20 injured as pilgrims' vehicle overturns in Kaushambi
The vehicle, a Tata Magic, was carrying Premchandra from Khatangi village and several family members and relatives when the accident occurred. According to reports, the driver lost control of the speeding vehicle, which then overturned. Women and children were among the injured. Locals and passers-by rushed to help, pulling out the trapped passengers and taking them to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The driver, identified as Ajay, fled the scene after the crash. Locals claimed he was under the influence of alcohol. Police from Sandipan Ghat police station arrived at the spot, took the vehicle into custody, and launched a search for the driver. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

According to police, a taxi driver, identified as Ajay (25), and a passenger, Sahveer (40), residents of Kasganj and Etah districts, respectively, lost their lives in a head-on collision between the taxi and an unknown vehicle near Churathra Community Health Centre in Awagarh area in Etah district. Ajay was going home to celebrate Raksha Bandhan after completing a cab ride booking for Agra. On the way, after picking up three passengers, his vehicle collided head-on with an unknown vehicle. Ajay died on the spot, while Sahveer succumbed to his injuries in a hospital, Awagarh SHO Akhilesh Kumar Dixit said. Among the two other injured, Aaram Singh was referred to Agra for treatment, while the other injured, Atar Singh, was sent home after first aid, Dixit said. Eyewitnesses said that the driver could have fallen asleep, which led to the accident. The cause of the accident could be the driver falling asleep, Dixit added. In another incident, a speeding car hit a motorcycle near Anandpuram, killing Akash (30) on the spot. According to eyewitnesses, after the collision, the car driver was trying to flee, but the police barricaded and detained him. The bodies of the deceased are sent for postmortem, and on receiving a complaint of the incident, a case will be registered, the SHO said. VARANASI: A passenger opened the emergency exit handle cover on an Akasa Airlines flight at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi on Thursday evening. The passenger, identified as Ajay Tiwari, was handed over to Phulpur police. Around 7:55pm, when Akasa Airlines flight QP-1491 was ready to depart from Varanasi to Bengaluru when Ajay opened the cover of the emergency exit handle. A crew member saw this and informed the pilot immediately. The pilot contacted Air Traffic Control (ATC), and the plane was moved back from the runway to the apron. The flight took off after one hour after all the safety checks. Ajay, a resident of Lambhua in Sultanpur, was taken into custody by Phulpur police after a complaint from Akasa Airlines' Delhi office. Ajay operates a boom lift at a cement factory in Karur, Tamil Nadu and was flying to Bengaluru from where he had to go to Tamil Nadu. This was his first time on a flight. Ajay was seated at 16A, near the emergency exit. During questioning Ajay told poice that he opened the emergency exit cover by mistake as he wanted to read how the emergency exit works. Phulpur SO Pravin Kumar said that a case was registered against him under section 125 BNS (acts endangering life or personal safety of others).
