nowhere' after lead star quit as bosses give update on beleaguered series

But they've not been very convincing. She was asked about Disney+, who bankrolled the last two series, and whether the Beeb would be willing to keep the show going if they didn't renew their arrangement. Katie replied: 'Absolutely. Any Whovians out there, rest assured, Doctor Who is going nowhere. 'Disney has been a great partnership, but going forward with or without Disney Doctor Who will still be on the BBC.' But when pressed on when they'd confirm any decision she replied: 'Soon, don't worry. "The Tardis is going nowhere. Lindsay Salt will be on soon so she can talk a bit more about that.' Then when Lindsay, the BBC's director of drama, arrived on the same stage, she was equally vague about the long-running show. She said: 'There's no update at the moment, but honestly we will share as soon as we do have an update. 'The BBC is committed to the brand. "For drama, it's the biggest brand for the under 35-year-olds. Billie Piper announced as new Doctor Who as she replaces Ncuti Gatwa in BBC series "So it's very important to us and we're committed.' A massive question mark now hangs over the future of the show and whether the Beeb's 'commitment' and determination to keep it 'with the BBC' actually means they'll order a new series any time soon. It all comes after Ncuti's departure amid plunging viewing figures, which some fans have blamed on the increasingly woke storylines under the tenure of Russell T Davies. The BBC had previously said they wouldn't make any decisions until after the most recent series finished running — well, that was nearly three months ago now. Bizbit SKY announced that it is making an interview series with Dame Judi Dench which will see her chat to various celebrities. Called Tea With Judi Dench, the show sees her tap into her contacts book for subjects – the first being her fellow luvvie Sir Kenneth Branagh. PLOPPER FUNNY, DANNY ATTENDEES at the Edinburgh TV Festival like to think they are a sophisticated bunch, but the biggest laugh heard at the event proved otherwise. Sky unveiled a clip of its upcoming show, The Dyers' Caravan Park, which sees Danny Dyer and daughter Dani try their hand at running a holiday park they have invested in. The first thing they are seen doing is organising a meeting with the residents. During the chat, complaints are raised that the park's swimming pool had people doing number twos in there. While discussing this later in the day, Danny delivers a lovely little anecdote to Dani. He tells her: 'I s**t in the bath once, didn't I? "Me and my brother used to have a bath and I s**t in it and I pushed it up his end of the bath, because I didn't want to get in trouble.' You had to be there. Bizbit QUOTE of the day came, predictably, from hilarious ITV boss Kevin Lygo, who was asked at the TV festival how he felt about making shows for young people. He was trying to say it could be a venture that could backfire, but instead said: 'You can get in terrible trouble chasing teenagers.' NO LAUGHING MATTER JUST like the contestants have to stifle a giggle, try to contain your excitement as Prime Video gives us a first look at the new line-up for Last One Laughing. The breakout hit show has brought together a top-class collection of comedians for the second series, which arguably tops the first run. 3 The cast of Last One Laughing series two Bob Mortimer, who triumphed last time round, is back along with hosts Jimmy Carr and Roisin Conaty. All Bob had to do to win was spend time with ten of the funniest men and women in Britain and not even smile, let alone laugh. Which is no mean feat. Prime Video promises that the new season, which airs next year, will once again be 'packed with comedy cameos, format twists and surprises designed to elicit laughs from both players and viewers alike'.

Love Island's Shaughna Phillips showed off her baby bump this week in a comfy ASOS co-ord that offers plenty of stretch - and it comes with an affordable price tag Former Love Island star Shaughna Phillips announced back in June that she is expecting her second child, delighting fans with the heartwarming news. This week, she's been taking fans with her to a maternity appointment and other errands, showing off her growing bump. And while fans are thrilled to see Shaughna's pregnancy journey, it's her co-ord that's catching attention as it looks like the perfect comfortable fit for a casual day out, whether you're expecting or not. And the good news is, we know exactly where to shop your own in all sizes. The 30-year-old reality TV personality, who first rose to fame on the winter 2020 edition of Love Island, shared the announcement via her social media channels. Shaughna exclusively told the Mirror: "We're so happy to announce we are adding to our little family. Lucia is going to be the best big sister and is really excited to have a new baby brother or sister arrive later this year." Shaughna wore the Collusion relaxed stripe trousers and cardigan from ASOS this week. The pair are currently available in a range of colours and sizes from 4 to 18. The Love Island starlet wore the light blue and brown colourway, which is the perfect shade choice as we head into transitional styling. Boasting an understated look, the trousers (£24.99) feature an all-over stripe design and relaxed fit that provides plenty of room without being constrictive and maintains a flattering style on all body types. Featuring a drawstring waist that allows for a secure fit that can hug the waist, the trousers offer enough stretch to comfortably fit any waistline. For alternative trousers that copy Shaughna's style, H&M has these Straight drawstring trousers in several shades and sizes for £12.99, or New Look has just restocked these Black Crinkle Textured Striped Wide Leg Trousers (£29.99) in four hues. Meanwhile, the stylish cardigan top in the co-ord (£23.99) boasts a regular fit that creates a relaxed silhouette that's both fashionable and comfortable. Equipped with a trendy crew neckline, this top has buttons up the middle of the piece that allow for a customisable fit and make it an ideal choice for layering as we head into autumn. Boohoo has an alternative top available with this Stripe Button Through Cardigan for £15.20, or head over to H&M to find this Fine-knit cardigan for £12.99. Both pieces are available in all sizes from 4-6 to 16-18 and come in a range of shades, though some colours are running low in stock. Apple TV+ abruptly hikes prices

Apple TV has raised its prices by 33 percent — joining a host of other streamings hiking subscription costs. New US subscribers paying $12.99 per month starting August 21. That's up $3 from the current $9.99 rate and marks the first increase since October 2023. Existing subscribers will see the higher price applied within 30 days of their next renewal date. Last month, Peacock announced increases of up to 40 percent , highlighting a broader industry trend as streaming platforms seek profitability after years of heavy investment in premium content. Netflix has raised prices this year too, while Disney, HBO Max and Paramount+ are tipped to hike prices before the end of the year after increases last summer. Apple justified the increase by pointing to the expansion of its ad-free library. 'Since its launch, Apple TV+ has expanded its deep library of hundreds of Apple Originals, with thousands of hours of premium programming across genres and brand-new releases weekly — all ad-free,' the company said in a statement. 'Subscribers can explore a rich offering of thrilling dramas, epic sci-fi, feel-good comedies, and live sports.' Customers questioned the price rise. 'I signed up when it was $4.99. I wasn't happy after it drifted up to $9.99. This is a step to far. I am cancelling,' Alex Palmer, 33, from Los Angeles, told Daily Mail. The price hike applies in the US and select international markets, though Apple has not specified which foreign countries will be affected. The company has not indicated whether the change will affect Apple One, its bundled subscription service. Upcoming premieres include season four of The Morning Show on September 17, season five of Slow Horses on September 24, Vince Gilligan's Pluribus on November 7, and films like Highest Two Lowest on September 5 and The Lost Bus on October 3. Apple TV+ is also home to Emmy-nominated shows like Severance and Seth Rogen's The Studio, as well as kids programming, Peanuts specials, and live sports, including Major League Baseball's Friday Night Baseball and Major League Soccer matches. The service has been losing more than $1 billion annually, as spending on premium content has exceeded revenue, according to a March 2025 report by The Information. Apple has not broken out financial results for the service and has not publicly commented on the losses. The streaming service originally launched in November 2019 at $4.99 a month and has gradually increased pricing as it expanded its content library. Over the past 18 months, all the major streamers have increased prices. In January, Netflix raised prices for its ad tier subscription to $7.99. Paramount Plus did the same last June . Max, Hulu, and Disney+ all hiked their entry level prices to $9.99, while Prime Video costs $8.99 a month.
